      Yeah! Giving it the feel of a more sorted mature product enhancing the ownership experience and sense of quality. Any savings in running cost is a side effect. Probably clawing that back on the purchase price and then some.

    I made a mean spirited comment about Steve referring to his childhood and how he was poor a lot.
    I just want to apologise for saying that, I have watched a lot more of your videos since then and he’s a decent guy with good intentions and a conscience about how he shares his success as much as possible.
    You’re an inspiring guy and people need to hear your story so they can believe they can also succeed even starting with nothing - thanks for your content and the effort you make to bring it to us - Tim

    a lot of people think certain super/hyper cars are an investment. I tend to only agree on the condition that you get it at sticker and literally don't drive it. otherwise your expense in owning the car eats into any "investment" you thought you made. Maintenance/tax/registration/insurance/mileage etc... Just buy the car knowing its a depreciating asset and enjoy it.

  • @patrickmadigan4285

    This was a cool video guys, I definitely thought maintenance would be more expensive, but the part costs at the end were mind boggling. Thanks for finding out and letting us know though, i've been curious on motor, trans, and brakes costs on hyper cars. Any chance on finding out the same for the LaFerrari, or 918?

  • @JSAFIXIT
    @JSAFIXIT 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    I expect the engine cost to be extremely high, I've seen replacement costs on newer AMGs close to 100k. The brake rotors surprised me a bit, but the pads are absurd lol. 45k ISH.. for pads and rotors all around is wild.

    • @themechanic6
      @themechanic6 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very exotic pad and rotor materials, combined with extremely complex manufacturing processes makes them expensive. AMG, and PORCHE run about 5k front and 5k rear on certain models

    800k for the engine... meanwhile you could have a 2000 hp Hurican built for that and have money left over. They just see Bugatti ownership as such an elite club that it's a badge of honor to pay those prices for maintenance items. It just further makes the ownership that much more exclusive. I have said that no matter how much money I ever had, I can't imagine spending it on a Bugatti. P1/ Senna / 918 / yes... Bugatti, nope.

      Well I’m pretty sure that he finances most if not all the cars. The down payments, services and yearly finance cost are obviously a couple of million a year but easier to manage if you have cash flow than sinking 40m into owning the cars outright. And smarter too!

    • @georgecroney6168
      @georgecroney6168 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@freddie_mvp if you look at finances as living 5 yrs ahead you basically already own it outright when you sign, he's basically just not spending the money yet but gets the car. At the same time he can invest and turn that money over whilst he owns the car, hopefully if he doubles his money over the time of ownership the car will work out free. That's why rich people stay rich, they make things work for them rather than working for things

      I hear ya I would definitely be putting on some very fun miles on I don’t understand how someone that has the money to afford these super fun hyper cars can just let them sit in the garage instead of enjoying them cause the reason why they cost so much money is because of all the engineering and technology that they have that makes them able to drive with all the incredible capabilities they have and that’s why they cost so much more than the average sport car I just think it’s a total crime when such a car just sits in a garage and collects dust cause the owner is afraid to put miles on it and worrying about not turning a profit cause they don’t really care or appreciate the car for what it is and strictly treat it as an investment okay I understand that you don’t want to throw money away but if you’re looking for a investment there’s so many other more profitable stuff to put your money so if you are blessed with the means of affording such a vehicle and you have one then do your self a favor and enjoy your hard work and appreciate what you have cause you can not take the money with you when your time is up and don’t you think it would be a shame if you don’t make memories that you can create with your family and the people you care about so to all the hardcore car enthusiasts that drive your cars I tip my hat off

  • @jna7316
    @jna7316 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    To be honest I'm not surprised that an engine on this car is about 900k to replace or the 200k transmission (im going to assume the amounts mentioned do not include installation labour as well). I'm a mechanic and have had to quote clients complete engines or rare cases overhauls. Also I know for the most part it's pretty involved to service one of these automobiles. As the engine compartment can not just be opened. There are 16 oil plugs alone just to change the oil on it. I mean yes there Is always the chance something could go wrong and 1 year you will have to spend more money than other years. But if you put it in prospective of a 3+ million dollar automobile 200k over 10 years does not seem unreasonable. But also I've always had the mentality that if you have to ask how much it cost to buy , Insure, or maintain. Chances are you can't afford it.

I still cannot imagine a world in which I would consider it worth it to spend that kind of money to first of all purchase, and then maintain that car. Simon Kidston in one video driving the car calls it "Open Wallet Surgery". Will I ever own this car? Probably not in this lifetime. What if I won the 1 billion dollar PowerBall lottery? Probably not still. Some of the problems when people buy vehicles like this is they think they just have to put the $3M down and that’s it. Keeping it around will probably cost you 3 times that during its entire lifetime.
    So yeah; can’t wait for my next lifetime to finally own one of these!

    What I really want to know is how detrimental and absolutely necessary some of these things are. Like how much of these scheduled maintenances and stuff can you ignore and just keep driving your car. Like will it just completely break down very quickly without these? Because like your normal everyday cars theres recommended maintenances every x miles but most of the time those intervals are way shorter than they REALLY need to be. But performance cars must be a different story then
    Because I've had a car mechanic tell me those recommended maintenances are intentionally made shorter than they need to be because of money (surprise surprise). Your car will not explode into pieces most likely if you skip a few over its lifetime.

      @@khel9505 you seriously need to use Google. It literally says that a 2015 LaFerrari with 788 hp, a 6.3L V12, with a 0-60 in 3.2 seconds, built in Maranello, Italy, costs US$1,420,000
      The Aperta models cost somewhere around $2M.
      Albeit, the first few hundred of them sold between $3-4M. But that's not the case here. The Bugatti is worth twice as much as the Ferrari now.
