This game is a classic case of a diamond in the rough. It's a Vincent Van Gogh, if you will; it didn't get nearly the attention it deserved. Sure, Pewdiepie and Markiplier played it, but it's mostly a forgotten portrait. There are so many things that really make this game perfect. It took its premise of being lost in a cursed art gallery, a fabricated world, and executed it amazingly. On top of that, there are many subtle details, too, down to the names of the main characters. Ib is a misspelling of Eve, Garry's name has an extra r, yet Mary's name is exact, perfect. There's no alteration, no typo, no flaw. The same could technically be said about her theme, which unlike every other song in the game, is a midi. This is just one example of this game's beautiful attention to detail. Thank you, kouri, for creating this masterpiece, and thank you vgperson for translating it for the rest of us to enjoy.
I know everyone is like "oMG GARRY YOUR NECK!111!!" But, can we just take a minute to appreciate the stunning soundtrack Ib has? I could listen to this beautiful and relaxing music for hours.

I don't see why people dislike Mary so much. Yes, she was portrayed as the "villain" in the story, but she really wasn't. She didn't have friends, and when she saw a girl her age (Ib) she just wanted to have fun with her. She was lonely in the painting world. Her father (Guertena) died and left her all alone, so it really makes me upset how people think she's the evil one.

Many time here and there sometimes I will always think of this song it feel so distant yet so close. Maybe cause I see some youtuber in my country play this game back when I was a kid and by kid I mean 7-10 of age not into story or anything. Where I don't even understand what I was looking at yet still I remember that feeling the feeling that this game is so beautiful even though I don't even knows what is it I'm looking at. When I play this game myself when I enter high school as a new year celebration, it's still feel so distant. It's feel like I was walking in my childhood or my past memories museum but I'm no professional art critics or anything like that, still now I'm not a kid anymore. Garry is such a gentleman. I wish all men were as chivalrous and kind as Garry. Just about all of the guys at my school are perverted idiots who care about their own selfish entertainment, not caring about the consequences they bring to themselves or others along the way. I'm often ashamed to think that I, being a teenage boy myself, may be initially stereotyped with such delinquents. I don't know what kind of negligent parents they had that allowed them to become such disorderly jerks, but I'm very lucky that mine raised me with more sophistication and politeness. I appreciate the small things about life that they take for granted. I'm captivated by nature, art, and music, and not today's sorry excuse for "music", I'm talking about real music like, well, this song as one example, but I also love most video game music as well as classical compositions. The thing that disgusts me most about guys like this are their reasons for wanting a girlfriend. Most of them want a girlfriend solely for sex, while I would like someone who I truly care about as well as someone who equally cares about me. I know I’m years late, but people seem to get the notion that because Mary has a tragic life, that makes her “not evil” or “not the bad guy”. While I certainly agree that it isn’t as simple as her being a mustache twirling supervillain, nothing and I repeat NOTHING, not even mental illness or a sad backstory, justifies even half the stuff she did in this game. Her goals were sympathetic, absolutely, but her actions were nothing more than relentless pain on innocent people. It’s not that I don’t feel for her, but people (and since it’s been years, I hope they realized by now) need to realize that she WAS the bad guy, she WAS in the wrong. It’s okay to accept that part and still love Mary.
This game, THIS. GAME. OH. MY. GOD. I remember first discovering this due to an obscure Italian TH-camr who translated English text fairly well. I binge watched the entire series and loved it, way more than whatever Italian youtube content creators were producing. So I started looking for more English related content and now here I am learning the language almost fluently trough special courses. Without this game I wouldn't have my passion for RPGs or my passion for English content. It truly holds a special place in my heart and I'd do anything to make it relevant nowdays again.The music is incredibly nostaligic too. Thing is though I've never actually played it, only watched it, I think I should give it the respect it deserves and give the game a try.Who knows I might even get emotional. If any of you guys want to know how things go just keep tell me. July 1rst 2023, I have finally played IB after 9 years of wating.Playing the remake version I only had faint thoughts about characters, puzzle solutions and plot elements. So one could say this was a new yet familiar experience.For example I was eager to re-experience Garry and remeber all his personality traits that made him my favorite character back then (he still is now, his gentle nature makes him cute and lovable 😁). In a matter of 2 days I managed to 100% complete the game with all the paintings and endings. All of the puzzles spread out across the Guertena Gallery were pretty simple to me because I remembered the solutions from all those years ago, which really baffles me.Strangely though I imagined that a maze section was in IB's nightmare. It was diffrent, though that might just be my memory to blame here. Story wise I didn't quite remember much let's not forget I was 5 and didn't understand much English so I had to go off of the rough translation of that Italian youtuber GiuliaGatta97. The first Ending I achieved was Memory's Crannies (I hope that was Its name because it only appeared on screen briefly) and in the second playtrough I achieved the other true normal and bad endings. Yet after 5 tries of trying to get promise of reunion + a walktrough I didn't managed to obtain it. Until in a possibly lucky run I ended up failing the Big doll room but IB automatically snapped Garry out of the room's "curse" and I SOMEHOW achieved the true ending. right now all that matters is that I got the True end and truthfully I am... SO HAPPY YESSSSSS!! I CAN FINALLY REST EASY. Jokes aside I'd give IB a 9.9.../10 for being the best 2012 Horror game but the best 2014 game in my fragile heart. Some parts to this day still frightened me in my first playtrough so It has definetly not lost his charm overtime.Yes I know I might've given this ranking due to nostaligia bias but frankly I DO NOT CARE THIS GAME IS PERFECT IN MY EYES. For some reason this song transports me to a street in late 19th century (late 1880s to 1890s) Britain on a Christmas eve night, in front of a toy store. As I enter the store, I find a charming music box, and when I play it, out comes a boy and girl who look like Garry and Ib holding hands, and this song plays. The shopkeeper, an old man, in a melancholic tone, tells me, "That box, it brings back memories. Happier memories. You name it and we probably watched someone play it together, then I recently saw that Ib was/got a remake and told my sister and she was just as excited as me xD

