    They used to have a “beat the heat” here in california..but they decided to start closing down drag strips because houses are more important. Now, between LA and Oregon there’s only three (Bakersfield, Sacramento, Redding) then the major one in Sonoma…and Sacramento is CRIPPLED by curfew and noise restrictions. Kind of hard to “keep it on the track” when there isn’t one or it’s HOURS away.

    Always an interesting channel. The repeatability of Tesla to produce cars that are almost always within .05 of a second from each other is amazing.ICE cars because of all the variables with manufacturing, especially their highest performance motors are assembled by man and each one's clearances and assorted other measurements can’t have the exact same HP, If you and Nick could get together and develop a program to measure all the variables SoC, Plaid mode against non Plaid, the 2 of you should be able to have a great database to measure what the cars could run before actually running....Think that would be of much interest to all new Plaid buyers. One new reviewer was complaining about the brakes fading when driving spirited one a twisting road course. I see Unplugged Performance has a great upgrade for that. Uremember Andrew saying the brakes were not exactly the best for a car stopping from 150. Wonder if newer released Plaids will address this concern. I know you are going on vacation (where does one go from paradise for vacation, you a sking enthusiast?). Thanks for the weekly entertainment and you may want to practice on a reaction time tree to continue to beat Nick on those starts...lol!

    • @TeslaPlaidChannel
      @TeslaPlaidChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! Regarding the brakes: I’d say for drag racing, even with 4-5 full 1/4mile runs per hour, the factory brakes seem fine. (The only way the car sees more passes is at a private track rental.) I wouldn’t do 10 in an hour though.
      And road racing is a different animal that’s usually harder on the brakes. That’s not my sport so I’ll let others add their experience about that.

      The vast majority of the Florida drag racing scene is cool and intelligent. It’s a rare thing to get a hostile vibe from another driver, but I do remember it happening once about two months ago. Supra’s are sleeperish these days.. front mount inter cooler big tires.. could be 600hp could be 2000hp.. as long as it doesn’t say titanmotorsports down the side of it you’ll be ok in a 9sec car.. lol

      @@alexnutcasio936 what’s real quick to you? Comparable to this Tesla there is no performance per dollar comparable car.. that’s just the sad truth. Street car is a very loosely used term these days but there are a lot of cars that run 10’s 9’s 8’s bla bla bla that are Driven daily. My friend drives his stock block Miata everyday that runs 10’s .. and has less than 8k in the whole car including purchasing it.. it’s not what you buy it’s how you build it my friend. My 73 carina runs 10.60’s with a 22r motor out of a Toyota pickup and passes emissions and runs on pump gas.. but its a rare car and hard to get parts for these days so I don’t drive it do to fear of a fender bender .. but it was driven to and from the track when we used to race it. A stock gtr runs 11’s and cost less than the Tesla to buy but to make a gtr faster than a plaid would cost $$$. My comment was about Supra’s and only them. If you see a Supra with a big front mount and big tires it can be making anywhere from like 600 to 2000hp you just can’t judge one for the look alone.. same goes for most imports really.. all the Supra’s I’ve run into are making over 1000hp. It’s a legendary car with a legendary engine for a reason.

      @@theclan4adventures Those are all cool cars, but seriously doubt anyone is daily driving most of them to go to work or the grocery store. Yeah, try putting groceries in the trunk of that Supra or Miata, LOL, for that matter or taking out the family of five to dinner in that Supra, MX5 or Cortina. Plaid is the single most paradigm-changing daily driver in our lifetime. What other daily driver does low 9s (which IS quick) and costs so little and does so much?? Even the 8.6 Nevera is nearly $3 million and only carries two and has no trunk. Elon has single-handedly changed the hypercar and performance market.

The only BEV which even came close to that, a 2016 Nissan Leaf with a dangerously degraded battery for $5 grand, was in a far more volatile state and had range that was virtually unusable at only 38 miles. My car is the real deal proven in news footage and the auction the car was sold at when it was taken out of service. Some 79 Camaro with police decals is NOT a cop car. It's discouraging you never play with tire pressure and stick to OEM tire pressure for street driving. I bet 30psi increases your 60ft times long as u mark the rim and tire with a tire crayon to see if you get rim slip. Experiment more or this is getting boring to watch u do the same race over and over and over same tire pressure same everything gets really boring....

    • @TeslaPlaidChannel
      @TeslaPlaidChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve tested 3 tires, and at pressures that are within 5 psi of the recommended spec. The Nittos showed me that the limiting factor is the torque map that the car will lay down. They dead hook every time. Without any slippage or dial-back of power, what would else lower psi yield? Higher rolling resistance at the top end.
