Possibly my favourite video of this series! Love the archer play and lots of big battles. I've never used Koreans, interesting to see their archer bonuses.
27:52 Tip for the low-Elo players trying to 3v1 Hera: you can protect your rams from villagers by putting your own villagers inside the ram, and once the rams are close to the castle ungarrison the villagers and build walls or buildings around your rams. Stone gate might sound nice, but castles do +11 bonus damage against walls with their secondary projectiles, so it's actually better to use a wooden building like a Siege Workshop (which can even build more rams). Even if you build a gate that touches the castle and projects outwards, the castle can probably still attack the two gate sub-buildings that don't touch it. The danger here is that there could be enough space for a villager to ungarrison from the castle next to the ram.
The raids were effective though. Had Hera down to 188 pop. If they sent some units to target vills mining wood, Hera would be out of food and wood, with diminishing returns on market exchange to get resources. They almost had him, just needed another 3 minutes of pressure on him.
@@luminatrixfanfiction I thought exactly the same, if they just got lucky and found a few more of his unprotected vill spots that might have been enough.
I am so happy these videos keep coming out and people keep watching them, because I really enjoy every single one of them! Please keep it up, Hera! Much
this video is a true example of desertification at 00:00 the background is kinda lush and arable, but at the end 41:00 the background has been taken by sand storms and dusty winds
7:28 It's virtually impossible to stop a villager from quickwalling against one scout. The mistake people make (even Viper) is getting fixated on using an existing tile, whether from another building or a started palisade wall, as part of the diagonal tiles they need to protect the villager. Forget that tile! If it's a palisade wall, delete it and start again. Normally, to block a villager, a player would move the scout onto the tile diagonal to the wall - the tile on which the villager is trying to build. If you delete the palisade and move the villager onto that tile, you can build on the two tiles that touched the sides of the deleted palisade, while the enemy scout is exactly where you want it to be. In this case, instead of moving west and trying to use the corner of the barracks, you could have moved south. One trick that Viper learned from the Alcatraz quickwall scenario (from watching the player who kept getting the world record over Viper) was dragging and placing two palisade walls at once. The order in which the villager tries to build them should be predictable, based on the direction you drag, so after dragging and placing, you almost immediately right-click on the one that would be built second. (*Disclaimer: they changed how villagers sort onto wall tiles a year or so ago - it used to depend not only on the direction you dragged the wall, but also on how you dragged the box to select the villagers - so I'm not sure how it works now, but it probably still depends on the direction you drag the wall.)
I will always support Hera if he communicates as well as he does. He makes me smarter and makes the entire AOE2 community thrive, in my opinion. I enjoy him being professional and teaching too, it’s what makes me want to play AOE2 and be apart of his community. To Hera! Grazie.
Hera this is literally my 3rd or 4th attempt trying to watch and complete this video without ending up asleep to how smooth your voice is and to how sleep deprived I am lol
I have challenge idea. Every time you want to garrison your vills you need to ring town bell. It would be hilarious and oc harder to win due idle. No idea if it has been done yet.
Î don't like it when you ignore the relics :( I refuse to believe that building a monestary and 1 monk don't pay for themself many times over. Not only for the 1-2 relics you can get guaranteed but also for the healing they get done with defending armies on patrol/afk. I don't like it how they are being ignored. Over this game any relic would have gotten you 400-600 gold over the game and that would have been wort it. But the number one makes up the rules for the game I guess.
Elo is not an acronym, it's just elo. (Not E.L.O.) It's named after the guy who created the rating system for chess. I think you always pronounce it as ee-el-o. It's just elo.
1850 blitz here, I can confirm Hera is pronouncing it correctly as Eee-low. The only thing I hate in terms of pronunciation is the name “Hera”not being pronounced with a silent H.
"1850 Blitz" I love chess but I don't think your blitz rating is really relevant on an AOE2 video 11, or maybe there is something called blitz in age ?
@@ZorbazorbsI mean if he chooses the name doesn’t he get to pick the pronunciation? 😅 I’ve never heard Hera say that people pronounce his streamer name incorrectly
I rewatched the beginning just for your comment and I only heard the normal ELO pronunciation and not ee-el-oo so I don’t know that you’re talking about 😅

The end of that game was seriously insane. Had me on the edge of my seat. Thanks for the content Hera!

The Jonas disadvantage was too much for us - GG Hera
Fast Imp didn't help 11

Hey Hera, loving the vids, not enough aoe creators out there. Keep it up!

A very underrated bonus is the reduced minimum range for mangonels. It helps so much if there are like 3 vills chasing a lone mangonel.
The shotgun mangonel does do work
I hate it when there's one spearman gradually poking my mangonel to death lol
Those LEDs on the headphones give that extra mind clarity to reach AOE2 Ultra Instinct mode!! :P
I haven't finished the video yet, but i am surprised and impressed with how you can keep talking to the camera with no audience.
I'm from Australia, everygame inc in Aus is high ping. Feel alittle better knowing the pro's struggle with it too

that was intense, I love these asymmetrical matchups so much

Insane to keep up with everything happening at the same time, CRAZZZYYY
Good game. I still think you need to wall more, you often let your economy get destroyed when a few wall could slow the raids considerably.

Hera, I love the 1vsMany vids keep em coming!
crazy how 1k elo player matched ur feudal age timing.
20 pop with less than 1 vill idle time is pretty attainable for alot of 1k players I would say, not every time ofc but still
Appreciate that - the benefit of having Hera's build orders!
Clearly an underrated civ for pros, but not against noobs. A war charriot with bombard tower combo is just GG for most under 1000 elo.
I love the koreans. I play it all the time. Great video man 💪💪
as a fellow Australian I sympathise with the ping in this game
ELO stands for electronic labeling objective
The stache is *dope*!
Great 1 vs 3 video!

this stuff is super entertaining. like
Koreans is one of my top 5 favorite civs Let's gooooo! Defo watching that later! :)
GG always a good day when i can watch a Hera Video
Hera is a monster ..
Surprised they gave up!! felt like there was another 10 min left in that but not sure who would have won
Perfect!
Awesome game, gg!👏

The only thing he could improve is he didn't get Eupseong (towers +2 range) and didn't tower his mainland farms so he would not lose like 70 vills :P
Underrated PSHAAW Koreans are the 2nd best civ behind Byzantines :D
you need a 1v3 as dravidians + whatever handicap you think you will need to win 11
A castle or towers within you main city would have helped alote with the raids
6 AM. New meta?
En español hommie, xD mucho exito bigotes
Nice game :)
Made it look easy!
Pumpin
imagine if, in one of these 1v3's, they all decided to douche you..
Is rushing in fuedal not allowed?
why don't they all rush hera in feudal with different counter units and maybe forward tower his gold and woodline
cause they are ELO 1000
I think tower rush might not be allowed, but other kinds of aggression is. I guess they just don't want to be too all-in and die to castle age hera
Spoiler:
Hera Super Saiyan into Hero just here.
That was awesome!! Koreans!!!
How do you rotate a gate? They always face the wrong direction in my games
I need to know this as well
hold control and scroll your mouse wheel :)
You can check your hotkeys in the game options menu. I think default is CTRL + Mouse wheel
Thanks guys, i will try it out

I don't hear "e.l.o" at all. I think it's just an accent thing.
let me try to guess, is it burmese?
Edit: damn i thought another burmese video 11
too hard to recall after losing all your farms?
Can we all just say MMR?
