Id say B+ for her heirloom its smooth animation and the effects are nice but they missed out on alot of opportunities when it comes to animation with horizon. Id love to see her get a few more animation. Her crouching animation should of been where she pulls out Newt aka the black hole robot and hugs and inspects it. Another should of been where she holds a picture of her son and a voice line for it.
I play primarily horizon, but I'm feeling like it might just not be worth it, it feels like the team was much more half hearted with the animations on this than many recent heirlooms. Crypto, valk loba wattson and seer all come to mind as better unfortunately.

Haven’t been impressed with a loom since seers the intricacies and the way it smoothly moves has left it’s impression. I’m shocked to say that ash was more interesting to me than horizons … never thought I would say that lol.
Ash's has "quirky" animations, yea, but it was a miss as well. Loba, Seer and Crypto were the last decent ones and Seer was kinda basic in its design - less fun than the "generic" weapons that Bang, Gibby, or Bloodhound use, even. Good animations, though.

This heirloom is actually really cool. The melee animations were on point in 3rd person, not to mention the Nessie animation. I think this is an A+ for the creative team. I can't believe people have been hating on this. I get it, everyone has been shitting on it since they heard the word Mace, but I for one am really glad there is some variety. But horizon is definitely an A and one of my favorites. Some ideas that come to mind for me which we should start asking for in a respectful way from Respawn is upgrades to heirlooms. Maybe more / better animations and interactions, everyone always highlights how they want it to do cool things while flicking it so maybe upgrade the flick animations across the board. I heard another idea which I like the most it’s what if Horizons mace morphed into a Sword and a Saber. Then I had the idea, what if heirlooms morphed like animated weapons based on the number of kills/damage you do, that could be horizons morphs some others wouldn’t be that crazy but just add some special effects to the heirloom. And your imagination can really run wild here on how heirlooms can morph based on kills/damage. And how each morph could have different animations/inspects/flicks/voice lines. Would really evolve the whole heirloom system. And think people would finally be happy instead of complaining and comparing every heirloom.
Yup same expectations as ash heirloom. As an ash main, the loom has honestly grown on my a lot. I’m sure this will grow on people too. People hated lobas too and now they love it. Give it time. This heirloom is pretty cool.

It's a cool concept. It's clean. Doesn't obstruct vision. Inspect spam is okay. Pretty solid overall but I can't help but see this as a reskin of Rampart's heirloom? The way she holds it and the inspect spam... just seems very unoriginal. Also pretty limited # of inspect animations compared to the recent heirloom releases. I'd give it a solid 7/10.
Agreed. 3/4 of the inspect animations are pretty plain. The best one in my opinion being the one that expands the black hole (with or without the nessies) and floats by itself. And otherwise nothing too special. I couldn't find any rare equip animations but those could just be hidden away really well behind RNG. From what I was reading with dataminers / insiders was that the heirloom got pushed back / delayed even. presumably there were issues with maybe some of the animations or effects. Hoping to see maybe 1-2 more animations added for it. One thing that was fun was she gives the heirloom a pat on the back after meleeing which was a fun little thing. Otherwise it reminded me a lot of Rampart's too when I bought it and took it to the firing range.

As a horizon main this hurts, i honestly wished they would just make something simple and clean so it matches her fluent playstyle and still sum crazy since she literally calls out a blackhole with her ult. So i wished they made gloves, with these gloves she can controll matter with her hands and create singularitys and shiii
They've had about a 50:50 hit/miss on heirlooms recently. Loba and Crypto were absolutely amazing, Seer was OK on design, good on animations, Horizon, Ash, & Wattson were the biggest misses by a lot - and beating Pathfinder's "boring" boxing gloves in a race to the bottom is really saying something. At least his boxing gloves have some character in a way that makes sense, and can be used in a fight in a way that makes sense. Nunchucks (not a combat weapon), a price scanner, and a shoddy mace like this in the hands of a scientist (sans animations that would make it stand out -- like Lifeline's shock sticks, for example), are super underwhelming.
One gripe for me is the sound design. It’s a bit high pitch at times with the spikes. Would have preferred for some asmr button clicking and black hole warping noises when she swings it. Also def should have put more of the inspect animation stuff into the normal animations. Switching the malice from black hole mode to spikes only like wraith switching grips should be something on command. Just something with a little more fidget potential. I know lots of works goes into this stuff so I don’t want to complain too much. And I’m a horizon main so I will be wanting this very bad either way haha
i just got my first shard pack since ive moved to pc, and been thinking what to get? i mainly play Path, Horizon, bang on occasions and loba when there's no support in team. im getting mixed feelings with horizon's heirloom as for path some say it bothers your view in a way plus ive tried it when we were able to get heirlooms with a certain glitch back then. but yeah top 2 mains i play is horizon and path.. stopped using wraith coz i prefer movement a legend that can get height easily esp that helps team mates get heights as well. i feel like its pointless posting my comment but i really would appreciate some opinions towards path's heirloom or horizon's, coz rn im leaning more on horizon's.