I remembered hearing this in a FNAF 2 Roblox game. This brings back so many memories to when I was younger. After years of searching, I finally found it. This not only reminds me of FNAF 2, but it also reminds me of anything I could think of. A vase of Roses being one of these things. Imagine hearing this while walking in a closed restaurant at night, just knowing they hired you for that job. This is so beautiful. This is so underrated, it reminds me of walking in the woods at night and hearing this. Or maybe in a closed restaurant like what I had said before. This Also reminds of cute babies. So cute!

There are many horror RPJs that I love and that I love, but IB has something special, something that makes my hair stand on end when listening to their music or when entering the home screen of the game, is it a good thing? , it's something bad? Is it something I like to feel, or is it an overwhelming nostalgia that makes me want to cry? I don't know, I never knew. But I know that, I'm going to keep listening to this song and I'm going to keep playing IB over and over again until I know it, because if there is one phrase that will never leave my mind, that is 'Welcome to the world of Guertena'. I believe this was one of the songs particularly composed for the game itself. Considering that kouri made it the main theme I think they wanted to make sure it perfectly captivated the tale of Ib. A beautiful tune, too. You can definitely hear the entire story within this one theme.
Whenever I stream this, I always play the first opening to the anime _Shiki_ as the pre-stream waiting screen music, bc its chorus and the beginning of this track (at the main menu) sound really similar.

Ugh all this bullshit about Mary being the good guy. Admittedly, she just wanted to make a friend. She's not a bad guy if you pay attention to the story. I know this was eight months ago but. This girl you're talking about, I had a "Friend" who was exactly like her. I was in elementary bacl then, I was on second grade and she came up to me and asked if she could be best friends with me. I was a nice person when i was young so i just smiled and said "sure!" These events are really similar to my relationship with her. For example, i was sitting next to someone at my class and talking to her, and after lunch she came up to me and said "We need to talk" And i was confused when she started yelling at me that we are best friends and i shouldn't be with anyone else. I really thought I did something wrong even if I truly knew there was something wrong with her. Well, when i was in fourth grade, I finally told my teacher and she solved this out. Luckily, I don't have to deal with her anymore since it's been years. She was horrible, oh and she started following me on instagram and other social media that has my real name in it. She really hasn't changed at all i can tell. Good to see someone who has gone trough the same shit because of psychos like them.

