lol, yea taemin was supposed to be the leader, but he said he didnt want it. Which is understandable, because he had always been a maknae in his group (shinee). Yea, so his look is NOT the way he is in real life. These roles are pretty much given to them. In a recent interview with them, the other members said how off stage he is "gentle" lol. Like omg, he is soooo sweet

My guess is they portrayed Taemin as "the boss" because well.... In the kpop world he is the God Tier and despite not being quite as well known worldwide as others, Taemin is the ultimate and the goal of like all the 3rd generation Idols. He is the Idol of Idol and has been around pretty much twice as long as everyone else in SuperM. God is gathering his juniors to kick some ass! He is actually one of the kindest and sweetest people to ever grace this earth and when he isn't performing he's legit the cutest baby.

If an artist can portray the role required of him by the song/performance and he can successfully convey across to his àudience that role (especially to first timers with no biases), then I'd say that artist, among other things, have mastered his craft. You just proved this right, for taemin in person is exactly different from what you just described.

4:42 that's Taeyong. He's NCT 127's leader. He's been a part of many NCT U projects. NCT has a bit of a difficult concept to explain. There are 21 official members but are broken into different subunits. The only fixed ones are WayV and NCT 127. NCT U members change as the concept does and NCT DREAM is where the younger line debut and learn the ropes of performing and being an idol. Basically Dream members "graduate" out into other subunits as they reach the Korean age of 20 (internationally 19). I'm writing this off the top of my head so some things may be incorrect and I may have missed some things.
