*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
At 105 episodes, many of us have long awaited the arrival of Kurt Rosenwinkel to the living room stage. *And in the spirit of the phenomenal guitarists that have jammed with the Trio, Kurt brings distinctive warmth & his understated coolness.* (And with a first glance of his shirt, you know the man’s delivering the goods - a hip display of ‘shifting design’, no doubt. )
*There is such fluid intentionality in Kurt’s playing - so purposeful, profound, & utterly unforced.*
Family, this was another top-tier, Emmet’s Place moment.
He has a rare sense of space, coupled by an awareness of how the elements behave. *Kurt’s spontaneity invites a union of sound, light, & perspective. Lucky us, we can not only feel his notes, but ‘see’ them take shape on that canvas of vibration.*
Yeah man, *a soulful groove doesn’t come without a close relationship to the Source* - and, last night, we got a step closer to that Divine dimension. ❤️🔥
Thank you Kurt, Emmet, Kyle, & Claffy for sharing your artistry & including us in such a special, special evening.🎼🌎🌌✨
Hey Meira! The trim should process overnight :) we had some trouble with TH-cam this week😠
Thanks so much, Spencer…I so respect all efforts to serve the moment & the music…that is infinitely more important 🌎🙏🏽💯 The love & hustle is what has kept things going for these years …🎯
Thanks Meira!!
now this violoncello is haven
this is very special
really beautiful
This is basically a new Kurt record 🔥
Kurt's playing touches the face of God.
A free guitar masterclass showing us beautiful comping, soloing, blasting runs and of course, his shirt.
yeah it is. But I'd actually like to see a creative work of art instead of a masterclass. I prefer the records, for example the big band album, Caipi or the Next Step
@@JannisSicker Well, it sounds like art to me, buddy. What I meant was that Kurt has it all - the man has the chops to accompany, solo, and compose. I don't understand your comment. Are you saying that if you have all these skills, it won't be considered art anymore?
@@JannisSicker Kurt being didactic doesn't turn the concert into a class. It was just a figure of speech.
Kurt Rosenwinkel is in his own league. The top tier of jazz guitarist of all time. his vocabulary is so vast, never running out of ideas and swings his tail off! I’m so glad you featured him on this concert. 100 stars!
Glad that you guy's played kurt's compositions. IMHO he's a great player but even greater composer.
Ok it s about time !!!! I can’t wait to see Lage Julian and Jonathan Kreusberg

Yes
Charles Altura as well 🙏
Trop magnifique. Très juste magnifique 😂❤😂 je kiff
Love to hear Alex Claffy on the bass. Beautiful playing and groove.
Was almost positive that Emmet's place was going to catch fire and burn to the ground during Kurt's solo on Nica's Dream
Agreed, they are smoking on this one and Kurt just takes it to another level. So wondeful to finally see this collaboration. Great band but surely a piano-guitar pairing that is as good as it gets.
Here in the teeming metropolis of Peoria, IL, jazz of this calibre is the exception, not the norm. Don't get me wrong. There are many exceptional and dedicated players, just not the necessary demographics that result in the venues and audiences on any kind of regular basis. It is what it is. Having TH-cam channels such as this, Small's Jazz Club and others helps in allowing us who love this expression to absorb and to enjoy. If we can't get it live, we can come here and get it virtually. Thank you for the artistry, the virtuosity and the willingness to share it, even ***way *** out here.
What an amazing time we live in. Being invited into the living room listening to the young greats of our time.
Been looking forward to this one for YEARS

