I totally agree with Mammie Dearest that money doesn't change people but simply unveils who they truly are or have always been. It's like money acts as a magnifying glass, it amplifies what's already there. The example she gave highlights something we often overlook: the issue isn't just about one person or one group, it's systemic. I would also hold all three sectors accountable: the young girl might be naive due to her environment, shaped by limited exposure or societal norms; the rich old man, on the other hand, may feel the need to flex his power or maintain status, but for who? It’s society that validates and enables this kind of behavior, making it acceptable. It's sad, really, because Caiah seems laser-focused on the rich, assuming that their character is inherently flawed because of wealth. But wealth isn’t the root cause. It's the lack of moral grounding that’s the problem. And the society we live in today is far too comfortable ignoring moral values in exchange for status, recognition, or just plain greed. It's this moral decay, not just the wealth itself, that we should be questioning.
Mammie to your point about not thriving when you’re in a relationship… That usually happens when you dating the wrong person who doesn’t complement you. They are certain people who numb your light instead of fuelling it. Imagine being with someone who fuels you and you can be the most creative with them, bounce off ideas together and just grow together. Imagine finding someone like Caiah, but as a partner…
Guys lets buy Mammie Dearest some flowers🥺yerr Mpho is smart chana, the goosebumps I had when they were in the middle of the long topic👌. And I loved how Caiah also held her point of view.
1000% agree with Mpho. Wealth amplifies your moral compass/character flaws. The only thing is we won't always see these flaws when the person is broke or in a state where they are not given too much attention that we establish who they are from the core. Money doesn't change a person it just amplifies what we were not paying attention to, but trust me, there's always a person that knows you even before the money and they are never shocked by your behavior.
Amplify. You guys are both right I am afraid. Mpho's vision is black and white. Caiah is pulling up in that grey area. The influence money has can change a person indefinitely
At first I agreed with Caiah fully but as Mpho started proving her points, I now have a different understanding & I agree with her & Thanks @Mpho for opening my eyes on this topic ❤️❤️❤️
Close the lid when you flush as well. It has a lid for a reason. The toilet situation is a huge problem for me as well, especially if you don't wash your hands after using the toilet.
Mpho is right it’s the power that the society gives to wealthy people that allows them to be morally disengaged , if it wasn’t for that power their wealth wouldn’t matter at all.
nah Mpho was spitting here. at first i heard both sides of the debate, but damn Mpho proved her point all way through every instance Caiah stated against her points. 🔥
The power of influence in life is big. What we are exposed to can make or break us.The ability to make right decisions and being different is Grace. You are not better than anyone and in any case we should pray people receive the same grace.
😭😭you are both right to a certain extent....money dies amplify bad character in a sence but not entirely because once in that environment there is some character flaws you may not have that will be created because of wealth so honestly you are both correct
The wrestling Caiah is going through is so ✨scary✨ but GOD is good. Man I hope her community is bold enough with her to contend. 😭 that conversation about “some people being born losers” to her sentiments on some topics here are uncomfortable to listen to as a christian 💔💔 LOVE HER DOWN THOUGH, And PRAYING for her for sure.❤❤❤
I think she also loosely uses the name of God and the Holy Spirit. I was so moved by her when she said she left that man because he’s not Christian and she is, also went on to say she still loved him but it’s the sacrifice she needs to make to be closer to God. She legit made the whole break up about God and the Holy Spirit guiding her. Now “shes young, degreed , her mom likes this guy” Eeeeey. I wish she could just do her things and not spiritualise the decisions she makes, because no it’s giving “mockery”
@@User326-y3q I hear you but I really think she’s wrestling and it’s unfortunate that she’s going through this publicly. Man! I always say to my friends that if you are still a baby in Christ, you need to get disciplined in private. Let GOD and your close community water you before you come out to social media trying to sprout. Taking platform to teach and share on Faith requires being sent out by GOD not just because you have a desire to do so because one thing the enemy will do is embarrass you publicly if you are not edified and covered. But all things work together for good to those that love the Lord. As long as she keeps seeking she will truly find and I believe GODs grace is sufficient enough even for this.❤️
Wow you guys are besties, so cute. My eyes are tearing up, I really just wish I had a friend who loves God as much as I do, well spoken, smart and loves me loudly. Wow mahn, you guys are a true testament of what it is to be God's children.
I can relate. It was one of my dreams too, still is but I had to make room for chance that it might not happen. Ar 31 now, tried to do everything right yet here we are. So yeah whatever happens happens
Firstly y'all both look scrumptious ❤❤ Secondly what a topic 😮..lol I agree with the both of you as you have raised valid ,evident points to support your thoughts..but biblically Caiah is right ...A lot of times in the Bible bad behaviour is linked with people with the bag ...they tend to be in their "self -made" illusionary thoughts, they tend to be prideful , and misuse the "money answers all" word..they can buy everyone and everything .Pride and attitude right there Proverbs 30:7-9, ecclesiastes 7:12, 1Tim 6:9, Proverbs28:6 etc also when Caiah said in an instance where one (wealthy)person would buy their way out of repercussions ,that's because they don't understand judgement Proverbs28:5..I think wealth does corrupt hey
Caiah is a better woman than me😭bc I would've stood up and left the moment Mpho dismissed the fact that Caiah said GIRL IS UNDERAGE and is from the ruralsssssssss!
I usually listen to the podcast on Spotify, but yesterday when i went to listen it seems it was uploaded on Seated as opposed to Thought Digest, im not sure if it was intentional or not. I love your content❤you guys have such a beautiful way of articulating youe thoughts
I feel like both points are equally reasonable but my point of view is that , money doesn’t change people , it is a magnified glass of someone . Mpho could be right .
I agree with Caiah in the long topic’s take, cause yes there’s a very distinct difference between responsibility and blame. Mpho said it herself, “the prefrontal cortex hasn’t developed” so in that way we cannot blame the young girl being taken advantage of by a grown ass man. Also the society is downplayed largely by the ability the man possesses, so we can blame them to none. ❤ Great conversation thou💰💰.
I think if you are *born* in money then yes ciah is 100% right at least has ground to stand on because we can't run away from the fact that having money can let you get away with sooo much therefore if you grow up in an environment like that you will definitely have a skewed moral compass then in the instance of growing up without money and stumbling in to it then I say mpho is right in every sense money just exposes a side you didn't think existed because of lack of excess to money so essentially both are right but overall yes money does impact morals that is undeniable whether you loose them or bend them ...fact of the matter is your character is challenged it's up to you if it's for the best or worst .
I agree with Mpho that all factors mentioned somehow should be held accountable💯 Scripturaly though, to Caiah's point, everyone human being has been given volition, the gift of choice from God, since Adam and Eve, ultimately therefore, everyone should be held accountable for the choice that HE/SHE made. OTHERWISE, this topic would have no END!!
I agree with everything Mpho said, i also think that Ciaha and Mpho were saying the same thing but from a different perspective. The analogy that was used about the little girl is great. All members are responsible for their choices. Being morally disengaged doesn't only apply to wealthy people but also everyone else no matter their economical social status. But wealth amplifies this because society allows wealthy people to get away with morally incorrect acts. Our country is a good example of this because of the level of corruption from "cool drink" money for the traffic cops to bribing police officers for rape cases etc (whether wealthy or not) to the leaders of our country being corrupt.
I have seen people who experienced both riches and lack , starting from riches ..where they didn't notice nobody and was no friends with no middle class folks and once the money is gone, they become people's people , being nice and what not ..check the gbv cases outhere .you will find that most women who go through the whole abuse in most cases are people who are involved with rich guys ,who have connections in high places and have gotten away with it a lot of times...the wealth level does differ ..but people who perceive themselves as rich behave outrageously.. even kids who come from privileged families most move different..they are picky with who they befriend , they slave others, ice boy thingies...you cant tell me its not money 😂😂...a disadvantaged kid on the other end will be so humble, respectful.
I agree with Mpho my brother is very rich but he never changed cos from him being poor to now being rich he has be a person who loves good morals and I still remember when he was speed N the traffic police stopped him they were like dude pay this amount we won't give u a ticket he was like I was at fault and it's against who I am what u want me to do and he didn't pay them he got the ticket and they were so mad but it showed me that still now money didn't change him
I agree with both to a certain extent as Mpho was right about money just being able to give you the leeway to show the immorality u already had and about society being the one that enables these people that do have wealth to get away with it. Caiah was also right in her statement of money being able to change u and when she referenced the verse Bad influence corrupts Good character as it is very hard tho stick with being morally inclined when the people around you aren't
I was enjoying the debate until the ladies somehow switched standpoint between it's 'your character' and ' its the wealth'. I love how you guys think, shoutout!

