a lot of people think certain super/hyper cars are an investment. I tend to only agree on the condition that you get it at sticker and literally don't drive it. otherwise your expense in owning the car eats into any "investment" you thought you made. Maintenance/tax/registration/insurance/mileage etc... Just buy the car knowing its a depreciating asset and enjoy it.

I expect the engine cost to be extremely high, I've seen replacement costs on newer AMGs close to 100k. The brake rotors surprised me a bit, but the pads are absurd lol. 45k ISH.. for pads and rotors all around is wild.
Very exotic pad and rotor materials, combined with extremely complex manufacturing processes makes them expensive. AMG, and PORCHE run about 5k front and 5k rear on certain models

Well I’m pretty sure that he finances most if not all the cars. The down payments, services and yearly finance cost are obviously a couple of million a year but easier to manage if you have cash flow than sinking 40m into owning the cars outright. And smarter too!

At the same time he can invest and turn that money over whilst he owns the car, hopefully if he doubles his money over the time of ownership the car will work out free. That's why rich people stay rich, they make things work for them rather than working for things

To be honest I'm not surprised that an engine on this car is about 900k to replace or the 200k transmission (im going to assume the amounts mentioned do not include installation labour as well). I'm a mechanic and have had to quote clients complete engines or rare cases overhauls. Also I know for the most part it's pretty involved to service one of these automobiles. As the engine compartment can not just be opened. There are 16 oil plugs alone just to change the oil on it. I mean yes there Is always the chance something could go wrong and 1 year you will have to spend more money than other years. But if you put it in prospective of a 3+ million dollar automobile 200k over 10 years does not seem unreasonable. But also I've always had the mentality that if you have to ask how much it cost to buy , Insure, or maintain. Chances are you can't afford it.

If I had the privilege to own such a work of art, I wouldn’t even blink at the costs it takes to maintain these. For starters, no one else would be able to service these, so there’s really no choice. I will gladly pay the money to keep this guy running. Will I ever own this car? Probably not in this lifetime. What if I won the 1 billion dollar PowerBall lottery? Probably not still. Some of the problems when people buy vehicles like this is they think they just have to put the $3M down and that’s it. Keeping it around will probably cost you 3 times that during its entire lifetime. So yeah; can’t wait for my next lifetime to finally own one of these!

For a fraction of the cost you can own a Lucid Saphire which is just as luxurious but blows the doors off the Bugatti. With probably very little maintenance costs. I never understood why anybody would own a Bugatti when it costs over $20k to change 1 tire.

What I really want to know is how detrimental and absolutely necessary some of these things are. Like how much of these scheduled maintenances and stuff can you ignore and just keep driving your car. Like will it just completely break down very quickly without these? Because like your normal everyday cars theres recommended maintenances every x miles but most of the time those intervals are way shorter than they REALLY need to be. But performance cars must be a different story then Because I've had a car mechanic tell me those recommended maintenances are intentionally made shorter than they need to be because of money (surprise surprise). Your car will not explode into pieces most likely if you skip a few over its lifetime.

It literally says that a 2015 LaFerrari with 788 hp, a 6.3L V12, with a 0-60 in 3.2 seconds, built in Maranello, Italy, costs US$1,420,000 The Aperta models cost somewhere around $2M. Albeit, the first few hundred of them sold between $3-4M. But that's not the case here. The Bugatti is worth twice as much as the Ferrari now.

What I really want to know is how detrimental and absolutely necessary some of these things are. Like how much of these scheduled maintenances and stuff can you ignore and just keep driving your car. Like will it just completely break down very quickly without these? Because like your normal everyday cars theres recommended maintenances every x miles but most of the time those intervals are way shorter than they REALLY need to be. But performance cars must be a different story then
Because I've had a car mechanic tell me those recommended maintenances are intentionally made shorter than they need to be because of money (surprise surprise). Your car will not explode into pieces most likely if you skip a few over its lifetime.

The Aperta models cost somewhere around $2M.
Albeit, the first few hundred of them sold between $3-4M. But that's not the case here. The Bugatti is worth twice as much as the Ferrari now.
