More specific question, if my map says I have say 1 Diamond black bear, does that mean there is currently a diamond on the map somewhere. Or is there a "pool" of spawns and every time I kill any male black bear there is a chance it will respawn as my 1 diamond.
Just trying to figure out the best way to find a diamond, should I shoot every Diamond I see, or try and search the whole map for the 1 diamond.

Thank you i finally got the files now mayb ill get back into this game. I only get excited for super rares now and they so rare i lost intrest in playiing. 3yrs in now and look at my lodges lol. Esp on ps4. I cant wait to get used to this only play maps with good rare population on it.
I need help I downloaded this 3 tines and kept re doing this and for hirschfelden, meved and some other maps they say they can't scan the file even though I played and have the populations layton lake, vurhonga and some other work but some don't... what should I do?

think the new update broke this reset method. Like apparently the population file is saved on the studio server that can't be modified via local. and potentially the only way to reset diamond spawns from now on is to kill 'em all lol. expecting mods to fix this tho

When I do a manual download it does'nt download a zip folder, onlu a normal folder that i can't open. Why is it so? Do anyone know?

How do I actually get this to work ?? I download it from nexus but the only thing I get from the download is a read me open file
I would like to know how many animals total there is when you start/buy a new reserve and then compare it to how many there are after finding a bunch of need zones, some restarts and some time.... (if there's any difference)
The difference in the number of animals is only 3-5.
If you start Layton Lakes for instance and you have 3600 animals, you will never drop below 3695 animals. This is also species-specific best I can tell. iIf you start Layton with 3600 animals and 470 are whitetail deer, you shouldn't ever drop below say 465 whitetail deer even if specifically hunting ONLY whitetail deer.
If you harvest 6 animals
Harvest 1: Blacktail Male Rank 4
Harvest 2: Whitetail Female Rank 2
Harvest 3: Coyote Male Rank 6
Harvest 4: Mallard Male rank 3
Harvest 5: This harvest triggers a respawn of harvest 1 (A Blacktail Male rank 4 +fractions of trophy points often directly back into the very herd you shot it from potentially resulting ina diamond. (see Note)
Harvest 6: triggers respawn of harvest 2 and so on.
Anyone claiming to run out of a particular species has pushed the species out of an area by pressure (easy) or spooking that animal to another area (more difficult but possible) Often into areas that have been less travelled if travelled at all. It may take several cycles to get animals of that type back to that area.
If you have a lot of Elk need zones for example you may find it increasingly more difficult to get new elk need zones to pop anywhere else, you may have to deliberately cull need zones to get them to return elsewhere, but there is no real solid method for doing this, although I have had some luck with some methods.
Having blotches of bright pink Pepto Bismol in an area where you once saw a high scoring gold species attached to a need zone is a slow and torturous way of making diamonds appear where you can predict them.
I would suggest having an area on each map that you can deep pressure without risk. This way you can go there pressure the hell out of it and lower the pressure in your intended prescribed and predicted area for the upcoming diamond harvest.
Do you plan on adding a way to check for great ones? I'm really curious on whether or not I have a great one anywhere.
I don't think they ever added great ones to the scanner
@@MadAboutTutorials I actually learned that they have. I ended up finding one eventually and it says something like "A great one may be on your map! Good luck hunting it!" and it shows if its in a group or not. It's pretty neat.
I reset my parque and it showed me I had a max weight red deer 271 score. I truly thought that was a Lv10 but it was a 265 Score.
So I guess with antler species bcos score varies it just shows you the maximum potential. Which makes sense.
It would be awesome if the creator deleted the females off it though unless they can make diamond.
That way we will have a better idea of rares.
Or split the population males and females. That would be awesome.
I wish I wish I could talk to the genius who created this mod.
Those cheats are MEH. Most people who do this could do that. But I think it takes extra skill to pull this off.
The cheats are already on the game dev tools or something. So its just unlocking them for general use.
But I don't think the devs even have the scanner well msyb but they obviously don't use it cos they could easily bug check with it.
Remeber female diamond moose and 1600 score reindeer on quick check of this scanner could have saved us all.
I feel like I've earned the right to use this mod lol. I played 2yrs console only. Then 1yr pc. So 3yrs total killed every diamond multiple times. So I'm only intrested in super rares now. So its nice to know the map im on isn't a waste of time.
Also when rare fur bugs pop up we will know first. We'll see the 1% or higher. Like piebald gaitor right now.
I had one lake with 6 piebald males. #7 was common. 6 of 7 were rares in one lake lol. I wish it had a 9.
I think ill chase a piebald diamond gaitor next once I've got what I'm chasing now.
I'll reset my population until multiple lv9 gaitor spawn if ever. I have a Lv8 diamond gaitor on this map apparently. That'll be cool if I can find it. Its heavier than a troll lv9 too. So they are bugged.

