I understand your feelings as this is my 3rd dog
I have grown up with dogs and I also thought that cage is not good but after researching and talking to trainers and professionals I came to know that Crate training is a very healthy way to train a dog and give them comfort. Please do your research dont go with my words.
By the way Beagles can sleep uninterrupted when they're in the cage.😊