Maybe cause I see some youtuber in my country play this game back when I was a kid and by kid I mean 7-10 of age not into story or anything. Where I don't even understand what I was looking at yet still I remember that feeling the feeling that this game is so beautiful even though I don't even knows what is it I'm looking at.
When I play this game myself when I enter high school as a new year celebration, it's still feel so distant.

EDIT 16/12/23: Today my doggo friend of mine has pass away form Anemia. And me crying for the first time after 5 years. I just never see it coming I have three doggo friends of mine. Who would expect the healthiest one. the friend I prepare the least to have to say goodbye to. Would be the first one I have to say goodbye. Some how I kinda hurt too by the fact that I not even right there when he gone. Yes he's in the same room as me and all just in the back. I'm sitting right here on this computer after finish my game. Garry is such a gentleman. I wish all men were as chivalrous and kind as Garry. Just about all of the guys at my school are perverted idiots who care about their own selfish entertainment, not caring about the consequences they bring to themselves or others along the way. I'm often ashamed to think that I, being a teenage boy myself, may be initially stereotyped with such delinquents. I don't know what kind of negligent parents they had that allowed them to become such disorderly jerks, but I'm very lucky that mine raised me with more sophistication and politeness. I appreciate the small things about life that they take for granted. I'm captivated by nature, art, and music, and not today's sorry excuse for "music", I'm talking about real music like, well, this song as one example, but I also love most video game music as well as classical compositions. The thing that disgusts me most about guys like this are their reasons for wanting a girlfriend. Most of them want a girlfriend solely for sex, while I would like someone who I truly care about as well as someone who equally cares about me. They tend to like to see how well they can 'pick up chicks', or rather how easily they can get a girlfriend, while I'm waiting to find the one special girl that I want to spend the rest of my life with. I'm 16 years old (nearly 17), have never had a girlfriend, have never kissed anyone, and have never even been on a date, and I'm proud to say so, for I want to make sure that the girl I do these things with will be the one I really, truly love, and that she feels the same about me. Sorry for my little rant. I know I’m years late, but people seem to get the notion that because Mary has a tragic life, that makes her “not evil” or “not the bad guy”. While I certainly agree that it isn’t as simple as her being a mustache twirling supervillain, nothing and I repeat NOTHING, not even mental illness or a sad backstory, justifies even half the stuff she did in this game.
Her goals were sympathetic, absolutely, but her actions were nothing more than relentless pain on innocent people. It’s not that I don’t feel for her, but people (and since it’s been years, I hope they realized by now) need to realize that she WAS the bad guy, she WAS in the wrong.
It’s okay to accept that part and still love Mary.

THIS. GAME. OH. MY. GOD.
I remember first discovering this due to an obscure Italian TH-camr who translated English text fairly well. I binge watched the entire series and loved it, way more than whatever Italian youtube content creators were producing. So I started looking for more English related content and now here I am learning the language almost fluently trough special courses.
Without this game I wouldn't have my passion for RPGs or my passion for English content. It truly holds a special place in my heart and I'd do anything to make it relevant nowdays again.The music is incredibly nostaligic too.
Thing is though I've never actually played it, only watched it, I think I should give it the respect it deserves and give the game a try.Who knows I might even get emotional.
If any of you guys want to know how things go just keep tell me.

