i love how people are like " when i was younger i never cared for accuracy" meanwhile when i was younger i wanted energize chase because it was more accurate aka im weird
nah, that makes sense. Normal Chase was black because of the little books but when the show came out, he's blue. So it makes perfect sense to want Energize Chase since he looks like the show.
12:50 DUDE THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME! I had a really articulated Spider-Man when I was 5, near perfect figure. He fell under the fucking couch and wasn't there, I never saw him again. He was my favorite childhood toy
My parents got me Armada Unicron for my 7th birthday, but I could never transform it properly. So I ended up caring more about the Dead End minicon which I carried with me everywhere until I lost it one day, and my brother broke the Unicron after chucking it through a window.
I love how the destruction of the planet eater himself is an afterthought for your story of a minicon. Although this does make me ask, why did your bro throw him out of a window?
@@leostrachan-evans7559my brother has Special Needs (had a stroke when he was 2, no motor function issues but he has some major difficulties with communication), and when he was a child he was especially destructive. Not in a malicious way, but likely out of frustration and not understanding what to do about it. He’s doing much better now as he has someone who can consistently be with and help him.
My First transformer toy was a Core Class sized G1 Starscream back in the early 90s. One of my Favourites as a kid besides armada Optimus was a Beastwars Megatron. First Big Dinosaur transformer figure plus the bot mode was great too. Absolutely favourite Bionicle figure was Gali Nuva and Kopaka. Loved playing with them outdoors. Standing Kopaka in real snow is a core memory for me lol 😂
It’s quite nice to hear what your favorite TF figures from your childhood were. Mine was RID 2015 Optimus prime (yes, I know I said this in the community post)
i only had one transformers toy, and it was these two non-transforming megatron and optimus that had a foot planted in a stick that you pressed a button to make them kick/punch. so you could make them fight each other. their limbs came off really easily
I'm pretty sure that my first Transformer was a red and white knockoff Powermaster Getaway and ever since I found out the mold came from him I've been wishing for a new G1 Getaway figure
The vector prime is pretty solid if you get decent QC, which makes the bad QC even worse. The only thing really wrong with my copy was some mold flashing (excess plastic from molding) in the arm joints that I was able to clip off pretty easily.
My first and absolute favorite Transformers toys back then were Classics voyager Optimus Prime, Cybertron legends Thundercracker, and Cybertron scout Brakedown GTS. That Optimus would get dethroned by the OG Animated voyager Optimus later on though.
I got most of my childhood transformers but my favorites were the hftd jetblade and rotf bludgeon The two are still mostly intact and they were so much fun as a kid that they turned me to the decepticon side by pure fun factor
Back then as a kid, I was very upset that I was never able to find the red, original Armada Starscream toy in stores (this was waaaay before I found out that the Armada Thundercracker I had was effectively a "Powerlinx Starscream" several years later, I was never able to keep up with the show as it aired) ...The Built to Rule Starscream was actually my personal copium for all those years
the childhood transformer that still stays as one of my favorites is brawn, he taught me that it doesn't matter your size or abilities, you can take on great tasks with just motivation alone my childhood figure was 2007 salvage, I always pretended he was optimus since I never had an optimus I accidentally sold him
I'm only 23 and had armada Optimus with a missing chest piece and no trailer or accessories I'm guessing from either a yard sale or thrift shop, but I had a complete cybertron Primus, giant starscream and movie 2007 leader Optimus prime. I have none of them anymore sadly, but having them is why I got into the hobby as an adult for sure.
For me my first ever transformer was the Animated Voyager class Starscream which I begged my dad to get me literally seconds after I saw an animated toy commercial on TV
My favorite childhood transformers were the 2007 movie toys for Landmine, Incinerator, and Old Camaro Bumblebee. but I still wanted toys that were accurate to The G1 cartoon. Studio Series 86 is basically what I was imagining as a child, and that's what got me back into it as an adult.
Really pointless, but I'm gonna mention it either way. Legacy Tidalwave's knees exploding is kinda really common, like a tenth to a third of his copies do that. Which sucks because hes expensive and wanted af Great video btw, 10/10 yapping session
One of my very first transformers was I think cybertron Canonball and Downshift 2 pack, I didn't know who they were cause I never seen the show when I got them, but only just learned if them when the legacy figure of canonball was announced! Definitely have to get those 2 again for the nostalgia! Anyway, love the podcast!!!
The first Transformers i had was a massive knockoff Armada prime and a knockoff onslaught, i Also had a knockoff Machinerobo combiner police team. Unfortunately, they ended perspectiveendedly
My favorite childhood transformers include but not limited to: Voyager Animated Optimus Voyager Animated Lugnut Universe Prowl Prime RID Wheeljack BH Shockwave G1 Bludgeon (no shell no turret just the rectangle green slab robot) Cybertron Demolisher, aka Dr Tankdown G2 Dreadwing (no Smokescreen no left wing, no illin Gatling gun) Cybertron Smokescreen (currently missing leg)
My main 3 childhood Transformers i remember absolutely loving were #3. Dark Of the Moon Jolt #2. Dark Of the Moon Specialist Ratchet #1. Dark of the Moon deluxe Optimus Prime In case you didn't know i had my first Transformers toys during Dark of the Moon.
My favourite is Armada and Energon Because Jetfire and Omega Supreme two G1 characters originally voice dby Greg Berger and Jack Angel were both voiced by Scott McNeil
I think my first transformer was Cybertron deluxe armada Optimus don’t know what happened to him but the first transformer I got when I was fully into transformers was animated bee
I didn't have many transformers that actually transformed. But my favorite childhood transformer will forever be Titans Return Powermaster Optimus Prime
My favorite transformer from my childhood is Optimal Optimus. Let's be honest, he really only has 2 forms, the other 2 are really just him lying down. He's still great though. Really love my Optimus Minor. He's not the greatest but he was the very first figure I ever got so he's special. Galidor was a thing. An experience. The characters charactered. The plot plotted. I never had the original Armada Prime with his trailer, I had the deluxe, Bendy Prime. Things do just disappear. I dropped my cordless phone once and the back covering the battery came off and disappeared and was gone for years. One day it showed up in one of the pots in our cupboard which was impossible since that pot would've been used in that time. Sports still overwrite shows I watch now! It's ridiculous! Screw sports! Minicons need to come back. Give us a big pack of them. I'd pay 30 bucks for like a 5 or 6 pack. On the topic of show accuracy I asked my parents as a kid for Optimus Primal as I was watching Beast Wars at the time and seriously expected him to look exactly like the show. I basically expected the masterpiece figure in 1999.
I would probably say Combiner Wars Air Raid, since it was my first non-mainline TF! Technically it’s tied with Vortex from the same line, but I still have Vortex and I’ve since realized he’s a bit stinky imo

