A bit off the subject matter here. Having owned a Freelander 1, the control dialls become sticky to touch, like the kids had been sucking toffees and then turned all the dialls with sticky, grubby fingures. They're not to blame!
The dialls pull away, need a good wash then give them a spray of Halfords clear coat lacquer. Rejuvenated to a glossy finish.

@@L663 it didn't go too bad. The only issue is had was once I had fitted the mechanism it would only move an inch or so. After pulling it all out again and looking, the plastic slide on the track was at the top and had slid over jamming it. This was from new and wasn't expected as I dropped the window first rather than send it to the top,I checked first so I wouldn't do this lol. Thanks as this video helped a lot. Even found a strange plastic looking thing that doesn't go anywhere😬🤣

There appears to be a threaded aperture on the motor, does the bolt from the rivetted strap fit into this to hold the strap and motor in place?
