Wes Fothringham. A player I look forward to never ever seeing in a West Ham shirt! Might be worth a bet . Will he get a game/ start in goal? Maybe Paqeta might know
I'm not excited for Kilman at anything over 30m. Think Steiden can find younger players who are as good from other leagues for less with far better sell on potential. With FFP, that is the only way forward if you want to maintain or increase your transfer budget and grow as a club within the new financial structure. Guilherme is the right direction.
You have to have a mix, a squad full of teenagers with little top level experience is not gonna perform well. Not saying Kilman is the answer, but ya gotta have some signings of that type
we already have a mix-in fact we’ve got an aged squad. The last thing we need to do right now is by 27 and 28-year-olds we have plenty of 27-28-year-olds 32-year-olds 33-year-olds 34-year-olds! Get some youth in you saw how slow we were last season didn’t you?
@@jeffery8792 I didn't say we shouldnt get older players, just that 30+ mill is too much for kilman - there's better out there in other leagues for less. ans kilman to west ham as captain - no way. Alvarez for me.
Pretty obvious to me that we are focusing on free agents at the moment In a few weeks as that pool depletes and our targets decide their future we'll have a better idea of what positions we need to prioritise and spend big on This is what a competent window looks like
Alexander Bah was the player that Slavia Prague replaced Coufal with when he came to us. Benfica got him from there. We've even been loosely linked with in the past as well. Very handy player who had injury issues this season at Benfica but has a lot of class about him.
@@jack.0708 wheres the scamacca ,fornals, benrahma, kehrer money?wheres the budgeted transfer budget money from last summer, january and this summer?wheres the TV money from the premier league? Wheres the additional revenue generated by europe? If we have no actual money to spend we should have never left upton park!
Wolves fan here, If you spend anything over 30m for Kilman we've absolutely robbed you. If your looking for leaders on the pitch he's not that. he's a quiet player.
I'm not sure we're gonna get this window right, if I'm honest. One thing I will say about Moyes, he always targeted the actual needs of the group. He may not of looked far afield and subsequently paid over the odds but Steidten just seems to be too focussed on the quality of player rather than the needs of the group. We do get linked to gems but I want gems for areas of the pitch we need. Still not convinced Steidten didn't go out to Brazil to get Wesley (an inverted left winger which we desperately need) and ended up bringing Guilherme home (a left-footed winger, which we already have 2 of the best 5 in the country) just so not to come back empty handed. This Kilman deal needs to be done in correlation with Aguerd as well. If we pay 15 odd million more for Kilman than we sell Aguerd for, I struggle to see that as good business. Attacking areas are not where you go bargain shopping. You can get a cheap CB ( as long as they have the right profile... Dawson is a good example of that), you can get a cheap RB (Coufal being a good example) but you are going to have to pay the piper for a CF. There are some good deals out there because of transfer clauses, but you need to go and get them done. Simon Banza, 38 million, Boom. Pay him a proper wage like you clowns did Danny Ings, you get a CF and gain Antonio as a player to use elsewhere. Whether that's LW, backup CF, or even right back. I'd sooner payout for attacking talent than defenders. Our problems defensively last season didn't necessarily sprout from the players in the back line, it sprouted from Moyes picking a midfield who didn't break up play.. Namely, showing favoritism to JWP. Seems all over the place at the moment, if I'm honest. I'd rather pay over the odds for players we need than get good deals on players we don't. I will make my mind up at the end of the window, but in the words of Castillo "It's not looking good, brav!"
@@derelict06 Oh, cry more. Give me an example of a player who wasn't bought for a specific purpose. Or are you one of those people who think they are right as long as the comment criticizes Moyes? We will not have paid the whole JWP fee yet. So let's offer him to Southampton in exchange for Walker-Peters. WP going into the final year of his contract so there is a good deal to be had here.
I'm starting to get worried. We're in talks to sell Alvarez but then there is separate news that we're looking to sell Downes too? We have 5 players..... Paper thin squad... guys.. what are we doing?
Investment is nice, players for the future are fine, but we do need to start acquiring some quality that can replace our aging players and who will start on the ground running in our first team. I'm not a fan of this expensive striker idea that will supposedly will cure our problems. I much prefer quality midfielders that can all score, so when our 'striker' becomes injured we can still score goals..
Don't think we will sign many more players, remember Sullivan is in charge, but I suppose it's a little 😅entertaining trying to guess what might happen ,just looked at a pre 2024 season talk ,that was fun😂
I dont mind Kilman but there is better out there for 30mil like Calafiori. Prefer either two of these three; Perez, Greaves or O' Brien and could get them in for 30-40mil or 50mil for all three, defence sorted and still fits the model. For defence i can see why J-Lop wants a Prem proven centre back but surely a package of 35mil+ is over paying for Kilman at a time we are on a bit of a budget. Such a fast start to the window and i admit im starting to worry we are dithering a bit and may lose out on some quality bargain deals. In saying that the international window isnt opened yet and maybe thats why theres no official bids for players aroumd Europe
We can't afford to lose Emerson, especially when we need so many players as it is. I'm more concerned about our midfield and defence. On paper, we had a very good midfield last season, but the opposition had no problems walking straight through and onto goal.
Our midfield is not good on paper. Not for me, anyway. The only way that midfield looked 'decent' is when we played Moyesball with Alvarez and Souceck protecting the back 4 and even then, Kudus played out of position. Should have signed Fofana instead of JWP. JWP needs to be sold this summer, in my opinion. He's not physical enough to protect the back 4 and we have better 10's than him. Ie. Paqueta and Kudus.

Yeah I suppose, but I think he would be a good third choice for further development. Don't trust JWP or Soucek in that position or possibly in a Lopetigui system.
