    One of my friends has that horizontal antenna on her van and trying to get reception for her is a pita, i suggested to her doing this upgrade and now you have the DIY video to follow it makes it so much easier. Thanks.

    Is there a kit for mounting on the very edge of the roof and or one where it can be removed when not in use? I have very limited places because of the solar panels.
    Many thanks

      Hi Ken, not sure mate. Best to check with the supplier to see if there is something available. Cheers Adam

    We purchased a full package only 4 weeks ago and replaced our old Winegard, This new one is worse than the old one, sounds cuts in and out and picture is very pixelated, we’ve tried and checked everything, any ideas?

    • @GetCampingOz
      @GetCampingOz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching. That doesn’t sound right. Definitely should be getting better reception. First thing I would be checking is that you are getting power to the head. You can use a multimeter to check this. Second thing I would be checking is all the connections are tight and the connections have been terminated correctly. If you still can’t find the issue maybe just double check the antenna isn’t faulty by putting the original back and and testing that. Hope that helps you resolve the issue! Cheers Adam

      @@GetCampingOz thanks Adam, we will check the 12v at the head over the next day or so, unfortunately as we are currently on the road travelling we no longer have the old antenna to test.

    I just had a retro fit Winegard installed by a mate replacing an Antennatek and I still can’t get it to work it keeps coming up with ‘No Signal’ with booster button engaged . I’ve tried it in a few different areas in NSW. Ive checked all the fittings and they look and feel ok. Any ideas where it may be going wrong

    • @GetCampingOz
      @GetCampingOz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’d check your getting power to the head. If you get a multimeter and test the voltage on the coax cable where it screws on to the head, you should see 12+ bolts there. If not there would be something wrong with the line that will need to be traced back. Hope that helps

    • @campwinnietravellingaustralia

      Did you end up finding your problem. We recently replaced our old Winegard with this same model and we are getting worse sound and picture than our old one!

    I have lost signal after installing a new antenna, i think I may have damaged the cable that goes inside the caravan, is there a video that shows how to replace the cable.

    • @GetCampingOz
      @GetCampingOz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear. I don’t have one but you could try searching. Have you tested the cable to see if it’s getting power?

  • @billbee5150

    I have the same antenna on my jayco van, the cable broke off in the splitter, so I ran a new cable,and replaced the splitter with a domestic one, but no signal now, what could be the problem you think??

    • @GetCampingOz
      @GetCampingOz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unsure mate. I’d start with checking if you have power. You will need undo the coax at the head and test with a multimeter to see if your getting 12+ volts. Hope that helps

    be aware, the new models have a 4G filter and cost 1/4 more! So all those ‚on sale‘ offers are without filter, superseded model

      @@GetCampingOz sorry, was wrong, was a mean sales trick by a store to justify overpriced item. I asked country importer and was told that G4 filters were introduced to sensar 3-4 years ago, no price rise then. So they have all 4G filters in, all little sticker on the board would tell if you pull it apart

    So it looks like the mast head needs a 12 volt power supply

    • @GetCampingOz
      @GetCampingOz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 12v is provided by the coaxial cable. It is a single connection to the head. The winegard antenna wall point has 12v run to it which then powers the head.
