    Was very ono and simple. For us we added an additional tablespoon of sugar and an extra 1/2 can of coconut milk. Very close to Heiena’s. Mahalo for sharing.

    I tried it with spinach! (I like in Berlin and cannot get luau leaves). it's great! It's probably not like the original, but it's very good - I used beef (goulash) and marinated it in Korean Gochujong sauce and garlic and ginger and then slow-cooked it in beef broth for 5.5 hours, then I added in the spinach and the spices as in your video - the way the spicy meat marinade and the coco milk react to each other is spectacular. I guess it's no longer your luau squid, but your recipe was the basis so thanks and keep up the good work!

      Danke für den Tip ! Ich wollte gerade fragen, womit man luau ersetzen kann, ohne das lecker Beißerchen zu sehr zu verfälschen. Selbst in meinem AsiaLaden haben die 'seltsam' geschaut !
      Werde es mal mit Popeye's Droge versuchen :-)

    Dear Tawny, I live in Berlin where I cannot get luau leaves. But this recipe looks great. Is there any substitute for the leaves, like some kind of cabbage, or would that be do different as to make the enterprise nonsense? Don’t worry if you know no substitute. I love your videos and am making your beef curry again tomorrow it’s great - thank you

    • @OnoHawaiianRecipes
      @OnoHawaiianRecipes  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mahalo! Actually I've heard spinach can be a substitute for the leaves. It won't have that same taste as Luau leaves but it should definitely work the same. Beef curry is so yummy! Glad you like it 😊
