My friend and I came out of church and decided to get something to eat, out side we noticed a homeless man, so we decided to get him some food, we got to talk with him and this man starting quoting scripture to us and he knew alot more scripture than us but he told us he didn't believe in it and that stuck to me. You can know alot of scripture which you should know but you also have to believe in it. The true worshipers will worship Jesus in Spirit (the Holy Spirit) and truth (His word, the bible).
Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. -Romans 12: 1-2
John 17v17 Jesus praying. 'Father, sanctify them by your Truth. Your word is Truth.' The Word washes us. The Word is the Spirit. The Spirit convicts us of sin, righteousness and judgement. 2 Tim 3v16 The Word is sufficient for godly living. Information plus application equals transformation.
I would also add the your heart is also the control centre of your affections ,,no?? Out of the heart proceed the issues of life scripture ? Isn't the heart also where everything is fleshed out / played out ? Where your treasure is there also will be your heart ?

Thank you for this much needed Truth, I struggle with self-centered fear because sinful Choices and compromise.

Im reading a book. Knowing God by packer and it talks about something similiar. We may know alot about God. But do we actually know Him ?

Demons are doctrinally perfect in knowledge but they don’t submit to truth.
