At least once in a lifetime, for Joo (defender) ever beat Ma lin. Whoever love defender skills, the journey to win any offensive player at top level is never easy task. Defensive players always under rated. For a defender to be in world ranking, was very inspiring. Indeed Joo were at his prime time. Lots of good attacking forehand from a defender. Right strategy and fitness had help him won this match. Hope to see more defensive players to be at the world top ranking.

Ma Lin was the #1 player and should have won the WTTC Single that year. The one and only one trophy Ma missed in his illustrious TT career. He was surprised by Joo Sae Hyuk. The same thing happened to Wang Hao in the 2004 Olympic TT final against another Korean player, Ryu Seung Min. Those 2 S. Korean players were really good and constantly challenged the Chinese players then.
In 2005, another Korean player, Oh Sang Eun managed to make it to the semi finals of the 2005 WTTC. He lost to Wang Liqin but it definitely wasn’t an easy task for Liqin. The early 2000s was when the Koreans really shined.
This match shows that what they call "defender" is actually an attacker who defends well... whereas an "attacker" is an attacker who defends poorly. When Joo attacks, Ma loses almost everytime.
You guys should watch the match btw malong and JSH. Tat match was way intense than this. In my opinion, prime ma long has more consistency and explosiveness than ma lin. No hate to those saying ma lin is the best attacker tho, but ma long is GOAT for me

It is very tiring whenever a pen holder hit stroke in forehand as I am a heavy hitter pen holder.If Ma Lin does have a powerful backhand smash like I have that heavy defender can’t see it at it burst full speed without any spin you can’t see it with your naked eyes.Ma Lin loses because he is tired already however is the God of Penholder forever!

@@znsnksbsi8510 Actually, the ball is slower now. The issue is that because the balls spin less, attackers make fewer mistakes against choppers.
More like Joo was the attacking player and Ma Lin more o the defensive .
