    Well done Madi
    , Smart girl to keep it basic untill you work out what you need in it to be practical for you, an not some show room that you hate using due to it not being pratical, Good to see there is still some smart people in the world.

    I’m considering buying or possibly building a tear drop camper so this was a great review. Thank you for taking the time to provide your well thought out responses. So wise for one so young! 👍

    Excellent video. Reasons for choice is spot on. I thought of doing similar with motorcycle but ended up with a sidecar & using a hammock & tarp. Sidecar lets me take table & compact chairs. It works for me. You have a great set up, very done. Thank you for sharing.

    Hey Madi your trailer looks great it reminds me of a small version of a Caravan. It a great idea when you can park up for the night and you can sleep with out have to set it up because lots of camper trailers now days you have to spend at least half and hour setting it up.

      Hey mate! Yeah you’re absolutely spot on there! It’s the convenience and simplicity of it that I loved. I’ve done a lot of camping/hiking, and I’m forever simplifying set ups so my sleeping and eating is expedited and good quality!

    Awesome vid Madi! Loved the detail you went into explaining the functionality. Such an efficient use of space and perfect having aircon especially in FNQ. The teardrop looks perfect towed behind Xena the Jimny and the colour matches so nicely. Also love the name Argo as well. Happy travelling and enjoy 🤙

      Hey mate! Thanks so much for your kind words! Appreciate the support so much, I absolutely love that Frank was able to get the ivory sides fitted for me cause I just think the colour match makes it really seamless! Thanks again!! ☺️

    The one thing I did add to my set-up in my Teardrop was an Anderson plug so it charges the AGM in the Teardrop as I drive and keeps my fridge going which is in the camper. If I'm away for a few days and in one spot, I use a portable fold out solar flexible panel to top up the battery to keep the fridge happy. Same 100ah AGM and when that breaks, I'll upgrade it to lithium.

    • @_madi_cate
      @_madi_cate  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I’ve got the Andersen plug on the trailer just have to wire up one for the car ☺️

      @@_madi_cate It didn't cost much with the auto electrician, far less than I expected - probably around $200 for them to do both the trailer and my car. I was *super* happy with that!

    A nice set up Madi.
    We have a small teardrop style camper trailer which we tow behind a fully decked out Toyota Hiace campervan. The camper trailer is a second bedroom only and a bit extra stowage when on the road. No kitchen, as all the cooking facilities are in the Hiace. The little trailer only weighs 220kgs unladen and is a doddle to tow behind the Hiace. Packed up, probably around 300kgs. It easily passed the test on a three week tour around Tassie, lately. It received a lot of interest from other travellers while we were away.

    very nice little setup you have, I am the same way I like everything basic and am currently getting Square drop built, but not by The Teardrop company, I was thinking about air-con, but will do it with fans and open windows for the moment. Safe travels wherever you go 😁

    • @markgenrich7683
      @markgenrich7683 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Aircon is fine if you stay at powered sites To be honest you really do not need it and we have been out far west and up North. We just dont camp between December and January when temps can be up to and over 40 degrees. Have fans and screens all thats needed

    • @_madi_cate
      @_madi_cate  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah for sure! Aircon is not for everyone, I’ve just done enough camping in hot swags/tents/mozzie nets that I knew I wanted to have the capability to run an aircon if I was too hot! Also all the big caravans travel aus with Aircons fitted why not a teardrop 😋

      The pop up roof fans work unbelievably well - even just leaving them cracked open of a day makes a huge difference to the inside temperature. 👍

    Very interesting. We have a travelbug square drop camper and love the simplicity of camping in this way. You mentioned a thermocell is it for mosquitoes, how does it work? Also what sort of lock do you use for trailer. Thank you from Canberra

    • @_madi_cate
      @_madi_cate  ปีที่แล้ว

      Just saw this! Thermocell just creates a barrier around you kind of like the old school bug zappers! I have got a few locks, hitch lock, tow ball lock and a bike lock to lock a few items on the tool box

      I added the aircon unit, water tank with cold shower, roof rails, power outlets in the sleeping area, 250w solar blanket, external side lights, and I asked to have a little more depth in the kitchen and gave up a few mm in the sleep area ☺️ cost is at the end of the video/also in the second review video ☺️