I have saved my heirloom shards for over half a year to finally get a horizon heirloom, and it ends up being one of it not the ugliest heirloom in the entire game along with some of the most unappealing animations in the game. Personally I am extremely disappointed, they could have done so much better 😭😭

Definitely one of the cooler heirlooms. People don't like the inspects but who is constantly inspecting anyway? What matters are the running/sliding animations and her's are some of the best. It probably takes 3rd place behind wraith and bangalore.

A cool animation would have been if she flung the black hole orb and it kind of hovered above the ground, deconsructing and ingulfing any bit of terrain shes standing on/near, and then reconstructing when she kind calls the orb back onto the shaft... This is probably confusing af lol
Love the look of the heirloom generally. Think it makes way more sense for Horizon than some of the recent heirlooms BUT I do kinda wish there was a black hole suck them in for the final hit sort of effect or something.

for something that worth $500 i will say it is uninspired, disappointing and a huge let down, i was expecting an edged weapon, like a rapier, even the gravity dagger sound fitting, but a mace? gibraltar already has a mace, bloodhound has an axe, horizon seems like a "no attitude" middle brother between those. They said they were going to give apex legends support for 10 years, after 4 they lose me now, 1 and a half year saving the materials for an heirloom i would like, i fell in love with horizon abilities, they nerf her, they give her this piece of junk, im done.

I've been a Horizon main since she was released and I've been really looking forward to her heirloom. After getting it yesterday, I'm pretty disappointed with it and I'd say it's barely a 7/10
There were so many choices when it came to ideas and directions for this. What they chose wasn't the worst, but its turned out to be massively disappointing. The colors feel wrong, the shape feels like it's missing something, and the animations are lack luster. It feels rushed and like an afterthought. I don't main Horizon, if I did I'd be pretty upset after having to wait so long. Its B tier at best, for the money they are charging its insulting.

for something that worth $500 i will say it is uninspired, disappointing and a huge let down, i was expecting an edged weapon, like a rapier, even the gravity dagger sound fitting, but a mace? gibraltar already has a mace, bloodhound has an axe, horizon seems like a "no attitude" middle brother between those. They said they were going to give apex legends support for 10 years, after 4 they lose me now, 1 and a half year saving the materials for an heirloom i would like, i fell in love with horizon abilities, they nerf her, they give her this piece of junk, im done.
Do you expect they give her a stick and call it a day meanwhile a mace which is where scottish people created and more cooler

Imo the heirlooms have really gone down since Seer’s. I got the Caustic mythic but can say I have been very underwhelmed by the paid content of Apex lately

I've been a Horizon main since she was released and I've been really looking forward to her heirloom. After getting it yesterday, I'm pretty disappointed with it and I'd say it's barely a 7/10
There were so many choices when it came to ideas and directions for this. What they chose wasn't the worst, but its turned out to be massively disappointing. The colors feel wrong, the shape feels like it's missing something, and the animations are lack luster. It feels rushed and like an afterthought. I don't main Horizon, if I did I'd be pretty upset after having to wait so long. Its B tier at best, for the money they are charging its insulting.
I wish I had money and that it wasn't extremely expensive in my currency , or shards to get it after the event
You could not make an heirloom more mid than this . I'm so angry at this joke of an heirloom there were probably so many concepts to choose from and you chose a mace ?????? something science related or even a new concept of like field of gravity around her but goddamn mace ...MID.
Only thing that could have been better was a lightsaber but that would be too similar to crypto and a pen would have be worse imo it’s not bad

@@danielade6279 Honestly a light saber would have been cool af and I definitely think they could have done that without being too similar to crypto, a katana is a different kind of blade. Its like how both gibby and bloodhound both have axe type weapons . plus even a taser, a retractable laser knife or a robot mix with multiple blades might have been more fitting
