I probably saw this episode when it originally aired because I was a student back then and watched the show religiously during summer vacation. I was one of many who were shocked by Johnny's passing just a few months later. I never would have guessed that he was 75 years old; maybe 60 or so. We see the "classic" lineup of models (Dian, Janice, and Holly) here as well--and they look great in red!
There are episodes of _Match Game '75_ (give or take a year) in which Johnny appeared on camera, and in fact on the panel a time or three. And he looked _exactly the same._

Bob did a good bit of singling Johnny out around this period of time, giving him more kudos and accolades than usual. He even did so at the daytime emmys which took place roughly around this time. Wonder if Johnny was considering retirement for the next season but somehow ultimately made the decision to stay on...

However, seeing his work that he has done with Bob Barker, Over the many years on the price is right has truly been inspiring to me, and I loved every bit of his work and what he did bringing joy to everyone and putting a smile on their face and making contestants have fun on the show Along with Bob Barker himself! Bob Barker was truly a one of a kind game show host, and he has created a legend over the many years of his life and will always live on forever in our hearts, along with his legacy that he left behind for all of us to enjoy! May they both rest in peace and continue "the price is right" legacy in heaven together. 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

Johnny was just as good on Price as he was on Match Game. Despite being born five years after his passing, seeing him in reruns helped me to gain appreciation and love for him. Just like I love Bob and Rod. They have a unique chemistry. Even Bob and Rich have a chemistry that can't be matched. May they all rest in peace in the afterlife with all the game show greats.

I think Johnny was going to probably retire soon if he didn’t pass. If you watch certain episodes from 1985, they included Johnny more than in years past. Plus with the way Bob was talking about him here in this video, and how the models were looking at him, he was most likely going to hang it up at the end of the following 1985-86 season
