2:00 Her name is Margaret Nolan. She was a British actress known to American audiences as Dink in the James Bond film, Goldfinger.
@8:00 that "random" soldier is Larry Wayne Chaffin and the photo was taken on June 18, 1965 by the late Pulitzer Prize Winning Photograghper Horst Faas.
Larry came home only to die at 39 years of age from multiple health issues.

Naughty 50's Lady is Margaret Nolan. She was an English Actress and Model that appeared in Goldfinger. She didn't start her career till 1962. Margaret died last year.

Again you have collated a wonderful set of photographs. Most are emotive, but the American solider with ''war is hell'' written on his helmet and the 3 guys at the soup kitchen so thin and emaciated really got to me. The saying is ''lest we forget'', but sadly I think the world has.

9:00 If I'm remembering correctly, these 'splatter masks' were issued in small numbers to tank crews, as molten (or just plain excruciatingly hot) metal from impacting shells fly around inside.

2:00 1950s Naughty Lady is apparently Pinup & Bond Girl Margaret Nolan, a.k.a. Vickie Kennedy.
You got there before me. She sadly died last year I believe.

9:35 has been used for many nefarious purposes. If cropped carefully, it has been made to look as if there were only three people in shot.
The man to the right with a drink in his hand, was that Richard Deacon, the man who played on Leave it to Beaver? Fred Rutherford.
The Arab Christian lady at 3:22 is a great reminder that not all Arabs are Muslim .In fact, a sizable segment of the Arab population is Christian.

At 4:36, that's Mount Suribachi, on Iwo Jima.

The picture at 4:00 is hardly showing a funeral:
1. Funerals in the Wehrmacht (to which the Luftwaffe belonged) were carried out as burials not cremations (half of the identification tag will remain with the corpse).
2. No cremation would be carried out on an airfield.
3. If it showed a funeral, all soldiers would be in full dress uniform with weapons and lined up in "attention" (=stood still).
4. The coffin looks like a transport box.
5. For a funeral the coffin would be covered with a national flag.
6. No soldier would smile in a solemn event like a funeral or wear a straw hat like the person at the left side of the picture does.
The gathering looks like a casual off duty event. There is a chalk writing on the box - unfortunately it can't be deciphered.
Especially the open fire near the parked He 111 in the background reveals a very relaxed attitude towards the Luftwaffe's service regulations and disciplinary proceedings.

10:00 That photo most likely was taken at some joint at the Jersey Shore.
The nuclear test was Enewetak Atoll in the Marshall Islands not Nevada.

Your photos are great, your captions leave a lot to be desired. Jayne Mansfield and Sophia Loren are hardly the most famous photo ever. The Hindenburg, the flag raising at Iwo Jima, sailor kissing nurse,…just to name a few.
Upon which the world was made hard; we have been too soft among the shells we stepped on left behind by trials of time.
