So glad I found you on youtube. You woke up my Armenian side. Miss my Armenian grandmothers cooking and I'm using some of your recipes to make some of the things I miss. Thank you!!! :-)
I'm so happy that you're back!! You have such a wonderful way of explaining your recipes and also include why you do things or ingredients. It is so very helpful. Welcome back!!
Thank you so much for such a warm welcome! I am glad you like my recipes. cooking is my passion and I am glad I am uploading again .I am glad I am back . Enjoy! :) Mariette
You're most welcome! I am glad you liked the Armenian Eastern bread Recipe and gave it a try. Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us, it is greatly appreciated. Enjoy! :) Mariette
It is a family recipe. And considering there is no kneading involved, this is the easiest recipe for Easter bread I know of. Just collect all the ingredients at room temperature and mix! Give it a try and if you have any question I will be glad to help. Enjoy! Mariette
Can't wait to try this. I love bread especially homemade. Don't know if I can find Mahleb, hope so. Your recipe is printable recipe is missing step 7 or is it a just numbered wrong. Thank you.
Hi - I clicked on your link but I cannot find the recipe anywhere on the site! Could you tell me how much flour & sugar you used? Also do you use baking powder? I searched through all the recipes on the how to expo site- please help! Thanks :)
Nirvana Heldrich, you are mistaken!! I So very wrong!!! Fenugreek is a savory spice! Another name for it is Chemen! If you use that instead of the Mehleb, you will destroy this bread. This is a sweet bread, not savory. Thx!
Mahleb is ground cherry pit, but the cherry is only found I the Middle East. You can find it online on amazon if you don't have a greek/midde eastern grocery near you. Do NOT substitute ANYTHING else - it will not taste the same. greeks sometimes add ground/powdered mastic to this because they make it too - Choureki or Tsoureki. Our easter traditions/religions/food is almost identical to one another.
Mariet you remind me so much of my grandmother. Your voice and hands too! These are the most comforting videos my very favourite.

Mahl ab in English is fenugreek in English, just thought that this will help.