Love how Kurt is playing a Yamaha guitar.
Kurt's solo on Nica's Dream is one of the most beatiful things I have ever heard. Period.
This was an awesome show. I have heard a lot about Kurt, yet never had seen him play. His fluidity is amazing and his sound is fantastic. A truly gifted guitarist. I will try to see him live.
Great playing and great shirts 😂🎉 also kurt channeling those vast interstellar sounds going where coltrane went
Kurt is so killin!!!!!!!! Untouchable bro
nice harmonics, but a little boring rhythm. typical rosenwinkelstuff.
Yeah, man. For sure. Typical language he basically invented.
@@TorrieSeager i dont play guitar. my father does, but he studied classical guitar and classic composition back in the days.
i know, jazzguitarrists tend to worship rosenwinkel. i dont care. i prefer other guys.
@@wurstfinger3289haha who doesn´t care duuude.
@@pablo_ibarra_P the comment before was a little offending back in the days^^
Amazing.. so happy they played When Sunny Gets Blue. I always loved Kurt's version on his album Intuit
Came here to say this exact thing. Intuit was my first exposure to KR around 2006/2007 via AccuRadio
Same here. 'Intuit' is a great record.
Great record❤
Love this👌
Kurt always sharp and soft, everywhere in music ❤
Wow Nica's Dream!!! 😮 Killing!
Kurt rosenwinkel 'tube man's' guitar tone shortening effect COMING IN HOT.. HAT! HAT!
The episode that i waiting for a long time. My GOAT in the Emmet's place. 🎉🎉🎉
your best one yet! one of the world's best guitar players and keyboard players together ! Way to go, man go
Been waiting for Kurt to show up and was not disappointment. These two improvisers are reviving the art world wide.
Such great tone!...
An incredible gift of music! Thank you!!
This concert was so great to listen to, thanks very much. Such an intriguing guitar tone and attack too, I really enjoy it.
wow! That smile on my face when i heard Boplicity start!..
Je vous aime. Cette proposition Cette passion juste bien. ❤
Wow what a gem. Swings.. Great interaction, everyone listening.. Nobody overplaying. Does justice to the tunes. Gorgeous, thank you.
Loved what Emmet said about Kurt. He was one of the first jazz guitar players that really got in my ear and hooked me. I started studying jazz for the sole purpose of being a better improviser without much background in jazz, and now I love it.
From a London based, California fan! Can't wait to see tomorrow night, LONDON, late show, xx Judith
When Kurt plays standards, I can hear where he’s bopping from. Thank you Mr. Rosenwinkel !
glad to see Ryan from The Office got his life together and started playing jazz.
I’ve gotten that like 10,000 times lol
Benny I knew you’d see this
Wow man, que guitarra tan cálida. Verdadero Jazz, una delicia el escuchar estos musicos.

Sublime!
Nice! Guitar and Piano Quartets are my favourite!

Yeahhhhhhhhhhh🎉
I saw Rosenwinkel at the Village Vanguard but half the time he was accompanying his singing wife who was okay but I came to see KR. Now with Emmet, I can hear just how good Kurt is.

워 대박 !!
I wish Emmet could create episodes on a daily basis
holy ... HOW?! :D i mean weekly is insane.
@@wurstfinger3289 it’s just a fantasy of mine 😅

Niceee
The Miles phrase! 48:20 🔥
Glad we got some Disney in there! 1:46:28
Ryan from The Office is a great trumpet player!
Fancy watching this I think I've just had the best ever dream
Yeah, cats!! Boinin’!
and I say "god*mn!!!!" 💥💥
I just noticed Half Nelson 11:00 is just the same as Lady bird
Is it me or is the audio gone for the first 7 min or so?
actually no it seems to be 7 minutes out of sync maybe.
yeah, audio for boplicity starts at about 8:05
1:45:40
Wow!!! Didn't know that Lionel Messi plays bass so well...go Messi!!!
0:46 1:17
The drummer looks like Buckwheat from the little rascals
Audio is delayed by ~474s..
This beautiful performance has everything except air conditioning!
Also must be said that Kyle Poole really has an amazing touch and knows how to play small rooms like that. It's clear whenever another drummer gets on how much louder and heavy handed they feel. Respect!
Mike Moreno? Lage Lund?
Yamaha SG500 or SG510?
Аз Emmet Cohen на живота си
On what day does this stream?
Hey there, Conor - these performances stream on Monday nights @7:30p Eastern …🔥🎼 they’ve been a near-sacred gathering in Emmet’s apartment, since the pandemic…so, come swing with our global musical family 💯🎶 -Live performances from the apt. were originally streamed weekly, but are now on a monthly basis …however, you can still catch recorded performances from the Trio’s tour schedule, which continue to air each Monday (also @ 7:30p) Blessings, friend.
Does anyone know the name of the first tune?
Boplicity
@@josherney9820 thanks so much. I know the tune but I'm always terrible with titles 🤣
