Getting Bayyinah TV and listening to Tafsir was the huge push that caused me to revert last August. So grateful to Nouman, my internal world has never been so at peace.
Alhamdulillah, may Allah raise Nouman in His ranks in Jannah

You made us “addicted” to Qur’an and now we need a “dose” of this book every day. Have to listen to you otherwise something always feels missing.
Then decided to join your “Rehab centre” Bayyinah and realised that this addiction has now increased Alhumdulillah 😀

I am an Indian Muslim and what you say about the Indian weddings is so true... We have a lot of non muslim elements in our weddings and people won't let you have a simple wedding it's so difficult to fight with them and stand firm on our decision 😢😢😢

I lost it at the example of Algeria since I belong to it, and I couldn't have said it better. At the surface, it may seem well-collected, but in reality, our identity is very fragmented. It's something i contemplate about like our history, culture and our social structure, Interestingly enough, you stated it all. One thing I admire about Ustadh Nouman is that he puts all my thoughts into words. Subhan'Allah, recently I've been thinking about the nature of idols. Listening to you, I learned that everything in the quran has to be relevant to any generation. So humanity indeed have progressed, and with the popularization of sciences, people are no longer impressed by temples and statues and superstitions. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean they disappeared. It's just they manifest in a different way. When you think of statues, people didn't worship them just bcuz they're made of stones of gold. Otherwise, they would've prostrated to any stone or mountain they see. But they special cuz they assigned a certain "soul" and "hopes" on it. And a lot of times, they turn them into a mediator between them and God. Which made me wonder how does manifest in modern times... an idol is easy to detect, so one can easily be weary of it. but now it's become abstract concepts. I still lack the answer for that. Nevertheless, detection of such matter shouldn't be a justification to point fingers at anyone or exclude them from the umma. Or to take it to an extreme level to the point where the use of beads lace to do remembrance of Allah is among shirki stuff. As I said, it's more subtle cuz it's an idea, one that pushes to people to follow the steps of the unbelievers, either in the the name of science or social superiority, when it is at the end of the day merely based on superstition. May Allah guide all of us and protect us from deviation

💯 and even in small things like copying western people when it comes to having smaller families and viewing having less children as being more civilised (even though Allah told us via Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and via the Bible even, that we should have lots of children). Also we have copied western people when it comes to marriage and dating. Marriage in Islam is so easy and the concept of involving the Wali is for our own good but now even in Arab & other Muslim countries people want to “date”(get to know each other) for years first because they think it’s better and then girls get used and played and their best years are wasted. People are so busy trying to be western, they have forgotten that Allah’s instructions on how we should live are superior.

Taqwa is the state of being and feeling which help you indentify the idols which means being cautious of Allah with fear and love all the time as much as possible challenging before believing or saying each and every sentence that does Allah wants me to say it or believe what I'm hearing etc. It's not hard because once you start doing it, it becomes a beautiful habit.

But I realize that Allah swt has given me a great opportunity and I must not waste this opportunity, may allah forgive me and forgive us

Sadly, many today prioritize cultural acceptance over genuine spiritual growth. Nouman Ali Khan's message on idolizing feelings is crucial, reminding us to prioritize faith over fleeting societal approval. Let's strive for a deeper connection with our religion, not just for cultural acceptance.

I find it interesting how Algeria is an example of a North African country that was aggressively colonized by the French. Yet, on the other hand, Libya is an example of a North African country that strongly resisted colonization by the Italians both because of Omar al-Mokhtar and then the subsequent Arab Nationalism that Qaddafi led. Very interesting contrast.

As a convert in a Catholic environment I've come across these two. They say:
    - It's more beautiful to be God's children than His servants/slaves.
    - The commandment against statues/images was for the people of old, who were more inclined to commit shirk, not for them today who know what they're doing.
You should see what's going on in Spain during Easter. They have parades everywhere with the image of Jesus and Mary and they pray to them. 😢

“Islam is based on fear” is a typical line Islamophobes use. That’s probably where that person got it. You were 100% right when you said before that we (as non scholars) should stay away from discussions with Islamophobes, because although they would never be able to influence me in the way they influenced the person you mentioned, they still corrupt your mind. I feel like my heart and mind has been corrupted by the weird ways they think and the horrible stuff they say because as a Muslim we would never think about Allah in that way that I didn’t even know it was possible for people to have such thought processes (about Allah) as they do. That’s probably why the Quran says not to sit with such people (when they talk about Allah/Islam mockingly) and I need to remind myself to never engage with them in future as they honestly do corrupt your heart and mind.

My parents both come from completely opposite regions, I was born in another different country and now I live in another one. When someone asks me who I am, or where from idk what to tell them. Where I wad born? Raised? Where my parents are from or how do I feel myself?
And none of the countries appeal to me, I'd say ieel like I belong to earth but also not really. My family is torn, fathers side doesn't talk to me since their divorce and the other part is also really small and mixed religion and I'm technically the first Muslim from that side which is a shame for them

Not 100 years exactly for Turks in German, they basically moved Germany from Turkey in 60’s, when Germany need workers to work in their industry. So around 60 years ago it started.