nah, that makes sense. Normal Chase was black because of the little books but when the show came out, he's blue. So it makes perfect sense to want Energize Chase since he looks like the show.
I remember getting Battle Ops Bumblebee and being mad because it didn't scale with Rotf Leader Optimus
i had this exact feeling with a bunch of stuff, particularly lego, where it makes even less sense,
12:50 DUDE THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME! I had a really articulated Spider-Man when I was 5, near perfect figure. He fell under the fucking couch and wasn't there, I never saw him again. He was my favorite childhood toy
This phenomenon needs to be studied
Prime wars was the first line I remember having toys of. I vividly remember having Alpha Trion, Blaster, skullcruncher, and scattershot.
Dumb jake acts like a mildly embarrassed dad trying not lose his sanity while containing the chaos
it would have been really funny if PE's cam was heavily pixelated during this entire episode as well to enhance his faulty mic.
Oh damn Perspective had two of the coolest Bionicle villains
hello Jake, Triangle, and the Canadian guy 👋
My parents got me Armada Unicron for my 7th birthday, but I could never transform it properly. So I ended up caring more about the Dead End minicon which I carried with me everywhere until I lost it one day, and my brother broke the Unicron after chucking it through a window.

Why the hell did he throw it out the window??
Did your brother throw Unicron to avenge Starscream?
Is your brother a jerk? Was he punished?

For me, it’s a combination of Cybertron Scattorshot, Thrilling 30 Armada Starscream and Combiner Wars Optimus.
I have scattershot in a box somewhere (the scout, I had the voyager version as a kid tho)

For me my first ever transformer was the Animated Voyager class Starscream which I begged my dad to get me literally seconds after I saw an animated toy commercial on TV
21:07 there’s a Beast Wars Uprising prose story called “Micro-Aggressions”
