    I learnt this year not(!)to use brakecleaner on the clutches,swap it to isopropynol alkohol instead. I've always used brakecleaner myself but change to ipa from this season.

    Great tips!! Never thought of or heard of burning the loose threads off the track edges. Would like to seen a demo of it, do you use a standard propane torch? What about the fuel filter? What kind of tools do you carry in the back country to replace a quick drive belt?

    • @ChaseLandMgmt
      @ChaseLandMgmt ปีที่แล้ว

      I use a map gas torch or propane equivalent based on what’s full in my shop. Works pretty well, couple quick swipes and it burns the tails off.

    As usual, another informative video. Noticed you carry a spare Direct Drive belt. Would really appreciate a video covering replacement of this belt in the backcountry, or at least in your shop without any specialty tools. Since there is no tensioning/adjustment mechanism on this belt and it's a tight fit, it looks difficult to replace.

    400-500 miles, that sled is just coming out of break-in. Not a bad idea to swap out spark plugs and clean the power valves after running rich on break-in.

    Hey dan have you had motor issues with your 19 850’s in your fleet? The crank bearing has gone out twice in 500 miles on mine. Its left us in a bad situation 2x deep in the backcountry.

    • @donnaruthjack
      @donnaruthjack 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      1,400 hard riding backcountry miles on my 2019 850 and no engine problems. Recent warranty replacement of the drive axle because the center driver/sprocket was off center. Otherwise, sled has performed perfectly.

    Dan, your belt caddy? Where does one acquire a setup like that? That’s pretty sweet!

    • @NextLevelRidingClinics
      @NextLevelRidingClinics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      steveschwind It’s just the stock belt caddy. We wrap the quick drive belt around the clutch belt and zip tie it on the top and bottom. We just use a unibit to drill holes in it to lighten it up.

    Great conetent. Been following since slednecks. Quick question. When I'm sidehilling and go to turn up hill, what is the best way to get back to the neutral position? I find myself going up hill opp. foot forward. Super goofy and doesn't work.

    • @NextLevelRidingClinics
      @NextLevelRidingClinics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hater 424 Hey bud thanks for watching! A great tip when you are sidehilling and want to turn uphill is to slide your foot on the running board back. As you turn uphill make sure to let the sled lay flat a bit so it will level out. As soon as it does....this is your chance to place your foot against the hillside onto the running board and get hopped over into neutral. As soon as you do get your feet back and body forward to continue climbing. Hope this helps!!

    People don't read spark plugs anymore? Just let the ECM worry about it right? E3 plugs make a HUGE difference, I'd install them now.

      Need to keep those sleds covered if on an open deck. People think because they are in the snow all the time it's no problem getting wet when trailering but they don't realize how much more corrosion salt spray causes than just plain water. Not to mention the road sand also getting in your clutches and brakes.

      @@machine7767 sleds kept outside need covers, trailered sleds are even worse. To me that's abuse and my bikes quads and sleds are all kept in my shop locked up safe

    With your input with the oem ...please ask them to stop using every different bolt / fastener they can find ....torx are crap compared to a shouldered hex head 10 /12 mm ... fewer tools needed and less chance of stripping fasteners esp in the backcountry ....

    • @dtudor4152
      @dtudor4152 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike Gatherall
      I totally agree that if the oem used a limited number of different sized bolts and nuts /fasters we could all pack less tools and save time grabbing the wrong size wrench.

    Never use red scotch Brite near an assembled engine. The fibers are metal and get through filters and into the engine.
    Green scotch Brite is much safer.

    Still a great video but I had to laugh when he is saying use everything that Polaris has designed the machine (oil, coolant) while having an aftermarket silencer on it for the weight savings and the cooker. I do know they would make a lighter silencer if they could actually get away with it.
