    Nice one on the recovery Alex that would not have been easy I know how soft those beaches can get... Glad he got the Navara out before the tide could make things worse.

      the wet sand close to the water is worse thats why the locals just dont drive on the beaches

    It's a long one, about 22 minutes so make sure you've got a cuppa or a brewski and a bit of time to kick back and relax!

      Me, my brother and our mate Pete just did Guilderton to Seabird to Ledge Point on Aussie day long weekend. We camped up at Fire Drum on the edge of the cliffs near the beach. We did the trip in my brother's 2017 Ford Ranger xls and our mate Pete used his 2017 Isuzu Dmax ls. Such a great trip can't wait for the next one.

    I hate to be the one to bring up safety, but there were people standing really close on both snatches. If a strap or shackle broke it could have cut them in two. I know it's easy to forget in the heat of the moment and you probably already know this but the recommended distance for bystanders is at least 1.5 times the length of the snatch strap(s). Safe 4wding :)

    The arb awning looks like it extends further out from the Vehicle also you can attach a tent to them just a couple more pros for the arb awning

    Great stuff guys, looks like fun... we've all been stuck along there before. The light weight of my little Subaru helps with the soft beaches.
    We had a subaru blow its gearbox and get stuck in gear while down there... That was a mission and a half to get out.
    Would I be welcome to join a trip sometime?

    Good recovery, its not the 1st time I've heard of D40's clutches frying in the sand. There is more track passed the railway carriages that go through the bush then eventually back down to the beach.

    Not sure either about that 'Kidney' dish of yours! (lol!) Wonder whether the kidneys could have sufficed for bait, and you could have all instead enjoyed some lovely freshly baked fish etc. My heart really felt for you people when on the soft sand, & you had a veh develop clutch issues. Really pays clearly to travel as a group, as well have some mechanical knowledge! Good camera work anyway! Cheers! Really enjoyed your film.

    first of all always go down to 12 psi on beach even if its hard more air let out more of a tire pattern with tread you have and dont put it in high always low range gear 1 or gear 2 and right foot down dont ride the clutch just crawl little throttle

    all these 4wd's all this experience and not a single set of max trax? and why wait to get bogged in soft sand before going down to 10-12psi? I go down to that as soon as I start heading toward the beach and always have my max trax.

    had the same thing happen to my mate at two rocks , he triled to pull me out , i was suck with sand up to the top of my tyeres, took 5 hours to pull him 5 km to our camp, i was told by guys to use the water line to tow a car on the beach

    • @Alex.G
      @Alex.G  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ac130killer2 it's a nightmare hey mate? We ended up using the waterline to tow along as well, nice and firm down there but the surf was fairly rolling so it was a bit scary!
