true, but it's good practice to lower any life support gear - there have been documented accidents following failure of ring-and-ring cambium savers, which is hardly surprising when you see them come hurtling out of the tree onto rocky ground!
does the double snapper work with the cocoon?
i guess when u invest that kinda $ in a friction saver ur gonna treat it accordingly ;)
