Another good video. My ears pricked up when you mentioned Fritz Spiegl, as I knew his daughter, Helen, in the 1970's, when they lived on Aigburth Road, right by Liverpool Cricket Club. They moved out of there around the time you mentioned, so it is quite possible they lived in that house you walked past.

Another great video which is always appreciated. I remember the rowing boats and still find the parks very impressive. Feel a bit jealous that Roger McGough and Fritz Spiegl got to live in such nice houses in such a nice environment.

Great update as always Jeff. I always do lots of research myself of Liverpool history so things like the entrance of Sefton park I’ll see what I can find out and will let you know. I really do enjoy your videos.

thank you so much for these videos. they mean a lot to this ex-pat. I lived on Lucerne St near Sefton park for a few years in the early '70s.

As ever Jeff Brills. Do you do a Sefton park walk around. We used to go on the boating lake there for a day out as kids, or mainly to see where 'Miss Laxon lived' she was our Science teacher.. never did find out though

It does look grubby and full of weeds ,it's true ! What a shame ! It could be smart with all that Victorian building

Liverpool looks grubby. It needs a good clean up and weed removal.
There’s obviously no will to do it.

The council have given up cleaning the graffiti off the walls around the top end of the park - no sooner do they clean it than the yobs see a blank page for their ‘art’.

I was thinking the same, there’s no pride in the appearance.

@@scouseaussie1638 it’s very disappointing to see such an unkempt city.
It’s so dirty and disheveled. You’d think the people would make an effort themselves if the council can’t be bothered.