Character can’t be bought. You are who you are ! I hear Mpho.
But isn’t who you are acquired through learning and exposure? That means character can be changed. Sometimes wilfully.
@@rosemah character can be learned
I totally agree with mpho on the wealth corrupt Topic ♥️ The society really gives those people leverage to act the way they want
At first I agreed with Caiah fully but as Mpho started proving her points, I now have a different understanding & I agree with her & Thanks @Mpho for opening my eyes on this topic ❤️❤️❤️
Mpho!!!umpheki!!!👩🍳💰
Im with mammie money doesn’t change you it just brings out a side you didn’t know you have

However, I do hear Caiah's perspective too 👍🏼👏🏼.
This episode was lit 🔥
What Caiah said from 4:29 is something to live by fr✨. It officially lives rent free.
😭😭you are both right to a certain extent....money dies amplify bad character in a sence but not entirely because once in that environment there is some character flaws you may not have that will be created because of wealth so honestly you are both correct
I came to the same conclusion after watching it back😂🤔
I hear it ❤️
Beautiful hairstyles 😍
Imo money doesn’t change you but it brings a character that you didn’t have because you are now in a different realm
Isn’t that change though?

Wow you guys are besties, so cute. My eyes are tearing up, I really just wish I had a friend who loves God as much as I do, well spoken, smart and loves me loudly. Wow mahn, you guys are a true testament of what it is to be God's children.
This is why we call it THOUGHT DIGEST 👌
I resonate with Caiah😭😭 I had to let the dream of marriage and motherhood go and grieve that part of me because I was making it an idol
I can relate. It was one of my dreams too, still is but I had to make room for chance that it might not happen. Ar 31 now, tried to do everything right yet here we are. So yeah whatever happens happens
