Hey John, that was so generous of you, undoubtedly you're a true & pure soul.. and of course, music needs no language, it carries the divinity & purity with it.. so true music hits the soul really hard.. for your further info, this song *Chhap Tilak* was originally written by Indian Sufi poet, singer, musician and scholar *Hazrat Amir Khusrow* almost 800 years ago in 13th century, when Pakistan was just a part of India, it is always sung in India & Pakistan with the genre of Indian classical music.. and this is not the only creation of Khusrow which is frequently sung in India & Pakistan.. you'll find so many even on TH-cam.. and what can we say about these 2 living legends.. they're just out of this world.. stay blessed..👍🏻
I discovered the Coke Studio TH-cam channel only a few weeks ago and my reaction was exactly the same. It's emotional impact is beyond anything I'd ever heard before.
Agree completely, music is totally universal. Also when masters put their whole heart into it and make the piece emote it does touch the soul at a very primal level . This piece was originally written by Ameer Khusrau (1253-1325) in the late 1200s , as an emotive transcendent tribute to his spiritual master . And obviously the love he talks about is both human and through that to the spiritual love of the divine .
I cried when I first listened to this song. It shows how true a voice is as it sways you with actually and factual raw meaning of the lyrics. Thank you for reacting to this song. :)
So refreshing to see your real and raw emotion from these two legends of music. There is only one god and when our minds are pure and free music can take us to that spiritual world. Rahat ji and Abida Ji both were outstanding. God bless you John your a good soul buddy

Pakistan and India are like yin and yang..... Hope someday we can see the submergence of these.. some day... You may say I am a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.....
This is the love of Amir Khusro for his mentor , his Guru Khawja Nizam us din Aulia. This is power of true love without any compromise just pure love for the beloved in which he sees the God and his beloved Prophet Muhammad Salal laho alyhe wasalam. I've never in ny life seen such an honest and true reaction for this beautiful soulful creation, from a non-hindi speaker.. The way you felt the song man. I don't know where you are in your life right now.. But you my friend, are going places. Much love❤
You HAVE gone to a place.

You look so emotionally touched and affected after 3:30 ... it was so visible in your face. I know, how you felt though, we all get the same emotional crunch when these legends blow our hearts and souls, believe me. So glad to see you enjoy these treasures. No words can even come close to describing what we all feel collective. Just blessed with grace and blessings to have witnessed this. Amen
An ardent fan of Abida Parvin, since the era of tape recorders. Every time I listen to her voice, can feel explosion of divine joy in my grey cells. This particular composition transcends all the boundaries of language, religion, ethnicity and even that of human existence. It's cathartic! Cleanses the blemishes of my soul and for a brief, very brief moment I can feel the presence of the divine within! Ahom Brahmasmi!!
Abida Parveen is so calm and composed. Every time she starts singing she engulfs the listeners with some kind of calmness.
Soulful meditation...
Listen Taj dar e Haram too
Coke is studio pakistan is Literally "Sound of The Nation"
I hv no sense of music, Abida Aapa always make me cry
What an amazing voice.. I am a fan of coke studio Pakistan from longtime. Listening to Sufi is kinda meditation. Soulful voice..
Bro you felt the music .. the sound of voice . That's all it is .. and the tears is result if how deep the sound and voice hits
This particular performance was probably one of the greatest live performances in music history.
Allah bless us dear...oneness
White man, either you are a very elevated soul or have a past life in the subcontinent . These are our Sufi Master artists and today there's nothing to beat Coke Studio Pakistan . You have to have Soul to feel this kind of music .
When a person cries and the tear comes out from right side of the eye, it's called tears of joy. I can totally feel what you were feeling while listening to this song.. This is when you make pure connection with your master 💞 Purest form of love... Much love from India 🕊️
Trueee
the Mightiest Master None Other than Allah swt.....
But don't trust these Americans they will do anything for money ...we people from the Asian subcontinent r very emotional and gullible

Pakistan and India are like yin and yang..... Hope someday we can see the submergence of these.. some day... You may say I am a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.....
Akhand Bharat

