These are extremely good looking. I'm blown away by the versatility of "wall texture sheet as well as the sewn hides sheet. You continue to produce such top notch crafts which CLAIM to be for a specific craft, but in truth are toolboxes for making numerous other builds, simply by being creative with how one uses the components.
@@Benjamin-l2f4f I'm waiting to see what the full texture pack includes, but I'm getting a strong medieval cathedral vibe from what we've seen so far. Perhaps a wall with a side chapel. ;-)
Another solid episode. Great subject matter, beautifully presented, and you again show your knack for providing unusually clear and easy-to-follow instructions. Thanks again!
Those poor orcs and goblins. They work so hard tanning their skins only to have them torn and tattered. All kidding aside, this is lovely. I enjoyed this and so many of the other objects, tiles, and scenes you create. Thanks.
Love it right on time! We plan to make some Arglel-Bargle this weekend with the kids! They gona love that craft! i will make so much for some pre-historique setting!
Amazing orky design! If you want to make these look "lived in", use some cotton wool to make a bit of smoke coming out of the holes at the tops of the huts. Orks cooking inside 🤔
looks great, i love how easy and simple it all is.. if you have a color printer this is a fairly fast way to get down some terrain. I tend to build all my own and I don't have a 3d printer so it's all manual which i love to do but supplementing it with your ideas makes things so much easier... thanks for sharing
@@LB_adventurer Thanks for the Sub! (glad to hear that you enjoyed the vid :) ). And yeah... my main aim is to create ways which help to get terrain to the table relatively quickly, cheaply, and easily (which I find especially useful for RPGs ... as you never know where those pesky PC's will end up next :) )
Look fantastic. I can imagine that with a bit of work one could make it so that the roof can be removed. Any chance of a follow up with interior textures, such as bed mats and wall decorations?
I think I'll probably just remove the whole hut and make a round tile to represent the inside (so that the walls aren't getting in the way during play).
As always, nice build. I was wondering if you use good quality glue sticks or just basic / cheap ones? I don't know if mines are too cheap or if I don't put enough glue on my builds. The edges of textures tend to unglue.
Thatched roofs would likely need to have specific cone shapes designed for them... and thus be less versatile than the skins. I might try to make some proper roundhouses in the future though :)
Love this one to the max. Awesome textures. 11 out of 10. Any chance you will turn that stone one into a full sheet like the other 2 textures in this video?
I might do something similar - though they'll need to be reworked if they are to be used as floor tiles though - as these ones have directional lighting (from the top down).
very interesting hubs, the roof in particular is very detailed. please dont take this badly, but i do think that the walls are a little plain looking, maybe is the contrast with the roof being so 3D vs the perfect round shape of the walls. again, is not that the walls are bad, they are ok, but since the roof looks like is made with actual miniature leather the contrast is there in my eyes
When making things the way I do, there's no getting around the fact that some sacrifices are going to have to be made to keep things easy to make (it's just paper stuck to card at the end of the day :) ). However, when they are on the table, I'm quite happy with how they look TBH... but YMMV of course.
@@CrookedStaffTerrain of course, as i have said is not that the walls look bad, is just that the roof is incredible, in fact is basically done in a way that you would do an actual leather roof in real life, you even add actual wooden supports to it, and also "fix" the places that look bad with more leather shaped pieces, not that it even looked bad in the first place, at least on camera, but the end result of the roof is a really good one. to be perfeclty honest, i think that i only see something off in the one that is completely made of stone, maybe is because is the one closest to the camera, or maybe because is the one that has the most surface showing the same texture (the others have the doors more visible). maybe is because the only full stone one... i dont really know. again, is not that it looks bad, but i feel like is not as good as the others for some reason
You could add weathering with acrylics if you choose. Plus there’s the shields and banners to hang around the sides. He’s given you a wood frame in shape of the door. You could cut that or use the toothpicks for windows that could be draped in the door skin textures. He gives you a starting point. It’s up to you and your imagination to take it to the next level. These are essentially free. I don’t see there’s anything to complain about personally.
@@Liofa73 this is why i didnt want to point out that the wall was not as good as the roof. people are quick to go to "you are complaining" and things like that. im not complaining, i think these are cool, i have been watching this channels basically since episode 10 or so, hell, half the things i have for my campaigns is done using what he does. and you can go to any video and you will see a comment of myself saying that whatever he has done in it is great. the one time i point out that something is not perfect because there is too much contrast between the details of one part of the build and another part and i get these in response. you know what? i think that im not going to comment in these anymore, no anything bad but also not anything good
Just a cheap inkjet one - it's a canon MG2550s. I think they currently sell at around £50... but I have seen them go down nearer to £35 in some sales from time to time. I also use cheap refill kits to replenish the ink (which also keeps the cost down - but that can be a bit messy). Hope that helps :)
@@niwniw2791 It's hard to say - because I don't always print out full pages myself... as I often only print out prototypes in black and white line-art, or just small sections of a page to make sure it's printing OK (then make some adjustments and do it again... and again... until I get it right). But like I say, I use cheap (£10 to £15) refill kits that allow me to refill the cartridges when they run out. You can only refill a cartridge about half a dozen times though (before it dies completely) - but one of these kits will easily last me a year or two. They're visually insanly good but i'm scarred of them being extremely fragile. Being forced to store my terrain in boxes as i have very little space, i'm hesitating^^
Mine have survived being dropped on the floor a couple of times without incident :) I also keep most of my stuff in shoe boxes and the like - without many issues (I won't say I never have any issues - and I've not stored these particular pieces yet - but they're pretty quick to make - compared to 'proper' terrain - so I tend to worry about them less :) ).

These have just taken the top spot of my favorite creations you've made. Looking forward to making some of my own soon!!!
Thanks for the kind words. Hope it goes well when making your own :)
Splendid, as usual! I really like the thought of having different textures of the huts and different sizes and so on. Makes it more living.

Another wonderful model sheet. This also offers many other possible uses for your own creations
Thanks!

Super neat build! You ever include tea candles into your builds for some ambient lighting? Inside occupied huts during the night could be neat!
I actually tested that out and shared a short video over on the Discord when I was in the design stage :)
