Had a thought, to put in your cabin kit. A inexpensive moving blanket. They work great for blocking breezes like that door. You could tact it up with staple gun, especially in a cabin like that. Or you could get fancy, use some command hooks, and pinch shower clips on the blanket. Just an idea🤔
Even just a piece of thick plastic would work well and be a good addition to your kit. A piece of plastic could come in handy in many ways, put under stuff you need to keep dry, block off drafts/wind etc.
I would have taken some of those newspapers and twisted them into strips and stuffed them around the door. Did that growing up in the Appalachian Mountains around doors and windows. Great video!
The thing we found most useful in our vehicle whenever we traveled any distance was a blue tarp from Home Depot (and every other camping or hardware/paint store). When camping, it went under the tent--kept moisture from ground out of tent and sleeping bags and helped keep dirt out of tent so you don't have problems packing to go home. When traveling the tarp was great to wrap luggage or camping supplies in when car is full and you need to keep them attached to the roof of the car--that's always when it rains, and moving at 60 mph is enough to push that water through your luggage or totes, boxes, whatever to soak everything inside. The tarp kept luggage, tents, sleeping bags, etc, dry as can be many times.

Creation is so amazing. The babbling brooks the whispering pines the distant tap tap of the winter birds as they forge through the bark wrapped around the tall pine trees for a hearty meal of bugs to give them energy for another winter's day. February calendar is coming to a close and the ides of March await its entrance like a lion or a lamb. Each draws us closer to the creation bringing new birth and growth as it says in Ecclesiastics 3. Peaceful refuge of rest and reflection was brought to my mind. No worldly distractions no need to hurry so. Ahh take a deep breath weary soul and may you be restored to tarry on. May God's Amazing Grace and Mercies abound you and your family through this wilderness ministry.

It can be a lot of hard work, mostly just because I’m making the video while out there. However, if you have the right gear it is by far the best camping!! No bugs and not nearly as many people! Plus, the snow is so peaceful and quiet.
This is the perfect example of trust. Someone trusted others to treat that cannon with respect and to think of the campers following after them. Things were not broken and clean, and the last person left with firewood already gathered for the next person. Nothing stolen. I love that

I think that is a thoughtful touch, also...I wish some other TH-camrs from other parts of the world would give temps in both scales, as well...I personally can't stand Celsius air temperatures, I just think Fahrenheit captures ambient air temperatures better...zero, very cold, 20-30, cold..40-50, quite chilly, 50-60, cool...65-75, warm...80-90, hot...90-100, very hot...simple. Seems Celsius temperatures never get anywhere, they always seem cold...I just can't wrap my head around 20-30 degrees as being hot....

The stove reminds me of the one my dad put into our 1932 Cape Cod I grew up in. My parents saved for 10 yrs after moving from TN to NY in 1964. The first winter of '75 welcomed the stove for the next 30 yrs. It was about 3ft wide and kept the house so warm that we only needed to replenish the oil for the furnace once a year. That stove was the best decision ever. It heated both levels within 30 minutes & held the heat through the night. The house was a fixer upper with excellent bones but drafts everywhere. Your door brought immediately to mind how my dad put expanding weather stripping on all the doors and windows. I found a 60 ft roll at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore I'd love to share with you😂 Very nice video. Love the simplicity and the sufficiency of nature. ~Best wishes to you

If you can't get outside , bring out the 10 year old you and make a fort/ tent inside. Make it on top of your bed or a mattress. Eat sleep read in it. String twinkle lights or a battery operated flickering candle. Use your imagination and have fun with it. It is still and adventure.
Ever since I was about 12, I wanted to go to Big Sky. I lived in Kansas. We went to Yellowstone for a bucket list trip, and went on up to Big Sky. Absolutely beautiful area! We spent the night and the stars were breathtaking! I'll always remember when a dream came true in Big Sky Montana!!!

In my home, we call burnt food 'Moms Special Frosting'. You may want to take the newspaper and use it to seal the gaps in the door. It would cut off the cold air from coming through.

@@BaumOutdoors We are pretty used to it this time of year, but we have never been out camping in it. We may add it to our bucket list though. You always make it look like so much fun, but I'm sure it's a lot of hard work sometimes. Please keep the videos coming, but stay safe.
It can be a lot of hard work, mostly just because I’m making the video while out there. However, if you have the right gear it is by far the best camping!! No bugs and not nearly as many people! Plus, the snow is so peaceful and quiet.
This is the perfect example of trust. Someone trusted others to treat that cannon with respect and to think of the campers following after them. Things were not broken and clean, and the last person left with firewood already gathered for the next person. Nothing stolen. I love that

I'm loving this video! I love the fact that you are a Christian and you are a man of faith. And I just learned a lot from you just watching this video especially with that oven I never even seen one of those before. I would love to go to a cold cabin for a night. I live in Wisconsin so the weather here right now is bitterly cold. So I can relate with Montana's weather.

I think that is a thoughtful touch, also...I wish some other TH-camrs from other parts of the world would give temps in both scales, as well...I personally can't stand Celsius air temperatures, I just think Fahrenheit captures ambient air temperatures better...zero, very cold, 20-30, cold..40-50, quite chilly, 50-60, cool...65-75, warm...80-90, hot...90-100, very hot...simple. Seems Celsius temperatures never get anywhere, they always seem cold...I just can't wrap my head around 20-30 degrees as being hot....
And for me, in Fahrenheit. It helps me understand theirs better to hear both. Ty!😊

The stove reminds me of the one my dad put into our 1932 Cape Cod I grew up in. My parents saved for 10 yrs after moving from TN to NY in 1964.
The first winter of '75 welcomed the stove for the next 30 yrs. It was about 3ft wide and kept the house so warm that we only needed to replenish the oil for the furnace once a year. That stove was the best decision ever. It heated both levels within 30 minutes & held the heat through the night.
The house was a fixer upper with excellent bones but drafts everywhere.
Your door brought immediately to mind how my dad put expanding weather stripping on all the doors and windows. I found a 60 ft roll at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore I'd love to share with you😂

If you can't get outside , bring out the 10 year old you and make a fort/ tent inside. Make it on top of your bed or a mattress. Eat sleep read in it. String twinkle lights or a battery operated flickering candle. Use your imagination and have fun with it. It is still and adventure.

Ever since I was about 12, I wanted to go to Big Sky. I lived in Kansas. We went to Yellowstone for a bucket list trip, and went on up to Big Sky. Absolutely beautiful area! We spent the night and the stars were breathtaking! I'll always remember when a dream came true in Big Sky Montana!!!

In my home, we call burnt food 'Moms Special Frosting'. You may want to take the newspaper and use it to seal the gaps in the door. It would cut off the cold air from coming through.
