This is a New Year's special delivered from a 200-year-old old private house built in the Edo period.

日本人の私が見ても素晴らしき日本の伝統的なお正月で、本当に感動しました。先祖代々受け継がれている風習は素晴らしいですね。ひらりさんの子供達が羨ましいです。

ご実家の離れも、昔からの伝統的な習わし通りのお飾りや風習も、今はなかなかないのではないでしょうか。伝統を残すという意味で大変貴重な動画だと感じました。公開してくださりありがとうございます。同じく日本人ですが感動しました。

일본의 전통 가옥과 새해 준비를 볼 수 있어서 재미있고 소중한 영상이였습니다. 한국과 비슷한 것도 있고 다른 것도 있어서 상당히 재미있었어요. 한국에서도 할머니세대에서 정성껏 제사를 준비했던 전통이 이제는 점점 사라지고 있어 아쉽습니다. 모쪼록 아름다운 새해 풍경이 계속 계승되었으면 좋겠네요. 새해 복 많이 받으세요!

うちもお正月はほぼ同じように神棚に御飾りやら、親から自然とおしられたことをします。
むかしからの慣わしが少しんどくなる時もあるけど、やはり同じことをしなくては「気」がおさまらないです。
それが、幸せなんだと思います

とうこママさん、初めまして😊初めてコメントをさせて頂きます😃私の所もお節料理は手作りで、御先祖様から代々引き継がれて来ている物で、子供に女の子が産まれたら小さいうちからお節料理の作り方を教えられますよ😁お節料理作りも6年前に母から私へと世代交代しました👍ですが、私の子供が女の子では無く男の子(中学2年生)1人なので、お節料理作りは私の代で終わりそうです😣
Loved seeing your parent's house! My dad was an architect and studied in Japan and I recognized the fence and gate pattern. He used the same pattern when he built our house in 1960s. It was one of a kind her in the US/California.

Happy New Year! It's so fascinating to see how Japanese people welcome in the new year. The ingredients may be unfamiliar but the sentiment and symbolism is not. I'm African-American and here in the American South, we have a similar ritual. We get together with friends and family and eat black-eyed peas (the dot on them symbolizes a coin), collard greens (a kind of mustard green, the green color for prosperity), and cornbread and other old-fashioned dishes to remind us of where we come from. Wishing you all the best in 2024, may you get everything your heart desires!

Hello Touko mama and family. I really enjoyed watching your New Year preparations it ended too soon for me. Thank you for allowing us to see your celebrations in a lovely old house. We used to sit on my grandma's porch eating pineapple jam sandwiches with hot milky tea made with milk from her cows.
