      @@Leperealuke a perfect game is where no one gets on base, a no hitter is where no one gets a hit, so if you walk someone or there is an error it would take away from the perfect game but not the no hitter

    As a Cubs fan I can tell you anytime I've seen a no-hitter from the other pitcher we stand up and cheer like crazy. I don't get it

      I thought the first baseman did worse than Escobar. The throw was definitely low, and it's fair that Escobar got an error for it, but most first basemen would have dug that out and saved it anyway.

    Only other pitcher to do this was Nolan Ryan. Ryan set the record of 17K's in a no hitter back in 1973. Also, Nolan too had 2 no-no's that year.
    I wonder what prank the last batter would have pulled if they knew more Baseball history. Nolan Ryan was dominating the Detroit Tigers in the summer of 73. He was so unstoppable that Norm Cash, a former batting champ, came to the plate in the 9th as the last batter swinging a table leg instead of a bat. When the umpire threatened to throw Cash out of the game if he didn't get a real bat he replied "I'm 0-3 and I'm not going to hit it anyway, so what's the harm?"

    I'm a Braves fan, I was at Turner Field in 2004 when the Big Unit tossed that perfect game against us, as awesome as that performance was, I feel that this performance by Scherzer was even more awesome than that...

    Second time Max was robbed of a perfect game. Escobar messed up the throw in this one and Tabitha leaned into the pitch in the game again the Pirates
