  • Heyy Guys!!!
    You guys have been asking me what I did to my hair and here it is. This is NOT a sponsored video. This is just my holy grail for lightening my hair.
    Enjoy Babes🌹
    More Info:
    What may work for me may not work for everyone else. This product does not break nor damage my hair. I’ve been using this for a year now and haven’t had breakage or dryness. But again what works for me may not work for you. “Sun In” is permanent. I apply it to my hair when it’s freshly washed and dry not wet or damp. I just spray till the area is saturated and I don’t blow dry my hair with this product in it. I rise it out after with cold water and I always pair it afterwards with a deep moisture mask cause it can dry your hair. In the video I brushed out my hair so the color can be shown better because when it’s wet it looks darker. My hair is healthy and as long as you moisturize and not do it often your hair would have no effect. I bought mine at Walgreens but you can also get it anywhere such as Walmart, CVS, Publix etc.

    The active ingredient in sun-in is hydrogen peroxide, the same thing in developers used to activate hair lighteners, colors and high lifts.

      YES! But lighteners use it at a much higher concentration.

    You are right about not having to use expensive products when we have other natural cheaper things around. You can use straight lemon juice concentrate or from the actual fruit. Go in the sun and that will lighten up or a blow dryer or even a hooded dryer. However, you must keep the hair moisturized because lemons will dry your hair and cause damage especially around the edges. Moisturize moisturize moisturize.

    I'm honestly going to try this because I don't actually wanna dye my hair but if you have a relaxer don't use this! My mom used this back in the day when she had a relaxer and it made her hair fall out because of the combo. Be safe out here lol.

    The second ingredient in this product is Hydrogen Peroxide. The chemical used as part of the formulation for hair dye. This is where the lift comes from.

    Sun-In does not work with hair dryers ..Just an fyi for all y'all who are about to listen to this woman and fry your hair onto the floor. It works with uv rays from the Sun. The product has peroxide in it which is a lightening agent and very drying & damaging (esp on hair of ppl of color, natural or relaxed). There may not be a faster way to ensure hair breakage than this except perhaps a relaxer. I used to be a hairstylist & the amount of hair damage you'd see from products like these was crazy on both white and black ppl because once put on it "bakes in" in the Sun. There is no neutralizing involved so it just continues to fry your hair. Those precious ends that already need to be babied because it's the oldest part of your hair become dry, brittle, & susceptible to unnecessary damage and breakage. Don't be sheep ladies, do your own research and don't just listen to ppl who have everything to gain from video views.

      Carmen L. What do you recommend for lighting or dying hair. I am natural and i don’t want to damage my hair. My hair can get dry very quickly at times, especially my ends.

    • @carmenl.532
      @carmenl.532 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@mnmmo2923 I just saw your msg now, sorry for the late reply. There is no way to 100% ensure no damage when you're lightening. The process of lightening itself is damaging by breaking down bonds. But if you're 100% natural and looking for reddish or coppery hues the best way would be to use henna. If you're looking for Blonde highlights like the girl in the video there is no way to achieve that without lifting color, and that's the damaging part. So, just make sure you're starting with healthy hair that is not dry and is free of damage. You never want to lighten hair that's already dry. You also want to "prep" for it by doing several conditioning treatments prior to the lift and you'll want to do several after. And make sure to keep your moisture sealed in with a good oil. There are also a lot of really good highlight sprays on the market now. I would suggest starting with one of those before something permanent. Those can be fun and you can play with different colors and tones and best of all zero chance of damage. Hope this helps ☺.

    I tried that bs and my hair I hasn't been the same since. It strips your hair of its natural nutrients and it DOES I repeat DOES HAVE CHEMICALS IN IT. My beautician even confirmed that. My hair turned red/brown and had to get cut off because it dried it out and messed up my natural curly texture. Words of advice look at the person on the bottle... IF YOU'RE NOT WHITE OR HAVE THEIR TEXTURE OF HAIR, DON"T USE IT!!!!!!!!!!! Save your time, money, energy, and the damage you will get from it. Have a lovely day

    Your hair is gorgeous! I hate to break it to you tho but the active ingredient in Sun In is hydrogen peroxide. That's the active ingredient in developer (the thing that lightens hair.) That's why bleaching powders work. Bleaching powders usually contain a few ingredients that help reveal the cuticle & allow the hair to lighten with continuity versus applying a straight liquid such as developer (which activates the bleach.) Sun In contains water, hydrogen peroxide, aloe, lemon juice & chamomile. I could go into the long details about ph & acid versus alkaline and why the ingredients are there but it'd be dull lol. You can actually make that concoction at home if u wanted to & save your $3 but your hair looks amazing!

Though I do make sure to wash and condition my hair when it gets to the color I want. After applying it, I make sure not to fall asleep without washing my hair. • @carmenl.532
      @carmenl.532 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Za'Kameleon that's part of the problem with ppl listening to so called "gurus" that have no actual education in what they're speaking about. Just cuz someone has a channel doesn't mean they know what they're talking about. Ppl see someone do something on TH-cam & listen to them like they're actual professionals. Sun-In was a popular highlighting spray for white ppl in the 70s, 80s & 90s. Spray it on go in the Sun & the uv rays work with the active ingredient to lighten the hair. While her color did turn out cute, her hair is not without damage and as a former hairstylist, it's very noticeable. Her hair when black had luster and sheen. Her her ends after lightening are fried and damaged, exactly like those white folks I used to see back in the day that used it. Would not advise any person of color to put this in their hair. Your ends (the oldest part of your hair) will become brittle and eventually you'll see breakage.

    It’s funny how some people say that hydrogen peroxide will damage your hair, but doing anything to alter your hair’s appearance will cause damage, so everything needs to be done in moderation. Wearing a tight pony tail is bad your hair, using cheap shampoo is bad for your hair, using heat tools will damage your hair, being in the sun for too long on a hot day will damage your hair, swimming in the ocean will damage/dry out your hair, coloring or bleaching your hair, almost everything causes damage to the hair. It’s dead so what do you expect? Just don’t put the sun-in directly on your scalp, and wash your hands when you’re done applying it.

      The product is called Sun-In, which is a Spray-In Hair Lightener in Lemon Fresh. You can use it on dry hair, blowdrying it to seal it. You can find it in Walmart and also find it on Amazon for like 6 bucks.

    Alikay Naturals Lemongrass spray does this also. I used it one summer and was asked daily if I dyed my hair. I didn’t put two and two together until I watched a video on benefits of lemon and realized that’s what was doing it. If you have natural/black hair, I would use Alikay as opposed to Sun In as it looks like it’s more suited for Caucasian hair. My hair stayed moisturized and not stringy with Alikay. It also works best when you use it and you go in the sunlight since sun shining on the lemon product in your hair is what lightens your hair.

    • @PEARLfect4you

      YoungBonnet TheSavage I haven’t used it on my natural hair because I was basically traumatized by it when my hair was relaxed. I would think it wouldn’t be as bad on natural hair because natural hair is stronger and the strains are thicker than relaxed if used in moderation . However, this product is a product not made with poc in mind and in the beginning of the 2000s or so. There are now products that catered more towards our type of hair that doesn’t have bleaching agents in them.

    I did this and I like it. My hair is now is like a brown orange-ish red-ish color. It’s hard to explain but I like how it looks. I sprayed it and sat at park under the sun I thought it wasn’t working because after being there for 30 mins my hair was still black but when I got home and washed it out I saw my hair turn brown-ish and then I sprayed more and went under a dryer and repeated the process again until I got the color I have now. And my hair did not change hair texture and I have 3c -4a hair.
