Hi is it possible to change the color of suede boots that have been waterproofed before? Please let me know if you can. I am working on a pair this weekend.
@@unclemandragon5670 for best results, any surface needs to be cleaned properly as any waterproofing product applied in the past may prevent the dye from soaking in.
I did the same process you did in your video before I found out about your channel, but my beige and light brown suede/nobuck cowboy boots do not look black but chocolate brown, the suede part looking the worst. And it took me a whole bottle of Angelus black dye for each boot. Does that mean that the only way to get a vibrant black dyeing is if the leather was white?
Would this work on a suede jacket? I have a nice suede jacket unfortunately still in newish quality but I'm not a huge fan of the color. Thought itd grow on me, it hasn't.
Furniture Clinic, hope you can answer as I too would like to do this on a suede jacket. but I assume it will work. I am just worried about the zipper tape
I think I messed up, I dyed my brown suede working boots black, using leather dye. It was the Griffin brand leather dye, do you think I might have ruined them by not doing it right? I don't mind them being a bit stiff since they're work boots and they're going to get really messed up with mud and dirt and stuff.
@@VALLAERION I didn't brush it out and I thought I used the wrong kind of dye. Well it's been a couple of months though since then and the color has stayed, it hasn't bled and it's still looking good. So maybe I lucked out. After I dyed them I brushed the leather out and it made it soft again instead of hard and uncomfortable. Idk, maybe that was the issue? As I said, I don't know. But I guess it DID work. Go figure.
Should I have any concern over the dye rubbing off on to my pants legs or cloth furniture my shoes may rub against while sitting? Thank you (very good video)
Hi, once the product has been left overnight to cure, this will be completely colourfast. You won't need to worry about this rubbing off onto clothes or furniture. I hope this helps.
Hi, Our Suede Dye is supplied in a 125ml bottle, which contains enough dye to dye about 0.5m2 of Suede. This is equivalent to a waist length jacket, or about five pairs of suede shoes.
Hi, nubuck can be dyed in the same way as suede. However, durabuck is a faux leather so we wouldn't recommend using the dye on this type of material @@elge9999
I used those exact products on my new balance 992 but when I let them dry the colour turns from black to a really dark grey no matter how many layers I put on
@@FurnitureClinic Thanks for getting back to me. So you're saying that dark green + navy = navy, and dark green + dark brown = dark brown? I'm worried they will turn black.

The original colour of the suede/nubuck can influence the new colour applied, therefore the darker the colour, the more dye you will require.
Can you dye black faded shoes to be dark black again?
Hi @theavastark6463, yes you can :)
Should i use jet black or regular black suede dye? Im looking for flat black
Hi, our suede dye only comes in standard black

I have a pair of really light gray suede. Is it possible to dye them ivory white?
Hi, you can darken them in colour but unfortunately, you cannot lighten them.
@@FurnitureClinic Thank you for the insights. What are your thoughts on bleaching suede shoes to get a white hue?
@@AnonomusKity Hi, this wouldn't be something we recommend
if i used this on a pair of shoes that have a leopard print suede on them, would it be able to dye them all one shade of black?
Hi, you can use our Suede Dye to change the pattern to black, but it wouldn't hide it all together.

Hi, you can paint them using our Shoe Colouring Kit, but you cannot dye suede a lighter colour www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/shoe-colouring-kit
It seems that white/dutch guys like to wear dress (suede shoes). You can say suede shoes are great for models and they are for fashion. reply
