I still remember lines wrapped around the movie theater’s block - not the theater, the BLOCK - 4 to 5 times for nearly a year after first release. Even on the anniversary, one year after release, it was wrapped around the block once. In my opinion, there hasn’t been any actual “Star Wars” since “Rogue One”.
If I am served a sh#% sandwich at a restaurant. Then I have every right to complain about how sh#% it is, I'm paying for it after all. I should not accept it for what it is, shut up, and like it despite its horridness. Everyone has the right to voice their opinion no matter what and its our duty to call stuff out when it sucks. The chef who made the sh#% sandwich has 2 choices. Either take the criticism, understand, learn, and grow from it to make the best sandwich that everyone can enjoy or insult me, the customer, and say that I'm wrong, I'm a ist, a phoebe, and bigoted for not understanding the deliciousness of the sh#% sandwich and what ends up happening there is people stop going to the restaurant and it eventually closes down.and in the end everyone loses because that restaurant had the potential to be better, but ego and greed set in and the damage was done. George Lucas introduced a female lead that was anything but helpless... she was anything but weak... all of the girls wanted to play her at recess. You don't know how many fights were started over "I want to be the princess!" Padame started out as a queen and action hero. She was NOT a weak character at all. We were taught to see females as heroic leads... even Star Trek gave us that in the movies and Next Generation.
Speaking of, Star Trek has ALWAYS been the wokest thing on television: from the DEI of the original series, speaking out about non-binary rights in TNG, right on the noise episodes about 20th century racism in some really well written episodes in DS9. Don't forget about the reboot of Battlestar Galactica in the 2000's. Gender and race-swaps galore. But they made the swaps meaningful. The lead white male was replaced with a Hispanic actor. The black guy was replaced by an Asian female. The big-shot, ace pilot stud was turned into a straight white woman. Nobody had an issue with it. It was great entertainment. It was in many ways much better than the short-lived 70's series. But I still love them BOTH.
It's just sad that there's a generation of creatives out there that believe their sub-par skills to be EQUAL or GREATER to their "flawed" predecessors who have somehow fallen prey to bigots to explain their failures... rather than a lack of interest in the AUDIENCE and the use of THEIR legacy favorites.
The only good thing to come out of Screen Rant was Pitch Meeting.

Can someone explain me, as long as a channel doesn't promote violence or spread dangerous misinformation that could result in harm, what gives anyone the right to demand youtube punish creators who aren't breaking the site's rules? Like, how can you prove "targeted harassment"? There are whole channels dedicated to exposing or commenting on specific people who have done or are alleged to have done something, so why would criticizing a franchise and its creators warrant any such action? I sincerely don't understand by what right they are asking this.