A question i have Download it and it Shows Animal Icons on the Map. What Do they Mean? Is that a active Needing zone? I ask because there is a Red Deer Icon near the Shooting Range but i Never See any singhs of them in the south of Hirschfelden
this scanner doesn't show where you will find them, animal spawns will heavily depend on your need zones, and hunting pressure.

@@Hokatoman i think it just shows you where need zones may be to hint ive noticed it just highlights the need zones you have already located and the greyed out ones are where common drink zones are
my folders within the zip file are all called ''dropzone'
How do you interpret the rare fur type info?
I haven't looked at rare furs, TBH I didn't even know the app did show rare furs.

My app doesn't have any options under my c:/ file. It just hast he drop down, the file underneath and then no animal_population_0
I’m pretty sure if the game is downloaded through gamepass it doesn’t work. I’m having the same issue and I’ve tried multiple ways mentioned in other videos. I’m able to find my number but no way to enter it or open any of the files in the app itself.
Hey Mate, I'm trying to download the mod from Nexus for steam but I can't really figure out how to do it I have downloaded 7zip but when I download the mod the zip file doesn't seem to appear? Maybe I have taken a wrong step?
Should just download the zip file, then open it up, check your downloads folder, extract to your desktop or where you want to run it from and run the exe.

What can I do to be able to trust the numbers I am given? Because currently, I do not trust these.
WOW... I'd say its reading high golds as diamond. Keep in mind this app hasn't been updated since the latest patches, so stats might have skewed since then. Also, I only ever used it as a guide, don't take it as gospel.
well more than likely they are the ducks and small game you can click the animal you wish and go down and get more info on whats diamond ussually if it says diamon its a diamond! it may be off a little with tru racs as the info page describes but i havnt had it tell me there was a diamond when there wasnt
I cant get it to work when i launch and select my map it doesnt auto select the population file. i tried manually navigating to it but when i got to documents there was only video and music no avalanche

When you are on the correct user profile in the file explorer, instead of going to documents try going to the OneDrive folder instead. It should show documents there and then on to Avalanche Studios and so forth.

My population doesn't look like yours or like any of the other users apps. Do someone have any idea what the cause can be?
It doesn't have pictures of the animal or the place where I'm hunting. Not even those three orange buttons. They're only ? signs
I think your save game might be stored in a different location? You might have to search for it and point the app to it.

You right click the file and select open file with program: Select an unzip program. Not to be rude but if you're asking this question you probably don't have a free software to unzip files. It doesn't come standard on computers.

Hi I've tried to download it multiple times but I only get a text document with big letter A on peice of paper.
Not a zipped file.
I tried to download other mods to see and some worked gave me a zipped file but most just gave the text document.
Any ideas?
when opening the scanner my save location isnt auto selected. if i try and manually reach it, it stops me at documents where my only options are "my videos" "my music". ive uninstalled and reinstalled countless times and quite frankly am beyond annoyed. please help.
Right-click on your Documents folder in the windows file explorer. Select 'Properties'. Check the 'Location:' entry. This is the true location of the folder. Navigate there inside the scanner.

From my research, when you kill a gold, it will have a chance to respawn a diamond

Not sure, it may be that you haven't populated they map yet?

"WFX_Malice" must first load in to each map to populate it .

your save game data might not be stored in the default location, locate that folder, open the app, click the drive letter that your saves are on, and continue navigating to your saves folder.
whats the blue circle on the map...is that location of diamond?

you just unzip the application to your desktop or My documents or anywhere you want to keep it, then you just open the application. No install or set up required

Not sure what you mean, but I'm assuming you don't have an app to unzip them. Get Winrar or 7zip or something like that to extract the files

Resetting the population forces the game to respawn fresh animals and balance back out the numbers. This is required if you only hunt gold and diamonds.

