  • A MUTASA woman who recently made headlines claiming that she was being haunted by a ghost of her neighbour who died after confiscating her ritual offering - has now been cornered by her stepchildren - who dragged her to a traditional court, accusing her of defiling their homestead.
The children were led by their sister, Sharon Mhukayesango, and accompanied by their father, when they dragged Ellen Mhukayesango (52) to Chief Mutasa’s community court, accusing her of defiling their homestead. This follows Ellen’s appearance at the court last month, claiming she was being haunted by a ghost believed to be that of her neighbhour who died five years ago after she allegedly confiscated a ritual offering (muteuro) given to her by white garment prophets from Gandanzara Village to protect herself from suspected witches.
Ellen alleged that the deceased neighbour, only identified only as Mai Lloyd Dzingai, had returned from the dead to haunt her. She claimed she has been seeing Mai Lloyd’s ghost in her kitchen for years, forcing her to swap kitchens
