Jacquemus being from a poor farmer family seems like a stretch. He went to an insanely expensive private school in the most expensive city in France. Probably to make it more of an exciting american dream story. Love your work and video!
thank you for pointing that out but that's what I found online about his life. It literally said he was from a poor French farmer family. Perhaps there was a bit dramatization there. Thank you for your comment!
Thank you for your channel. Please can you have a look at carpisa. It's an Italien brand in the low range price. But the product's looking really nice.
The designs from this brand don’t appeal to me but the explanation that the brand fits the “it girl” esthetic makes sense because I do see a lot of fashion influencers who aspire to this aesthetic carrying these bags. I do hope he gets the quality issues fixed. His is such an inspirational success story I would hate to see that tarnished.
I couldn't agree more. Even though his designs are not for me, I loved his accomplishments. I would hate to see all that hard work would go to waste just because ignore quality for sake of aggressive growth
that’s disappointing to hear 😞 i love my 2 jacquemus bags and I am looking forward to add a couple more in my collection, maybe I still will but it has to be on sale! thank you for your work, we are becoming more aware of the quality of different brands 😊
Glad to hear that you are happy with your bags from them. My first review was better than this one. I think with aggressive growth some shops may be underperforming but this is still not acceptable for customers as they are paying a good premium for the brand. Thank you for your support!
I litterally want to cry as I am producing hand sawn leather bags and sell them for around 400 euros and still clients say they are expensive and quote: 'what do you think with these prices? you are not michael kors or chanel' 🙄
Wait - your clients say they're expensive after they've purchased your bags from you, or do they say that prior to doing it? If it's the former, then they're not your clients yet.
Inam not even sure if this is intentional or just an oversight error because they are to focused on aggressive growth. Regardless I would love to see them fixing this so they grow further

I think you are not alone. There is a demand in the market for true luxury in quality sense without the marketing fluff price - I beleive that's why we see brands like Polene and Strathberry doing so well. I will check those books thank you
Thanks for the info. I bought the beautiful Le Bambimou White in August 2022. I've worn this bag five times and it's completely ruined. Some parts are yellowed, as if bad leather was used. This is terribly annoying 😤

Always interesting videos 😊 even from brands that don't exist for me 😅 I'm old school and love leather... Jacquemus may full many people but I don't like fast fashion and never went on trends anyway, I prefer to create my own 😂😂😂 Thank you for another very informative and hope eye opener for many people 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Oh man! I remember watching a video of you dissecting their Le Chiquito bag and praising the construction. Sad to see that their quality and craftsmanship are dropping, because I do like their looks/designs
I know, right? That bag was significantly better than this one. I don't remember where that one was made, probably I should go back and watch the footage but it was a huge difference in the wrong direction. I hope they go back to that level soon.
"Made in Italy" doesn't even mean made in Italy. It could have been made in China and just the label was sewn on in Italy. And even if it was made in Italy, it was probably made by a Chinese immigrant, not a family of Italians who've been making leather bags for centuries like everyone seems to believe.
Tanner I enjoy and shop according to your reviews. I was looking for your opinions on Fendi baguette - new and or vintage. I have a suede vintage baguette that still has a great leather scent and the gold hardware still shines. I’ve worn this bag heavily and it still looks great. That said - I really want the Fendi sequin bag.
I'm thrilled that you find my reviews helpful. Regarding the Fendi, it's already on our list! I can't provide a specific timeline for when we'll publish a video review about them, but rest assured, we're committed to covering everything on our list.
I really want the coveted “La Pochette rond carré” bag but I’ve heard how easily it scratches. While the price point is attractive, I do not want to purchase a bag where it is susceptible to immediate scratches/damage. Very disappointing but I’m not surprised.
yeah , this makes sense, i tried on almost all the menswear from the last collection at galleries lafayette in paris, its like they dont fit human male adult bodies. what a bummer. leather bags on the other hand?
Glad you like our content! Yes, all suggestions are being added to a list and we will try our best to do a review for all brands requested. Just don't know when we will get to each one. The list is over 800 brands now

Jacquemus has a good marketing method. Using "i'm from poor family" card to make your story more sad, it's a smart move. Sometimes you need sadness to fill the drama you create. It's normal in fashion industry. That's just a basic salt.
Strathberry and Polene comes to my mind first - They were started later than Jacquemus, and shows very similar revenue growth and their product are still under same hands they made them in Ubrique early on. And I confirm this with each dissection from them
Absolutely, I just did one but that was a bag I bought last summer. So it was waiting on my desk. I will but another one soon to check that claim. Thank you
I would also really appreciate a second video before I invest in one of their bags. They have beautiful designs but I don't want a down graded version. Thank you!
Fascinating Tanner and actually disturbing from a moral point of view. . Quality at that price should be non-negotiable - Smoke and mirrors is totally unacceptable.
I bought one online need to exchange twice because if the quality there were some glue stains on it. Leather quality were not great for the price tag I only want it for the hype and regretted I paid such price for such quality
Made in Italy is same same as Made in China. Prato and Milan have direct flights from Wenzhou and Italian goods are made by Chinese with the same low wages and conditions as if they lived in China instead of Italy. And only part of the item, a strap or so, has to be made in Italy and then it’s shipped to China to be finished and can still bear the Made in Italy label. Made in Italy means nothing to me and I love visiting Italy so much. It’s sad. These videos made by Mr Leatherstein are so interesting and I don’t know why my most luxurious bag are 2 Dooney and Burkes picked up from a trash pile outside a new apartment building in Seattle.
I bought the La Pochette Rond carre last year. It arrived with glue spread underneath the bag. Since it was constantly sold ouot then restocked figured the customer service team would help. They diwere not helpful. Either I return the bag or keep it with the glue. I'll never buy Jacquemus again.
The first bag I reviewed from them was way better than this one. According to comments the quality is a wild range and it is dangerous for them in the long run
Yes, that is my hope too. Sometimes the brands' owners or executives may not be aware of the severity of the situation with rapid growth keeping them bust with many other things. I sincerely hope these reviews serve as a red flag to get their attention and fix issues of this sort to keep their reputation in the long run...
Jacquemus seems like a really crappy person. He must be aware of the poor quality but would rather line his pockets by ripping people off. I used to buy Coach bags back in the 1980’s through the 1990’s when they were made in NYC. There was even a book called “The Factory” full of photos of the skilled folks who produced beautiful bags. People who fall for the hype of designers like Jaquemus illustrate the true meaning of “A fool and her money are soon parted”.
Please, Please review the new Loui Vuitton sandwhich bag ? It does not look remotely close to $3k of quality leather whatsoever. Looks extremely bland, unoriginal.
I think there is more to it - the guy seems to be very talented and genuine with a good business approach. And their initial quality was quiet good. - But I think the problems start when brand try to grow very fast, wheels start to come off when the accelaration is too high. That may be the case here. Let's see how they will manage this because it is not sustainable if you lack the quality at that price point.
I think a lot of modern designers has this polarized view - they are either loved or hated. It is a must of unconventional looks in fashion IMO. I personally don't find this appealing to me either but I don't include my opinion on designs as it changes from person to person. I am criticizing more objectively assessable aspects of their work..., Thank you for your support!
