  • Check out this quick drum mixing tutorial using a plug-in called Auto-Align from SoundRadix. Auto-Align is an automatic microphone alignment and phase correction plug-in that analyzes your multi-mic recording and automatically detects and compensates for the delay between the microphones sample-accurately, significantly reducing the comb-filter effect and dramatically improving the resulting sound.
Please listen on High Quality Speakers or Headphones because Sound Radix Auto Align can be considered a small BUT big change

Hello: THANK-YOU for the BEST tutorial on this plug-in! I've owned for years, and it's been hit or miss, so I don't use it hardly at all.
One question: Would you align the "room mics" to the snare or bass drum? Or just experiment? Thanks again! Subscribed!

Thank you so much for the kind words. I typically don't align the room mics to anything. You can almost think of them as "reverb" rather than part of the kit and I usually am filtering the lows/highs a decent amount so it's not as much of a worry. Sometimes I actually even push them farther away with a delay to make the room larger.