I have finally played IB after 9 years of wating.Playing the remake version I only had faint thoughts about characters, puzzle solutions and plot elements. So one could say this was a new yet familiar experience.For example I was eager to re-experience Garry and remeber all his personality traits that made him my favorite character back then (he still is now, his gentle nature makes him cute and lovable 😁).
In a matter of 2 days I managed to 100% complete the game with all the paintings and endings.
All of the puzzles spread out across the Guertena Gallery were pretty simple to me because I remembered the solutions from all those years ago, which really baffles me.Strangely though I imagined that a maze section was in IB's nightmare. It was diffrent, though that might just be my memory to blame here.
Story wise I didn't quite remember much let's not forget I was 5 and didn't understand much English so I had to go off of the rough translation of that Italian youtuber GiuliaGatta97.
The first Ending I achieved was Memory's Crannies (I hope that was Its name because it only appeared on screen briefly) and in the second playtrough I achieved the other true normal and bad endings. Yet after 5 tries of trying to get promise of reunion + a walktrough I didn't managed to obtain it. Until in a possibly lucky run I ended up failing the Big doll room but IB automatically snapped Garry out of the room's "curse" and I SOMEHOW achieved the true ending.
right now all that matters is that I got the True end and truthfully I am... SO HAPPY YESSSSSS!! I CAN FINALLY REST EASY.
Jokes aside I'd give IB a 9.9.../10 for being the best 2012 Horror game but the best 2014 game in my fragile heart. Some parts to this day still frightened me in my first playtrough so It has definetly not lost his charm overtime.Yes I know I might've given this ranking due to nostaligia bias but frankly I DO NOT CARE THIS GAME IS PERFECT IN MY EYES.

I remembered hearing this in a FNAF 2 Roblox game. This brings back so many memories to when I was younger. After years of searching, I finally found it. This not only reminds me of FNAF 2, but it also reminds me of anything I could think of. A vase of Roses being one of these things. Imagine hearing this while walking in a closed restaurant at night, just knowing they hired you for that job. This is so beautiful. This is so underrated, it reminds me of walking in the woods at night and hearing this. Or maybe in a closed restaurant like what I had said before. This Also reminds of cute babies. So cute!

There are many horror RPJs that I love and that I love, but IB has something special, something that makes my hair stand on end when listening to their music or when entering the home screen of the game, is it a good thing? , it's something bad? Is it something I like to feel, or is it an overwhelming nostalgia that makes me want to cry? I don't know, I never knew. But I know that, I'm going to keep listening to this song and I'm going to keep playing IB over and over again until I know it, because if there is one phrase that will never leave my mind, that is 'Welcome to the world of Guertena'.
And I also know that, although I'm not sure what it makes me feel listening to this masterpiece, but I love it.

I believe this was one of the songs particularly composed for the game itself. Considering that kouri made it the main theme I think they wanted to make sure it perfectly captivated the tale of Ib. A beautiful tune, too. You can definitely hear the entire story within this one theme.

Admittedly, she just wanted to make a friend. She's not a bad guy if you pay attention to the story. She's just a lonely girl who lost her "Father" and now wants to get out and wants some company. Sure.
But do you have any idea what a horrible friend she'd be? I had a friend who was kinda like Mary. She was so fucking annoying. She was a possessive bitch who told me to stop being good friends with other people and said that she wanted to be my number one friend no matter what. Me and our other friend played a small prank on her once, she walked up to me, hit me and said "Why did you do it with her, why didn't you choose to play the prank with me". One time we were fucking playing around and I ran from her and she was chasing me and laughing behind me so I ran a circle and sat down to rest. She walked up to me, tears in her eyes and slapped the glasses off of me and asked "Why were you running" and when I told her it was because we were playing and she was laughing, she said "Well I'm your best friend, you should know when I'm sad". She called me and complained that the world is horrible, because she smiled at someone on the street and he didn't smile back.

This girl you're talking about, I had a "Friend" who was exactly like her. I was in elementary bacl then, I was on second grade and she came up to me and asked if she could be best friends with me. I was a nice person when i was young so i just smiled and said "sure!" These events are really similar to my relationship with her. For example, i was sitting next to someone at my class and talking to her, and after lunch she came up to me and said "We need to talk" And i was confused when she started yelling at me that we are best friends and i shouldn't be with anyone else. I really thought I did something wrong even if I truly knew there was something wrong with her. Well, when i was in fourth grade, I finally told my teacher and she solved this out.
Luckily, I don't have to deal with her anymore since it's been years. She was horrible, oh and she started following me on instagram and other social media that has my real name in it. She really hasn't changed at all i can tell.
