It's crazy how a change of drummer and producer could change everything for Blink. I love this Dude Ranch period so much where everything sounds authentic, Scott was a pure punk drummer, energetic and smiling. Alcoholism was just an excuse to throw him out and have the bling bling drummer to please the teenagers, but Scott was the soul of blink and gave the music this style like Pennywise or NoFX. Afterwards they fell into the artifices of pop, robot voices, commercials, wanting to fill stadiums and selling t-shirts and shoes. Too bad they always wanted more, this trio was perfect..

I love how this was such a subculture, the piercings, tats, dyed hair. We went thru hell in the mid to late 90’s pioneering this shit. Being 17 with tats and piercings got you expelled from school and the butt of jokes from the prep crowd (who all got the tats once it was verified and approved of as “cool”)
