    i’ve owned a few Honda street vans, few mitsubishi bravos, 1 sambar van , and 2 Hijet vans.
    the honda street is the best all around driving vans there is. they have the highest top speed also, easiest to work on.

    So, i Had the same idea of the Mitsubishi in the beginning since here in KCMO. Its a plus to have 5 gears if you live here, but then you showed the Honda, which even I liked already. The Honda is CLEAN and actually has more of the JDM personality, which I fell in love with from when I owned a Mitsubishi Starion.

    • @Waybeforethefame

      The Honda and Mitsubishi are basically the same just some small little pros and cons on both.

    Paused at 10min mark!
    Tough call.
    My focus would be daily driver + car camping, LOVE me some car camping; so a moon roof would be a game changer.
    Probably the Subaru, the bare-bones features but still has the AC / 4WD button, but the final call is your comment that it's engine is easier to work on, and these old boys might need some TLC going forward.

    Prefer Honda Kei-van to drive around.
    But I would chose Subaru vivio (660) RXR...4x4 and super charger, it's mini sized imprezza wrx. If those are in good conditions, feel sports car while you're driving, and can hear growling calm but savage engine sounds...

    I'm not a Van Fan but the Honda has the most bang for the buck. If the Subaru had everything the honda had, I would pick the Subaru as I am infatuated with the 4cyl engine. The Subaru, as it is, would make a good business van. That said, if I had the money to spend, the Subaru Vivio would be my pick of the bunch, especially if it was 4wd.

    I have been watching your Kei vehicle adventures for some time and you have piqued my interests in acquiring one. I currently have a JDM 1989 Nissan Atlas truck which does the job but it requires the same maintenance schedule (IE plugs ,points ,condenser every 10K miles)that american vehicles required before the advent of electronic computerized ignition and fuel management being standard in all vehicles . The engine is a small 4 cylinder not that different than the Nissan vehicles sold in the USA and I reasonable expect the truck to last at least 100K plus miles but the 10K maintenance schedule is a Pain ! The questions I have :
    1)Do the Kei vehicles you have shown have a modern computerized ignition/fuel management allowing for a LONG maintenance schedule ?
    2)Since they have a small 3 cylinder typically what would be the minimum life expectancy of the mechanics ?

    • @Waybeforethefame
      @Waybeforethefame  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      not sure what your really asking? but if you're main question is if kei cars are reliable to lost a long time i would say no. These are 25+ year old little work trucks and cars, as someone thats owned over 10 i buy them for fun and to be different. i dont think any car thats 25+ years old kei car or not is good enough for a long maintenance schedule

    • @tony64t
      @tony64t ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been interested in the Toyota Hiace for awhile. My main reasons for being interested in these cars are the cars' reputation for reliability, their relatively low miles, and the perception that the Japanese take better care of their cars.
      If I pay $10 to 20K for one, I'm expecting some bulletproof reliability and longevity!

  • @nathangoshawk
    @nathangoshawk ปีที่แล้ว

    Ok, I'm going to be serious about this - I even took notes!
    The Sanbar is in great condition but so basic, in fact it looks like a work bus for four guys and their tools, but what the hell was it used for? There doesn't even look as if there's a single, serious scratch on the load deck at the back. Certainly a good basis for customising.
    The Bravo is a much better specification, reasonable condition and a nice colour, altogether a much nicer place to be. Should respond well to a good clean.
    And then the Honda Street. Certainly the best looking van both inside and out, high spec' and good colour, and yet...........I'm not happy about the fact it's slower than the other two, how much slower is it acceleration wise? I suppose it's a product of advancing age but I don't want to be 'that old fart in a van' holding everyone else up.
    So, for me, it would be the Mitzubishi Bravo and I recon, with a bit of effort, it could be a real 'looker'.

    • @Waybeforethefame
      @Waybeforethefame  ปีที่แล้ว

      The sambar would be used here to do mail routes or an east camper build. The bravo and street both would be great daily drivers
