Saenchai is serious in this match, no fancy jumping kick, no cartwheel, no spinning... only the most effective punches and kicks. They are both awesome fighters.
I just learned they're both Muay Femur which technical fighters so they are playing chess and predicting each other the entre match which cool as hell.
Because this is a young Saenchai that fights Thais unlike today he just play around Farangs

It's crazy how Nong O played Saenchai's game of stand and trade. Even crazier how Nong O beat Saenchai to thr point of Saenchai using the clinch to scrape a victory. Nong O may very well be the #1 technician in Muay Thai

Namsaknoi is naturally bigger and was at a heavier weight at the time. It was a catch weight fight.
Nam still resorted to clinch game when he could not out strike Saenchai even being longer and bigger - but Namsaknoi is a legend anyways so no loss!
@@Animefightforum Namsaknoi is an adaptive fighter, he will find a way to beat opponent with his advantage, he found weakness in Saenchai clinch game and exploit it to death, he really is taller but maybe cut weight for that match. I rewatch that match quite often and still learn new thing from both of them, Saenchai was death serious in that match, no fancy moves whatsoever, just kill or be killed moves ;))

@@Adrian-jw3sp That was a catchweight fight, Namsaknoi was the naturally larger fighter and tried to strike with Saenchai and he had to switch to clinch to win. Saenchai striking was too much even for him! Namsaknoi is a goat though, so many different weapons and styles

We have only part of the fight, but the only round I'd give Nong-O is the fourth honestly (and *maybe* the fifth)... the rest of the time he didn't have much control over the fight, didn't make a step forward in the first rounds and got most of his kicks checked... it is obviously a razor-close match, and they are both legends, but I gotta give it to Saenchai

the 6 yrs age difference is really a factor, now nong-o s at his peak, and saenchai is a bit old to compete in main events, would be an another story if they fight in 2018 n later.
The best v the best. Almost impossible to score but as Saenchi was slightly the more active, the result is fair enough. 2 grand masters of the 8 limbs.

You will never see this amount of kicks thrown by non-Thais. Western fighters more often than not rely on brute force, much preferring to throw punches instead of technically executed kicks.

A clear senchai win - he has been more dominant in rounds 3and 4, with more aggressive elbow and keen. And in round 5, O chased him. Typical Thai ring scoring mechanism.

But Nong-O also got the majority of his kicks checked by Saenchai. The match was really close but , besides the 4th round, Saenchai was the dominant opponent: notice how Nong-O pretty much does not make a step forward while Saenchai maintains the control of the centre of the ring the entire time. Strangely enough, Nong-O lacked some of its aggressiveness here

gotta bear in mind, checked kicks or kicks that received a return kick dont count in muay thai rules, and Saenchai checked just about every single kick Nong-o threw. He copped a couple of sweeps, but other than that i think they were pretty close. They seemed to slow down in the final round which signifies it was a done fight in both their minds, and Thai rules are weird as shit compared to Western fight sports so God knows how they scored it.
Jay Kay do you even fight? Kicks to the arm score like fuck since it can literally break your arm. Think about it the arm is smaller than a leg and if you’ve seen it up close or felt one it hurts unexplainably harder than a leg kick or kick to the ribs since there’s not much muscle covering the bone. Return kicks do count because if you didn’t return your opponent would rack points up on your like nothing. The way Muay Thai is scored is over the whole fight instead of round by round that’s why Saenchai could’ve won but in my opinion Nong - O outclassed saenchai every round besides the 4th but the 4th scores the most.

@@vhollund No, but aggressiveness and control of the ring are taken into account: notice how (besides the 4th, that for me is on Nong-O) Saenchai is pretty much keeping Nong-O against the ropes at all times...

Isn't that Buakaw in the front row (between the photographer's legs half the time)? Nong O seems a lot younger than Saenchai, maybe he's the future. I've never seen Saenchai worn out like that. A Thai girl who was into Muay-Thai (when she wasn't busy being the most beautiful lady in the world in her spare time) told me that corruption is becoming a big problem in Bangkok and that her brother was killed for not doing what the gangsters wanted in the ring. I think Muay-Thai is the most entertaining sport in the world and someone could make a fortune creating a less corrupt MT venue in the US or Europe or Australia or maybe Japan (although I hope they keep the Wei Kru, Thai music, ring girls, etc., instead of ruining it with hip-hop etc.). I wasn't impressed by the venue in the Emirates, no spirituality at all.
Almost painful to see two masters of their craft going against each other, evenly matched, respectful but not fearful of each other, both unafraid to stand toe to toe and trade blows.
A very different side of when you see Thai fighters fight foreigners where they are much more relaxed and look like they’re in sparring in training.
Whoever won this match, there will be people with their own opinions on why the other should have won. Gambling influenced or not, every sport has its ugly side. One thing’s for sure though, both these men are legends in their own right and no one can take that away from them.

that is some bullshit. That is why legends like Samart Payakaroon keeps saying that current Thai scoring system has hurt some much the sport, that is why when thais go abroad to have fights and fight the way they do and loss then they go home and think they got robbed.

You can use them, you are not forced to. Some fights are all about clinch, this was all about kicks and distance.
+mitsos papadopoulos Punches are worth fuck all in Thailand . Sometimes when you have two top thai fighters like Nong - O and Saenchai that have pretty Busy fight schedules in both thailand and overseas they won't use elbows due the cuts that they can cause , which could potentially cost them there next fight when there opened up again and start pissing blood , Some countries have a very tough rules in regards to bleeding ,Australia for one ....

You can’t just jump into elbow range or boxing range without running into a roundhouse first with these types of fighters. Distance and timing.
