- Benito Molina is a Mexican superstar chef from Mexico City who decided to leave the big city behind for a fresh new start-and when we mean fresh, we do mean fresh: fresh fish, fresh wine, fresh air, and the fresh ocean.
Benito's restaurant, Manzanilla, resides in Ensenada, Baja California and they prepare, obviously, the freshest food out there. Benito takes us to Ensenada's fish market-which is basically just across the street from his restaurant and is where he gets his everyday ingredients-and then shows us La Guerrerense, where you can find the damn best street food in the world ... or at least that's what the multiple international prizes that they have won have to say.
We also head down to Hussong's, Mexico's first cantina ever which actually has a replica in Las Vegas, and then get some cold ones at Wendtland, a local brewery. Finally, it's back to Manzanilla for a huge party with norteño music, friends, and delicious calamari tacos.

Easily one of the most enjoyable chefs night out. Nothing too crazy or over the top, just a chef in his town with his close friends. He was so humble and kind, I must visit Ensenada!

I've been eating ceviche tostadas from that corner lady since before I can remember my Tia lives about a ten min walk from her stand and we've been visiting Baja all my life. Love this episode munchies brings me back to my childhood days. But your translator needs a refresher in Mexican slang.

mi comentario esta un poco tarde ( 1 año ) pero parte de esto es show y parte es realidad.
entre los cocineros de alto nivel siempre te encontraras personas como Benito, incluso mas agresivos y groseros.
es por el simple motivo que cada platillo que sale de su restaurante, cada chef que es acuñado bajo su tutela se convierte en una extensión de ellos mismos, en MasterChef MX he visto algunos HORRORES, en cosas básicas que un ama de casa sabe de norte a sur.
si quieres adentrarte un poco en como son los Chefs en general puedes ver una pelicula llamada Burnt (ingles), De una buena receta (español).
es solo un vistazo a comportamientos de Chef, recuerda que mientras mas afamado sea el Chef mas personas de dinero irán a su restaurante, y mientras mas de esas personas vayan a comer mas perfecto tiene que ser todo, una sola cagada que hagas en la cocina y cambias el sabor de todo, un solo elemento que se te pase o lo agregues a destiempo ya cambio tu platillo al 100%.
en masterchef los hacen ver como que son pendejos y sus platillos son de pinche fonda asi todo basico pero en realidad son cabrones en la cocina
