Thank you for reacting to my favorite performer and greatest guitar player of all time. SRV was as good a man off stage as he was on . RIP my brother you are missed but the music you made will forever be cherished.
Thanks, Tony! SRV is so incredible.. especially this entire performance.. love how he's smokin' & playin'... and I keep waiting for the ash to drop... and he lets it go JUST in time... lol.. also, you get the feeling he could have gone on playing this for another eight hours or so....
This was one of the very first videos I obsessed over when I first discovered Stevie hahah. Lenny is still probably my favorite srv song. A few close ones but this one. Man.
Oh man ! I completely forgot to tell you how this song came about lol I thought for sure someone else would have by now but I guess the honor is mine this time So Stevie, one day was walking past a pawn shop with his girlfriend Lenora, and on display saw a red colored Stratocaster. Stevie absolutely fell in love with it but couldnt afford to buy. I believe it was a $300 guitar. This was around the time of Stevie’s birthday, so Lenora, behind Stevie’s back got all their friends to pitch in to get him the guitar. She surprised Stevie with that guitar on his birthday (October 3, literally tomorrow since im typing this October 2nd) That guitar is the one you see in this video. Lenora recalled Stevie sitting at the end of their bed that night writing and arranging this song. He named it Lenny because that was his nickname for her. This guitar sold in auction for $662,000 to guitar center and they actually have it on display at one of their Austin stores.
Yesterday was his birthday 🎂 Great version of this masterpiece written for his (then) wife Lenora Please turn up the volume though, let the world hear 🎸
"Texas Flood" El Macombo,1983.Voodoo Chile Austn City Limits, 1989."Life without you",Capitol Center,1985,"Tightrope",1989."Mary had a little lamb ",1989. A good start!
This song was written for and dedicated to Stevie's wife Lenora, who was known as "Lenny." Lenora once said that she never listened to the song without crying. Vaughan played this song with his Strat guitar he named "Lenny." The guitar was a gift from his wife!
Great job and reaction✌️🎶 Lenny is so beautiful💙. You would love to see him do this song from his Toyko performance. As you know each song varies from performance to performance depending on how it flows through. Congratulations on your new look🤟
P.S. listen to Stevie's message in the live version of Life Without You. You and him are on the same track as far as loving the Self and loving and helping your Brothers and Sisters. He also tried to encourage us to live a life of Sobriety. If you delve in a little deeper and listen to his message, you may discover that it's no coincidence that you stumbled onto SRV. 💙💔💙
SRV touched so many people with his music. I miss him💙💔💙