I second you🤚
No need to merge.. just agreeing upon one thing is sufficient... line has been drawn even if one try to erase it marks will always remain
I am with you, with your dream. ভালোবাসা
This is the love of Amir Khusro for his mentor , his Guru Khawja Nizam us din Aulia. This is power of true love without any compromise just pure love for the beloved in which he sees the God and his beloved Prophet Muhammad Salal laho alyhe wasalam. What you have experienced is a fraction of fire which Amir Khusro was going through.
When you could connect on the spiritual level, the language doesn’t matter and the tears reflect that connection ❤️
A foreigner brother who can't understand a single word without subtitles, but he feels the level of our music and he cried as well.
You won my heart man!!
God bless you and family, much love to you from P A K I S T A N 🇵🇰
OMG....!The greatest and purest ever reaction....You are a genuine soul...That is called Sufi music,it is genre of music that connects you to Divine's love...This masterpiece is about 150 years old from Nizam uddin Auliya(A sufi)Ofcourse,no one can judge these living legends...
Great comment, however this poetry and composition is closer to 900 years old. Amir Khusrau and his guru Nizamuddin Aulia lived in the 11th century.

Yeah this poetry was written in the 13tj century by Amir Khusrao and it's still so fresh
@@fakhrussalhin3149 is it Persian in origin?
@@alexi2460 no, it's Indian in origin. Parts of it are in Persian language and the rest is in Khadi Boli(Hindvi/Hindustani/Hindi). Chaap means the mark a Muslim worshipper gets due to prostration in namaaz/prayers and "Tilak" means the orange/saffron mark the Hindu priests/worshippers put on their heads. This is pure Indian poetry, it's not a 'Ghazal' btw
This is purely divine, it travels through heart by heart from heart to heart.....it heals you out from every bit inside deep into your soul with divinity...

Such a beautiful song
The beauty of this song is that the more you listen to it the more beautiful it gets...

Your reaction is so beautifully authentic and as someone from an indian asian heritage, its touching that you felt this as deeply as we do
Two of the Greatest singers in the world in the same room singing together ❤

Still crying,so in depth and indulged sir John ...what a reaction by John sir
Abida parveen is a legend of sufi singing in Pakistan. The reason for the tears of the host is the spiritual message hit his soul and that's why sufi singers are popular its all genuine. And Abida parveens voice can heal the spirit her voice is a blessing.
Music is truly universal .... I realised that when as a young child I watched Ratatouille and heard Camille sing 'Le Festin' My god....did that not blow me away!!! I couldn't understand any lyrics.... Just knew it was French... But that voice... That feel... That's for every human being to feel.
This is the beauty of music that brings the whole universe together not just different cultures. Thanks John
I appreciate you sir. You have connected spiritually to this song. Those tears are coming from the your depth and understanding of what’s been heard. You don’t have to understand the language to understand the message of love and you sir have clearly shown the love ❤️. This is the message of sufi music . To connect with the oneness within
What a beautiful man. Unafraid to cry. I respect this guy....with ALL my heart and soul. Don't care what religion he belongs to.....
when i heard this song first time i also got tears in my eyes and it shows your true love towards the music.❤✌
Sufi Music at its best. These two maestros have created a magical rendition.
I now feel somewhat proud to kinda lead him towards this direction with that Zakir Hussain comment. This is great stuff!!
Which comment?
In his Shofukan video
Music is universal language. If aliens are even out there, they would still. Understand tthe feel of it.
Any comment or reaction from anyone is superfluous. The depth and breadth of this work is as vast as it is deep.
He was trying to hide his tears but how it is possible to hide such joyful tears when you are listening to these divine souls ♥️

Two Maestros
Seen many reactions to this masterpiece and people talk about the delivery and art and how powerful their voices are but this reaction seems so pure and real..I get goosebumps everytime listen to this gem.
this song is highly Hindu phobic. For the same reason this song's performance was stopped in IIT Kharagpur.
Google about its true meaning.
