    A blown 5.8 (351) from a 13-14 GT500 would be even cooler.

      The whine is incredible. 660 hp, and with a KenneBell blower/pulley swap, and a few other mods, 1000 hp is easily attainable. I just like the blower whine. Huge hp in one of these can be a very bad thing.

      Well... we haven't tried it, but if that is what you wanted we just happen to have a grand sport int he showroom ready for an engine!

    In the spirit of the original Shelby Cobras, this engine (while not period correct) is the most powerful production engine Ford produces (or produced). Months ago when AC was showing off its modern take on the Cobra, costing hundreds of thousands of dollars, I was disappointed they were using regular Coyote 5.0s. Could not understand why they did not bother to drop in this engine, the spiritual successor to the old-school 427s which were the most powerful Ford engines at that time. I can only guess that while the run-of-the-mill Mustang GTs were offered in UK, the GT500 was not offered there, so they could not homologate the engine. I find that a big shame for wasting such an opportunity.

      im all for 2jz motors but keep in mind the 2jz is 2 cylinders longer than this engine so you will more than likely cut the hood to fit it in there

      @@joshuaszeto when I got to look at one of these cars, there’s a decent amount of space upfront, but you’re right the hood would need to be modified along with a flat custom oil pan probably have dry sump system I just don’t like Ford motors

      @@oler777 that would be one hell of a build. Although you might have to do away with the side pipes since a 2jz exhausts from only one side. You could do a hater pipe out the hood which would annoy a lot of classic car guys though haha. I'm a Toyota guy to the core so if I ever got one of these, I would probably do a 1uz with long trumpet itbs and just cut the hood and not have a scoop at all.

    That's more powerful than the supercharged 427 Cobra that Bill Cosby returned to Carrol Shelby and the next owner killed himself with that car.

    Ninety-nine percent of people wouldn't be able to use 300 horsepower in a Cobra replica. This car is clearly about bragging rights. But if you need this for your collection..

      It's certainly a lot of car, and maybe too much for some people. We are definitely proud to have gotten the engine in this chassis as well, it just gives us another option for customers to choose. We hate having to tell people no.

    If it had the proper 15 inch rims and Goodyear white letter racing tires, it would be BADASS. However, the fad 20 inch clown shoe rims and rubber band tires are what got put on and ruined it. 🙆👎