Can't you populate diamonds by harvesting the male population of the species? For example; wouldn't farming male whitetail bucks spawn a diamond eventually?
That's was what the statistics were showing when we ran it.
@@MadAboutTutorials Right, that is how I understood diamonds to work as well, before I even heard of this prog. I have never "refreshed" an animal population file on my main account with all the DLC. I have only done so on the base game on a puppet account for testing purposes.
I farm diamonds pretty well without it.
My method is arguably slower, you still have to _find_ and shoot them even with resetting.
The _find_ animal and need zone counterpart I have already done, so resetting for me is a step backwards.
I'm at around 1+diamond for every 2 hrs of gametime using my method. I don't have a Matmat display without a diamond or rare fur in it, and I am slowly replacing non diamond furs where I can. I find diamond+rare fur to be the rarest combination.
@@penname8380 1 diamond per 2 hours is good stats, I was lucky to get 1 per week when I was playing this game regularly. I should mention that resetting your population doesn't affect needs zones, tents or stands. Everything on the map remains, including your hunting pressure.
@@MadAboutTutorials It's not bad, and that is an average. You're right. Resetting population doesn't affect tents, purchased or placed hunting stands/blinds. It doesn't delete, reset, replace or remove need zones, but it does detach them from the animals it was previously locked to even if the same zones later become the new ones for the new species. I tested this so dramatically I had to take a 2 month break from the game. I nearly filled a 70 page college rule notebook with the information i gathered.
I am 100% convinced that animals and need zones are connected via groups, but it's not game breaking or bug creating.
Does this mean that the need zone placed by a mountain lion on an SRP lake for 0600-0800 is useless? No, it still stands as a reference to that species time for drinking. If you go to that lake looking for a mountain lion between 0600-0800 you will most likely find a mountain lion, but there is no guarantee it will be in the same exact location it has been in for the last several days in a row it is certainly not the same distinctly referenced animal so it will have been given a separate set of waypoint instructions based on it's spawn time when the player first logs back into that region for the first time or since reset.
Does it mean a new mountain lion won't come to the lake? No. It's almost a certainty that a species that visited a drinking location prior to pop reset will show up for a drink at that time at that lake. Perhaps not the same spot as before as the spawn of that animal might be different enough to change it's route. Definately not the same animal. You may find that the lake with a single bear at noon might after reset to now be 3 bears at noon or visa versa. Before reset you might have had 159 bears on the map at anytime, bow you might have 210 or maybe 110. RNG at play.
Need zones are most definately attached to specific animal groups whether it is a loner or an actual group of 2 or more.
Otherwise the same group would not return time and time again to the same location, from the same location and leave via the same route heading to the same next waypoint. A respawn can be a loner detached from or attached too a group, and a group missing a member will respawn that member (different score, different fur, etc) and automatically be given "need zone" privileges of the group.
An albino moose that is spotted feeding at a need zone today between 1700-2100 will be here tomorrow at the same time in the same place +/- a few meters. But it will be there. If you shoot it it will be replaced with it's respawn with the same location and time, but not the same trophy rating, weight or fur. Although not imposible.
If you were to just watch a group arrive and leave, and follow that group without disturbing it, it will follow the same path every day without alteration except in cases of predator and prey, including the player. Not game trail pathing but pretty close.
Using this you can set up hunting equipment to "ambush' any species in the game aside from birds, except turkey and pheasant. If you see bison roaming through an area...mark the time and the wind, be there tomorrow and witness it again from a better vantage point.
Now say you have been doing this to a group of Mule deer. Aside from any predatory changes in routes they will follow the same paths well within calling range if they don't walk right under or past you... BUT, resetting population changes that group, the new group will have a new pathing based on randomly generated spawn times for new maps or reset populations.
This explains why my need zones on a map will slightly differ from your need zones on the same map, more dramatically near the outer edges unless the outer edges is water. General area applies though, as species are still regional.
Example: Everyone will find Water buffalo on the east side of Parque fernando, but unless they have been pushed with multiple players noone should ever see water buffalo in the west side of the map except in the far north. Same goes for all species aside from duck and geese.
I doubt anyone will be harvesting a European bison in Rathenfeldt, or a Sika Deer in Taumata.
As far as safe goes resetting animal pop is mostly harmless and IMO only really serves to speed up diamond harvesting. Nothing wrong with that really, it could be explained IRL by the use of hunting guides, trail cams.

is there actually a mod that tracks all the animals? i saw 1 piebald red deer and i wanna find it again. i also wanna observe how the AI is programmed, i think it would be very interesting.
Reset the time to when you saw it and have the shrub skill thing on, go to the area you saw it and look for the tracks to find feed zone or drink zone etc

ame\documents\......) That is assuming you have a stock install of Windows, which many do not. Example, the \user and \ProgramData folders could be isolated on their own magnetic partition to keep it off of SSD which cuts writes to the SSD greatly. (There is good reason to do this) It also makes for tidy automated backup. But those doing that will figure this out okay. :)
for me there's no Avalanche Studios so its just like c:/Users/User and then no avalanche studios

Thanks I downloaded winzip and it came up on screen use this to download or something. Then it worked. Loving it now.
I do feel alittle cheaty but 8hrs into a map finding nothing hardly even finding anything Lv4 male. This mod is brilliant.
It showed me layton really does suck that much lol.
I cannot wait to data log respawns so I can finally find out if it works or not. I dont think it does work not for the oldest maps.
I'm thinking the game has need zome 1 to 100 say. The scanner shows up the list. If the diamond is in slot 10 mayb that is zone 10?
I have a female diamond fox on my map it says my og map too. Nine Lv5 raccoons lol. But 7 of them score gold.
My layton medved and spr have 0 diamonds. Not even even many golds.

So this is a life saver it truly is. They designed this game to be insane addictive the way it is. Now we are fighting back.
