*With thick French accent* Hide in the cupboard! Carstairs and Fairfax: "I have no idea what he is saying!" *Michelle, suddenly without thick French accent, but with a British accent* Chaps! Hide in the cupboard! "Oi! I say we do that Carstairs, jolly good show! Pip pip!"
Go to Eastern Europe, pretty much everyone will get the joke! Allo Allo made a huge impact in those countries, and the actors are treated like superstars to this day! It was a huge success! They still air it on some cable TV channels! 😍
Sam Kelly who played Captain Hans Geering, always sounded as if he was saying Clop! whenever anyone said Heil Hitler. He revealed some years later that he was actually saying "Tler!" The last syllable of Heil Hitler, because he wanted his character to appear as if he was able to say Heil Hitler, as a good Nazi would, but because Hans wasn't a real Nazi and didn't agree with Nazism, he only said "Tler!" But to all intents it sounded like Clop!
Let's-face-it: Col. Hogan and his merry-men could have gotten those two pilots back to London, gotten that Von Klap painting back to its rightful owner and assassinated Hitler all in the same half hour!
As a show, it's so silly, ridiculous and puerile. I sometimes question how much of a mature adult I really am when it makes me laugh so much, especially when Crabtree starts talking. Apparently, I'm the guilty potty when it comes to who is immature. I should really be pissed this.
Exactly so ! When I tried to explain to my in laws the background to Allo Allo they were confused as to how the Nazi occupation of France could be funny ? But then their families lived through the occupation and all the horrors that came with it whereas we did not
“Sir, sir, sir Yeshmin thinks the muslim mystics who spin around a lot very worshipfully may solve the middle east problem. He tried to explain it, that everything in this universe spins round and round, so it must be true and it fits and there is no other possibility that fits quite as well and he knows the other prophecies weren’t very good but this ones right on the money for sure. What should I tell him sir?”
When this show finally was broadcast in Germany it was dubbed into German... ...apparently with something working OK for the different levels of mangled accents!
He was very funny : beautiful lay-dee, I kiss your hand. Being presented to René : I embrace your wife (embraces Yvette) and I embrace your mother in law (embraces an indignant Edith). ABC DEF : what-a mistake to make-a!
"Shall I sing another song?"
"NO! We're in enough trouble already"
Cracks me up every time!
Even now after all these years still makes me laugh
Definitely. They don't make them like they used to 😥
I was a little boy when I watched and loved this series, let them rest in peace with these wonderful actors who have already left
There is no reason to cease your jollification just because a senior Gestapo officer in a particularly foul mood is entering your premises.
My favourite line of Herr Flick
*With thick French accent* Hide in the cupboard!

i love how they used accents to show that they are speaking different languages, havent seen that anywhere else.
When i was a kid i was convinced officer Crabtree was Freddie Mercury...don't judge me, kids are daft.
I see it.
These days he'd be Borat. 🤣🤣🤣
That made me lagh. Funny. 👍
I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST ME
I still feel the urge to say Good Moaning whenever I enter a store or a bar etc. but I never do
Same
I work in a cafe. The urge is too real
And to follow with "I'll just nop down the back pissage"
I quite often do, but then I'm at the age where nothing I say surprises anyone; needless to say I take full advantage of the fact.

Rose Hill, who played Madame Fanny La Fan, was actually an operatic soprano who had a small roll in "A Shot In The Dark."
She also appeared in Dad's Army as an air raid warden.
Hahhaha when Gruber starts to interrogate Monsieur Alfonse: Good morning 😂
1:28 good one!!!
the best was left out, when Gruber shout "We ask the questions!"
Picks up the phone: FLICK THE GESTAPO!
*inaudible*
No I said FLICK the Gestapo!
Alright chaps XD
This is my favourite comedy of all time, hands down
Listen very carefully l shall say this only once.

Gruber: "Rene a cheese plate quickly!" when Edith is about to sing
Ze flashing knobs.
Love, love love old British comedy.

Sam Kelly was Jewish, hence not wanting to say 'Heil Hitler'
@@RJSRdg everybody else was superhappy with it
I read the in-universe reason why was just that Geering was too lazy to say the whole thing
@@hilotakenaka why must there be a reason? its funny, that should be reason enough
Classic comedy - outstanding moments at a time that has sadly long passed.
Yeah, they'd never be allowed to make it today.
@@BillPurkayasthaLol I was gonna say you couldn’t get away with this today but you beat me to it
Was watching a history doc about the D day landing and they spoke of the French resistance, immediately thought of Allo Allo xD
René to his M-I-L: "Shut up, you old bat!"
This series cracked me up as a child! I fondly remember watching (80s) and laughing a lot. I also loved the end credits tune.
RENE! WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH THAT SERVANT GIRL IN YOUR ARMS??
You stupid woman! Cant you see that Ivette here was choking? Without me, she would have died!
You stupid woman!!!!!! Can't you see she's suffocating?????
@@beepbop1974 LMAO
"You stupid woman... can't you see this poor child is very upset because she heard her uncle died?"😂😂😂

My everyday catch phrase: What a mistake-a to make-a.❤
Heilla Mooosolini!
I used to love this as a kid... Especially Vicky Michelle Phwoar!
@Studio Autio No, she played Yvette. Personally I was more into Francesca Gonshaw that played Maria in the first season.
@@umachan9286 Soooo agreed.....mmmm
@@umachan9286 exactly Uma, Francesca was my first crush. Just wow, what a woman. Shame she left
@@Drchainsaw77 Yes she was an absolute beauty. Not the funniest character but very appealing
Swiftly and with style
'tis I, Leclerc' I do this now too lol
I thought it was Le Clair (a bit like chocolate eclair). Have I been mishearing after all these years?
@@rhyfelwrDuw No you have it right, it’s spelled LeClerc but pronounced LeClair 👍

Let's-face-it: Col. Hogan and his merry-men could have gotten those two pilots back to London, gotten that Von Klap painting back to its rightful owner and assassinated Hitler all in the same half hour!
Well, Col. Klink was certainly an asset in that mission.
Yeah they certainly dragged the British Airmen story out
0:28 Herr Flick was a bad baby.
The dino-mote is doon his troosers disgeesed as kindles
Not a bad character or after in the entire series
Vod you like to see my little tank?
Ha ha. I still recall an episode where Gruber performed the song "Mad about the Boy" in the café :-)

fantastic
I like how the British airmen speak even more English English than the English do! ("Helloooo!"")😂😂😂
Sad how some didn’t make it to the last season
Good moaning, it is I, LeClerc. Listen very carefully, I shall say zis only once. Ooh, Rene!

Bertorelli was the only character in Allo Allo who wasn't funny. I don't know whether it was the writers' fault or the actor's. Maybe both.
