Growing up in Wales [UK] through the 70s/80s/90s AND Knowing the Local Rally Guys i had the BEST weekends Racing through the Welsh Valleys/Lanes with a R22000 with a Slip-Diff Going SLIDEWAYS was just Amazing for a 12 Year old Hanging out with the Lads. WON;T see Those times again as the 80s/90s Were the BEST Years.
Being from the UK I grew up with GP4 escorts in the 90’s it’s quite remarkable that you can buy everything new . From what was a humble family car it has and definitely deserves its following / status. Rallying saved so many shells and road cars that would have been scrapped were saved . Built to a decent good spec with a lightweight 4 cylinder engine and LSD these are a dream to drive . The secret is don’t take them too far from the original GP4 specs . 300bhp is amazing so you don’t have to go stupid power, it spoils them . I’ve moved on from escorts , still have a Mk1 and have special plans for that if all goes well . In the e36 M3 zone now and just as addictive 😂❤
