Reminds me of the time my father and I felled a big pine tree in our back yard... he used to be in the forest service, so beforehand we had to do a major clean up and check for anything the tree might fall on... Was a bit arduous, but once we carefully chopped the trunk out it landed RIGHT where he said it was... and made a deep resounding BWOOM through the ground.
He had me stand far away next to the house just to be safe, and I've never seen him run FASTER in my life... He knew what could happen if the trunk suddenly slipped towards him or something. Funniest bit was after that big impact and how scary the whole thing was, my mother ripped her bedroom window open to scream "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!" twice. We had told her what was going to happen just before we felled it... it broke the tension and I fell over laughing, so did he.
