    Very helpful, thanks I have to check timing on my 700. Bought it, ran pretty good. Someone had the engine apart previously according to the owner. After getting it hope it began having issues idling, and generally running. New injector, fixed wiring, still the same no change. Back fires through the intake often so im starting to believe timing is off. Thanks again for the simple explantion of the timing. I was about to pull that plug, glad I didnt.

    Fantastic video! Bought a project 700 with all components removed for timing. I cannot find a brass washer in the parts....... possibly down in the motor. Do you know of a good way to check/remove/verify it's not down there.

    Great video buddy, I appreciate it I had to see this in order to check if the chain and all is aligned, I'll check on that asap. The quad does not want to start after a mechanic installed new piston and rings. Not sure if it's out of timing or what...bur it seems to want to start but it never does. I'll chack on the timing and make sure it all is on the dot, if so, I might have another issue. I have a 2012, it think it's similar or the same as yours. Thanks again. If you have a suggestion, I'd appreciate it!

    I got a question. Im currently rebuilding a 2015 king quad 750 I had bored and replaced but how the hell am i supposed to get the idler gear back in other than having to play around attempting to get it in because it obviously won't feed up from the bottom of the head which would have made it easier

    Bud I am not sure why it would be doing that but it sounds like you may have a fuel pump problem I would check that first and then go from there.

    Kevin, great video. My chain broke while riding, I know not great. I think there are pieces in the bottom of the engine. Any recommendations on process to split the case and inspect the inside before putting a new chain on?

    • @kevinlunsford1424
      @kevinlunsford1424  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will need to open the side cover but make sure you drain the water and oil first then open the side cover. I would also use a magnetic to make sure there no small pieces float around and there. I hope that helps

    Hey there im spliting my engine in half because i blew my driveshaft inside the tcase so theres only 3 mark for timing the bike the first is the dot second is those crank line up tird is the sproket chain need to be line up?

    • @kevinlunsford1424
      @kevinlunsford1424  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey I am not really sure I understand your question but you have to rotate the engine until you get the top of the camshaft to there position with the number at the top with the crankshaft TDC
      Mark on the crankshaft is in its position the line on the camshaft should be lined up with the head and all of the other timing marks should be in the right spot as shown in my video

      I know your comment was 3 years ago but what fixed it? I am guessing by running out of gas that you burned out the fuel pump and needed to replace the fuel pump?

    My 09 750 axi won't start. It died while idling. It's got fire. It throws a lil fire out the throttle body. Is this a timing issues? Ty in advance

    • @kevinlunsford1424
      @kevinlunsford1424  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are a couple of things that will cause this issue. On your valve there's a cap on the spring and a spacer that could've moved inside of the cap keeping your intake valves open just a little keeping it from starting. The other thing that you're stator has a pickup coil that tells the coil to fire. And last thing is it might have jumped timing. I have seen all three of these things in my shop.

      @@kevinlunsford1424 well it turns out due to lack of oil my cam jernals on the intake side got so hot the melted. So the cam was sitting a little of not opening the intake side properly. I posted a video of my finding. It looks expensive.

    Hey man, I'm having a problem with my KQ same year. My cam Marks and TDC mark are lined up perfectly but when I put my head on my idler mark wasnt lined up. The gear is the same all the way around right? It should t affect my timing?

    • @kevinlunsford1424
      @kevinlunsford1424  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the gear is the same all the way around but I would try to get it right ! You have to roll the slack out of the chain to the chain tensioner side while you line up your marks then you will need to add your camshaft and line them up as well when you go to tightening them down. Thanks for your question!

    • @mmmchocolate69
      @mmmchocolate69 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm having a heck of a time with my KQ. So it had piston slap so I sent out the jug to be redone got a new forged piston and it's all back together but while I'm lining up my cam marks it seems like they are out by half a tooth because if I move it to the next tooth it's way out. I fired it up for a second and it sounds like I'm getting the same slappy sound from the piston like its pre-combusting and rocking it. Any ideas? Stretched chain? Should I shoot it with my shotgun?
