This was my first bike. Slow, but awesome. No such thing as a bad Honda. Thanks for the vid.

Ive got one of these owned by someone who loved it, at 89,000 miles. These things are immortal

I had one and it wouldn't break unless you beat it with a bat. 60mph max under optimal conditions, but a small handful of coins would fill the tank.

When I was in high school my mother gave me her Twinstar. It was my daily rider. Had 45,000km when the speedometer/odometer stopped working and I continued to ride it like that for a few years then my mother sold it. I looked just like this one. We changed the bars and put a cheap windshield on it. I later changed the exhaust when the engine was rebuilt and the stock exhaust rotted away and it sounded great. It was a very good well balanced first bike although I did out grow it fairly quickly. I broke a connecting rod at 120km so it isn't fast but I still think the Twinstar is a good classic alternative to something like a new Rebel 300 which I have owned and didn't like. Honda of Thailand cost cutting on the new bikes is the reason I now own a Kawasaki Vulcan S. The Vulcan S rides like a classic Honda. Thanks for the memories.

I have an 82 with 5500 miles. Mine has a little rust from being a commuter for a few years. I'm 6'1" 250 lbs and I still have a blast on my little Twinstar

Like you, I rode Hondas, from 1965 to 2012, 50cc, 90, 350, and a gorgeous 1981 CM400C new until 2012. Sold that and bought a 2004 Vulcan 800 Classic (10k miles now) and a 2007 Yamaha XT225 (8k mi now). Getting old now, so don't ride as much, but still love it when I do, and in my mid-70s, can still wheelie the 225 and do some dirt.

I had the exact same bike when I was a 16 - 18 years old. Absolutely loved it. I wish I still had it but I had no where to store it when I went to college, so I had to give it up. It was a blast to drive. It was surprisingly peppy and I was able to pop wheelies with no problem.

I had one exactly like this in 2002. It was my first bike, and I got my license to drive it at 14. I don’t know if a 14 year old can still get a license for a bike 250cc’s and under.. I’m surprised they allow/allowed it, bc looking back at my 14 year old self.. k was just a baby!

I found one of these at a great price and plan to buy it today. This should be easier to ride than my 1100 Goldwing. lol The only concern I have is it being too short for my 6'3" human stature. How is it to ride for a taller person like us?

I had an 81 but it wasn't anywhere near that condition. Put longer shocks and forks, different handlebar and knobby tires and it was my main enduro for years. Rode a lot of miles on trails on that bike

That's sweet. I'm in the Pacific NW myself. I did a few updates to my twinstar, since it wasn't close to that mint. Someone added a sissy bar and there is surface rust. So I took that off, switched to vintage 80's dirt bike handle bars, bullet turn signals and did the L.E.D. upgrades. Switched to some new style reservoir struts to handle my weight better. Also made a custom headlight guard. Love that little guy!
