Technically any engine i.e Otto cycle, Diesel Cycle, Brayton cycle all are made such that at idle, they are producing just enough power to power up the electricals and other systems and rev to maximum power output easily.

      * This is the fastest ACCELERATING, man created vehicle on the planet including the space shuttle.
A physicist did a study and calculated that if a 11,000 hp top fuel dragster could go full throttle for more than a quarter mile, it's speed per quarter mile would triple. That is 325 first 1/4 mile, then 975 x 3 x 3= 8775 at 1-mile then 26,325mph by 1.2 mile mark!!!!

    • @hanley7707

Hate to break it to you John, but that physicist is incorrect. We're pretty much done accelerating by 1,000 ft. Sure we may go up some after that mark if we wanted to go farther, but it wouldn't be much. It's simply due to the RPM and gear ratio.

The competition could come up from behind at 175 mph and the TFD can start when the competition touches the starting line.
    Absolutely brutal acceleration!
