    Dandelions are medicine.They are also bee's first food. We choose to call them weeds. They grow where your lawn needs calcium and aeration.
    This was fun, thank you for teaching negative painting. I struggle with this.

    Sarah mentioned that she irons her paintings afterward, to flatten out the buckling. Can you tell me what the process is? Thank you in advance. :) Also, I love the color choices for this painting, and I can't wait to try it!

    • @LetsMakeArt
      @LetsMakeArt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Put your dry painting in white cotton fabric (painting side down- I put it in a white pillowcase )) iron the back of the painting while in the pillowcase, I also use a bit of steam. Once it’s nice and ironed and while it is still warm/hot, place it under a flat heavy surface to cool (I have used books, tiles, whatever I have depending on the size of the painting)

    new to watercolors and first THANK YOU!! i use art as distraction therapy for pain and I am thrilled to escape into watercolors instead of constantly thinking of my pain ... Second is there a video that talks about bleed proof white? how much water to use, can you use your same brush or do you need one just for bpw? thanks again you all are wonderful!

    • @mudlinka
      @mudlinka 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use a crappy brush for the bp white. Go easy on the water, you can always add more. Keep painting and best wishes!

    I'm a brand new painter, and I am so excited . . . I just ordered my first box last night (the June watercolor art box). Hoping I will have it for next week's painting. I also subscribed for the monthly subscription box!

    Question: do you ever drop ink (like Bombay ink) in the background washes?

    Dandelion seeds are known as ‘ clock’! That’s the white fuzz you’re referring too x

    Used the lid from the white paint in the subscription box and it was a good size for the dandelions! if you want something to help draw them

    Also, some brands of pigment watercolour paint will spread more easily than others. It depends on the ingredients used, e.g. honey. Also, dandelion fuzz balls are seed heads.

    Actually dandelions are bee food. They are very important because it is one of the first available sources of food for the honey bees after a long winter. Also for humans, the roots can be used as a tea. There has been claims that it can help with cancer.

    You mentioned the how well the liquid paints and the Canson paper go together for the bleeds. What paper do you recommend with solid paints to get a similar effect? Thanks.

    We used to call the seeds flying "fairies" when we were kids.

    Oh Sara, I'm so tempted to subscribe monthly to the monthly kit. What is the Canadian prices? KAREN From Canada

      I'm not sure what the conversion rate would be. Our boxes are $35 USD +shipping. International shipping does cost a bit more than domestic. Also this is a Karen friendly zone. All questions are welcomed. ;)

    How do you avoid the lines when you drop in paint

    • @LetsMakeArt
      @LetsMakeArt  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can try to blend it out. Hard lines can be hard when layering or adding additional water. Blooms can happen. Sarah usually tells us to embrace the bloom.

    Do you always paint with liquit watercolor?

    • @LetsMakeArt
      @LetsMakeArt  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of the time. We do have a few projects that are done with pan paints but Sarah prefers the vibrant colors achieved with liquid paints.

    Dandelions will choke out grass...so I guess it depends if you want a lawn full of "weeds" or grass.
